REMEMBER: Everyone else is thinking the same thoughts as you are about their own body...be happy with who you are and remember you cannot make anyone else happy so why bother? You have nothing to feel shame over.

#3 is perfect for you!

Gotta tell ya, I hate cooking with a passion...well, not the cooking so much as the cleaning up afterwards. I eat a lot of microwaved meals and seriously do not mind repetition in my diet; there was an entire 6-month period when I ate Smart Ones Three Cheese Ziti for every dinner. I am now on a green bean kick (steamed in…

I am a director of human resources, and I can tell you that people do NOT always think before they type. Some individuals are downright crass and do not like to be "challenged" with new ideas or thoughts. Weight loss is very personal and some people just need to be right. I too have been subjected to these rude individuals…

I know this is going to sound silly, but I had the same problem. When these moments hit me, I play BigFishGames and that entertains my brain. Hunt and find games, puzzles, adventures, etc. it doesn't matter - all I know is it helped a LOT! I also started reading - getting lost in the books helps me so much! Also - brush…

I read this study one time where a coach had 20 players make free throws for an hour a day and another 20 think about making free throws for an hour a day...after time had passed, there was virtually no difference between the two groups. So - that being said, I strongly believe in the power of our minds. There is no…

I have the same issue because I prefer oatmeal for breakfast...BUT I have started adding egg whites (boiled or scrambled). It really makes a difference! I have also enjoyed the Smart Ones breakfast sandwich (turkey sausage).

Welcome! Know you can do it - it might not always be easy, but it can be done. You have made a tremendously brave choice to change a lifetime of habits - I applaud your courage! Good luck:flowerforyou:

I first determine if I am really hungry or bored...if I know that a full meal is right around the corner, I brush my teeth. Something about brushing my teeth keeps me from snacking needlessly. Also - I always keep baby carrots in the fridge...this really helps!

Happens to me all the time! I wish I had the answer for why it happens - I am of the opinion that it happens because while I am cooking, my mind is otherwise occupied and I am not thinking about eating. It certainly helps with portion control so I try to embrace it. I may have to force myself to eat the food I…

This does happen to me...I do not know the medical reason for this, but I will pass what I learned from my nutritionist... I used to eat every other day and I had my metabolic rate tested...my metabolism was so slow, they thought their machine was broken (seriously :grumble: ). The nutritionist explained to me that my body…

If it helps, non-sodium, non-caffienated, non-caloric drinks (diet-rite, store brands, superwater, etc,) count as water intake.

I understand...my husband only eats crap and before long, my healthy eating habits went right down the toilet. Best advice? Log in often and keep yourself busy with other things. Take a photo of yourself and put it on the refrigerator or cupboards to remind you that you are doing this for yourself. Brush your teeth instead…

You are way too hard on yourself...but I have a thought or two. Have you had yourself checked for hernias? Sometimes moms get hernias during labor without knowing it - it looks a lot like excess weight when in fact it may be a medical issue. Also, I have looked into cool sculpting (I think this is the name)...I have spoken…

I'm here too!

I am rewarding myself with a 1/2 marathon and juvederm injections. I am also going to try Cool Sculpting for the first time...very excited!

We all do it. I normally eat super healthy, but was derailed when my (now) husband and his teen-ager moved in....what boys will eat. I don't know if this will help you or not, but I was about to eat an entire bag of cheese puffs one day when I decided to try this trick...I made a vow to never eat anything unless I was at…

I was a weightloss counselor for a few years - and I got this question all the time. Your body needs those calories...as hard as it is to accept - you need to eat to lose weight. If you have more to lose, you require more food to feed your muscles and retain your health; if you eat less than your required number of…

You have joined an excellent program! I love, love, LOVE this website and have had great success using it. You are going to do great. It's good to have you...just remember, whenever you are in a restaurant and think you might want that something that will derail your progress...watch other people eat then remember why…

Honey Crisp...sooo good!

I know it's tough - but try to remember that even mom's get jealous. Remember also that you are not doing this for her - you are doing this for you. I had the same problem until I stopped discussing my weight and diet altogether - eventually those same people were forced to tell ME how much I lost...it feels so good. Stick…

It is so hard when we do not get the support from the people we really want to make proud. Unfortunately, there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel any better - but maybe for the next time.... These people, relatives or not, are called diet sabbateurs (spelling?) - they are the ones who react like your mom, or try…

I never look at the scale in my doctor's office, and I only weigh myself on one scale (the one at the gym). This helps me keep from getting derailed. I usually step on the docs scale backwards...

I am so there with you...I have been derailed by my own give a darn (apparently, it is broken). But I know the price of a broken heart. It is so hard to remember that your identity is your own. I am back with a new attitude as well. Everyone is here to support you and give you whatever you need! Welcome back. Let me know…

Giving up just means postponing progress. If you quit now, you will just be back later, only without any progress.

Yup. Worst diarrhea ever (with a side of oily stool discharge, thank you very much)....

Could be water, could be a loss of muscle mass....more than likely since it was only a few days, it's water.

So, I know that this is an old post - but I decided to try running in my bare feet just to test the theory. I decided to run a mile. Forget the debris on the sidewalk (because obviously this is a problem which would naturally prevent any sane person from running barefooted), as this was not really part of my experiment.…

I just love reading stories such as yours. Keep it up! And thank you for the reminder to keep our hearts separated from the scale...it helps to hear now and again!
