Almost all the advice on weight loss is about physical changes, but everyone I know who has succeeded at this says that it's mostly mental. So, you're on the right track. I think the advice you got regarding visualization makes sense. It didn't keep me from losing weight, but I did find as others have, that once the weight…

"Just wanted to hear other people insight as I didn't think it was normal for a parent to make such request" Unthinkable for a healthy human being of either gender to make such a request.

Congratulations on your success. A lot of us have a lack of family support. In most cases, such as mine, we get the opposite criticism that we are getting "too skinny" or are weird or whatever. A lot of us get our support from MFP friends simply because families can be so unhelpful.

There is no magic elixir for this. You'll do it when you are ready.

You look like you lost 100 pounds and 10 years. Great work!

Weight loss requires mental adjustments not just physical. You have just started a long road. If you are feeling discouraged after just 15 days, I encourage you to read a lot of the success posts on MFP. There are people who have lost as much as you want to and more. You will see they overcame a lot of negative feelings…

Same. Weight varies so much day-to-day that I like to average it once a week for accuracy. If I just weigh myself once a week, I don't know if it's an uptick, a downtick or average.

Don't be too hard on yourself... or too easy. There is always a reason to take a day off. It's my birthday. It's Thanksgiving. It's Christmas. I'm on vacation. I'm travelling. I have out-of-town guests... and on and on...

This is my first visit to a message board in a month and now I remember why. How such an inocuous post can generate such nasty replies would amaze me if I was still capable of amazement after 3 years on MFP. Flame away. (Countdown starts now till someone throws out the hoary "butthurt" comment.)

There is an oversupply. I'm shorting sarcasm.

It's a reasonable goal but the obstacle to success is mental/psychological. If it's freaking you out, maybe you could lower it to something you can envision. After a while, you just might gain the confidence to increase it. What's the worst that could happen, that a year from now you are ONLY down 35 pounds?

She's already addressed why she's not. I don't blame her. She's not asking you to critique her eating habits.
