  • A huge piece of the double chocolate torte in the staff room, but I'm determined not to touch it :s I'm back at week 1 again..... idiota!
  • Fresh dates, and raw honey. No idea if there's "bad" stuff in them, but they helped me kick the urge to eat lollies. As for the headaches, paracetemol and plenty of water, and if you feel as crap as I did 5 weeks ago try not to stab anyone! Day 4 was the worst, could quite easily have gone on a homicidal rampage....
  • Yep I started just over 2 weeks ago, loving that the scales are finally moving again! I do allow a weeny bit of dairy so I guess I'm more 'Primal' than strict Paleo, but pretty close, would love to share recipes!
  • I'm 2 and a half weeks into a strict Paleo diet (with the exception of a little dairy). 1. Meat, eggs, fruit and vegies, nuts. 2. SUGAR, anything artificial or from a box, no bread/rice/grains of any kind. 3. Baked zucchini stuffed with bacon, onion, tomato and red capsicum. And theres awesome lemon and poppyseed muffins…
  • I'm always happy to have more friends!! I'm 31, living in Warrnambool VIC. I've got a very challenging 9yr old daughter, full time job, 3 cats, husband, volunteer commitments, busy busy! I'd love to have more people to encourage me to be accountable. I've had a shocking couple of weeks, mostly work stress, but am on the…
  • Same, and same!! I think the anxiety of knowing it will be terrible has gone down which helps the 'white coat' syndrome a lot :)
  • I go to the gym first thing in the morning! It was really hard to get used to initially (and there's still days it's very hard!) but it's the only time I can get it done. Once you're in the routine it becomes a really nice little getaway, and it makes for a better morning when I come home and get the kidlets up having had…
  • Red rooster's Hawaiian pack.... chicken, chips, pineapple fritter and banana fritter. Flippin fantastic, but it's like 1200 cals!! I used to have it a couple of times a week. I've had it once in the 95 days I've been logging food. God it tasted good, but seemed such a shame to blow all the hard work I'd done at the gym.
  • I hate bananas too. There's just something about them. So you're not alone!! And I'm glad to know I'm not either. I do still try and eat them, because I know they're good for you, but it's a lot of calories for something you detest! I'd rather eat an entire punnet of strawberries which works out less calories.
  • This is me too!! Well maybe not the stinky bit, I do tend to overestimate the amount of deodorant needed....
  • Full fat cheese!! After trying LOADS of different 'light' cheeses it's just not worth saving the calories when you have to sacrifice the flavour.
  • Mineral water, 1 calorie for 250ml and frankly I couldn't be bothered logging it for such a piddly amount!
  • MFP's calories burnt are quite inaccurate, so it's really interesting to see the real numbers! I borrowed a Polar F7 from a friend and it was great, today I bought one from Aldi for $20 so we'll see how it goes!!
  • LOL love your honesty!!! I too would need to change jobs ;) My thought is to log it before you eat it, and then work out how much you'd need to exercise to burn it back off. Usually enough to frighten me away from my nemesis, chicken chips...
  • Some great advice here!! I'd go with buy some, ask them to only give you half, and then throw half of that again out. Go down, get involved in the music and festivities, eat a little and DO NOT take the rest home! Dance, walk around, have fun. Don't deprive yourself of all the good stuff ;) But GREAT WORK holding strong…
  • OMG this is so true!!! Scary sight at yoga/pilates on Monday night, person in front of me had VERY see through pants!! Ick.... PS love my yoga pants, they make me feel tall
  • The skinny cow icecream sundaes are flippin brilliant, they're so indulgent and only have about 105-115 calories per tub. I keep a box in the freezer for moments of weakness... (Or most nights at the moment with my current stress level!!)
  • Yes and that too!!! I seek out food and go "I'm going to eat an entire bag of chips and no-one is going to stop me" but then I check the food database on here and when I realise that bag of chips equals an entire day's food, or at least 2 solid hours working out, I put it away!
  • Cry.... kick myself.... eat skinny cow icecream sundae..... wake up and go to gym. I still have days where all I want to do is eat, especially at work coz it's ridiculously stressful at the moment. I physically remove myself from the places where there's food, hide in an office somewhere and get on the MFP discussion…
  • Kmart or Target, as cheap as possible, coz I'm hoping I'll have to replace it all soon coz it's too big!!
  • Are any of the posters here in Australia? None of these breads sound familiar and I am really not ready to give up bread full stop, but cripes it adds a lot of calories to what would otherwise have been a fairly healthy meal!
  • Pita bread pizza is my favourite, the pita bread is about 100cal and I add a little bit of tomato paste and then mushroom, zucchini, baby spinach, 97% fat free ham, pineapple and lite cheese, yummo!
  • I'm starting tomorrow which will be the 6/8/12 for me (I'm in Australia). I've just researched and on another thread they said log it as circuit training
  • Aww special good luck to you!! Such a great motivator there :)
  • I found I couldn't add something new without taking something away.... So I gave up housework for the gym!! Well, 5-6 days a week anyway  There's still days I attempt to use it as an excuse, but suprisingly hubby and daughter are helping out just enough that I haven't had to throw in the towel yet! (so to speak…
  • I eat what I want but I still feel like I'm sabotaging myself. I've lost but not much or quickly, and I'm thinking it's time to change. There'll still be days where I eat whatever (coz I'd go mad without that) but at the moment thats every day and it's not really working for me. Do whatever it takes to help you stick to…
  • I'm finding it really hard to make the change so this thread is very interesting for me too. Processed is so much quicker and easier.... however I'm working my *kitten* off and not losing so it must be the logical next step.
  • LOL I love this thread!!! I'm in the gang too, and I've gotta say "chub rub" sounds so much cuter than "chafing thighs"!! I think it has a lot to do with the seam on the pants how bad it gets, jeans tend to have a seam that sticks out so it's instant friction. I get the fuzzies, the fading, and the "Operation- Retrieve…
  • Oh god I've got the opposite problem, my daughter is 9 nearly 10 and she's skinny as a rake. So is her dad though. The problem I have is I feel like I'm setting her up for an eating disorder because I'm so focussed on labels and portions and calories etc etc. She wants to weigh herself heaps, and she does have a bit of a…
  • Good luck Bill!! Long road ahead but with the support and tools on here you will do great :)
