I follow Nerd Fitness too! I do the Beginner's circuit a few times a week and love it! I usually warm up on the elliptical (~5 minutes) at a moderate pace and do a short interval set on the recumbent (maybe 15-20 minutes) and call it quits.

It's probably best to take yourself off all kinds of dairy just as a trial. I thought the same - I've never been told I'm lactose intolerant - but as soon as I pulled back on my dairy and tried it again, I knew it was a no-go for me. Several of my friends have said the same thing - "I won't give up dairy because my body…

You said it - 2012 is our year!! Keep up the great work! I have an idea of how much I'd like to lose but I'm learning more and more that it's not such much about the number (on the scale or how much is lost) but more about a healthy body fat percentage and muscle mass. It'd be great to be back to average clothing sizes…

WOW! Thank you everyone! You all are super encouraging! I appreciate your kind words, you are some great people :-) And way to go for everyone else with their life changes so far. Let's all keep up the hard work together!!

Awesome! Thanks! I'm looking forward to switching things up; I've experimented enough that I notice a marked difference between sugar/grain/dairy eating versus none of those things. Congrats on your loss so far, keep up the hard work!

Hey, if I'm being honest, I need the pressure haha! That was 90% of the reason I joined MFP. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks so much!

Way to go! This happened for me too! I lost about 30 lbs and before I knew it, it was coming back every month on the dot. I didn't think it was possible. Congrats to you!

All this talk of coconut oil is making me hungry! I like cooking chicken tenders or nuggets on my grill pan with coconut oil. I really like coconut chicken tenders (the bread covered ones!) so this is a good alternative for me in my transition to the paleo way.

I don't think you're twisted! I think there's something to it too.

I'd actually love the same! I'm not going full force yet but I'm transitioning to a Paleo lifestyle. I can hardly take in 100g of protein daily and I'm struggling!

I started at 280lbs and focused on my diet quite a bit initially, dropped about 30 lbs then did The Shred also. I had to modify Level 1 quite a bit for awhile but stuck with it and can do Level 1 fairly well now. Walking/jogging for about 20-30 minutes 3-5 days a week is also really helpful.

Agreed!

I have some of the same fears at 27! I've been obese for a long time and I know my body isn't going to be perfect but it's the truth: healthy feels a lot better than anything else. WE CAN DO IT!

I'm waiting for my Polar HRM to be delivered to my house from Amazon! I have a bad feeling that MFP has been overestimating calories burned for me, as well. I do the couch potato to 5k running plan and The Shred for my workouts; I am already dreading the idea that I may have been burning fewer calories that MFP tells me I…

That's what I do - 25 minutes under Circuit Training - general. I'm waiting for my Polar HRM to get in so that I can be more accurate with number of calories burned but using several different calories-burned calculators on the internet, the figure provided by MFP Circuit Training - general seems fairly accurate.

Just started about two weeks ago! Good luck to you.
