Where are you buying your porridge oats - or how much do you eat - to cost £3 a week! We buy Tesco Value oats (they are just oats and perfectly good) and they cost 75p a 1kg bag. My partner and I eat a bowl a day, and we buy a new bag every 1-2 weeks. Cheapest brekkie ever!

I once watched a BBC documentary called 'Why are thin people not fat?' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hbsk2). They ran an experiment which showed that when 'naturally' slim people (i.e. found it hard to gain) were fed extra calories (surplus to their normal energy needs) the body compensated by increasing its energy…

In Itunes store, just called '10k runner'?

I'm only on W5 of C25K (the NHS one with Laura!), but I'm already looking ahead to what I will use to keep me going once the programme is over! Would you recommend these? Are they like Bridge to 10k?

I just did it this morning! It was fine. I took it really slowly until the last two minutes when I upped the pace. Excited for next week!

I do this (sedentary TDEE - 15% and eat back exercise) and it seems to be working. It motivates me to actually do exercise - more than just setting at an 'active' level would.

I would also say, I do believe net is more important than intake and I try to eat to fuel every workout. My aim is to net over my BMR every day. However, yesterday I cycled for nearly four hours and burnt 1707 calories (by my HRM) - there's no way I could eat that back. I had plenty of protein and ate much more than usual,…

Must be hard as a vegan! Nuts would be my first instinct...with breakfast or in the evening? Healthy oils for cooking and dressings. With small amounts of these you could easily bump up. 1200 to 1300 is a very small jump really - and still doesn't seem like lots of food. I'm the same height and net 1600, although I have…

Pancakes! ETA. Oops you already did. Love them anyway...

Oh I forgot to say - you can see in that picture, there is no clasp or anything on the back. It clips with flat little plastic hooks over your shoulder at the front. So you can do crunches or whatever no probs (my old bra had a broken metal hook and fastened at the back which always made crunches an interesting experience!)

Marks and Spencer's! I don't think I've ever bought a normal bra anywhere else, but I didn't occur to me to get my sports bra there. I ended up with a no support, no wiring bra that was basically a crop top (fine for a smaller size, though, I'm sure). Then I went to M&S and bough an Extra High Impact Wired Sports Bra and I…

Glad you cleared it up! Enjoy your porridge - brekkie of champions!

I have these exact oats every day. 50g dry oats is 180 cals. I make it with 150ml skimmed milk and 100ml water. I also add agave nectar and whatever soft fruit I fancy. Today's total breakfast calories was 302cals with a cup of tea. I am a hungry gal and this always keeps me going till lunchtime! There's no way you…

1. What Week/Day are you on? Finished Week One yesterday - start Week Two on Monday 2. How do you feel? Great! 3. Have you had to repeat a week or day? Not yet 4. Did you add time or remove time from one of your runs? Only walking from end of cool-down to home 5. Do you notice something different about yourself yet? It's…

I've recently realised the reason for my plateau is that I'm cancelling out my weekly deficit at weekends. This past week I've been using a weekly cals spreadsheet that some kind person posted on an MFP thread and it's helping me see the bigger picture. I think I'll be under both days this weekend! I don't drink beer but I…

9st 7lbs from 16st is an AMAZING weight loss, for anyone without mobility problems, let alone with! I don't know how tall you are, but I'm coming from a similar starting point and will be delighted with 10st. I know it's hard when you get obsessed about a particular number, but just think how much healthier you are without…

Well done you! Enjoy it!

I was going the same research last week. I also went for the FT4 from Amazon and I love it! It's much better than my old one. It even knows to put the light on when you press the buttons in the dark!! (Don't ask me how I discovered this....)!
-
Thanks. I use one of these for walking and find it good, but I don't have a way to carry my phone around when running, e.g. holster etc, and it's a bit bulky. Now tempted by Fitbit after reading more boards and reviews! Ah well, will keep researching...
-
Wow, thanks. Sounds a bit pricey though! Does anyone have experience of whether the cheaper Polar FT4 compares well to the FT7?
-
Thanks. I assume it does calories burned and av. heart rate? I think I'll need the luck!
-
I love how everything about you is brighter and happier! That is a real achievement.
-
It's brilliant! I totally love it. (Except Mountain Climbers...they are evil).
-
Since it's available so cheap, I think I'll try it!
-
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check that one out. Any more for any more? :)

I do a similar workout four times a week before breakfast. I rarely eat any snack before, although I will have a cup of tea. It takes c. 45 minutes so I'm really starving by breakfast. I never skip breakfast, and try and get some protein in.
-
Walking is awesome. Anyway you can commute by foot or bike? I get three miles walking a day that way, and it only takes me half an hour to walk the 1.5 miles to work - I could spend that long on the bus if one doesn't come and the traffic's bad. Also I have no money, so bought EA Active Sports 2 for the PS3 for about £10…

If you want to eat at a deficit from your daily expenditure, but not go below your BMR, then the latter. You would be taking in your BMR of calories, but operating at a deficit from everything else you burn, including ordinary activity and exercise. The former, you would be taking in less than BMR...

Maybe it's a CEREAL KILLER. Buh-boom, tish. Uh, I'll get my coat...

I used to have a nightmare with cereal! Seriously, my boyfriend would dread getting to the cereal aisle in the supermarket, as I'd never know what to choose, and I'd get reaaaally bored with whatever healthy choice I was currently eating. I'm currently so into porridge, which I didn't think I liked. I soak the oats…
