I've been doing it and find it quite filling and not at all restrictive. I'm not a huge fan of carbs anyway so getting my carbohydrates from veggies works quite well for me. PM me for more info.

Have you shown her exactly what aspartame does? How dangerous it is? Is she just keeping it in the house? I found that replacing it with something you really like helps not wanting diet sodas.
