If you start strength training you're likely to gain weight. You can do cardio and weights at the same time as this might aid muscle's to show once the fat has come off - rather than getting the fat off to then start the weights

Your mind gives up before your body does This has gotten me through SO many workouts :-)

If you're not loosing weight then it's because your fat is TURNING INTO muscle - hence not loosing scale weight!

Don't let it throw you off - just pick up again. Personally I need the naughty food every now and then otherwise it isn't a lifestyle for me and I stop enjoying it. I save a few calories up over a few days which stops me feeling guilty. For me, a small amount of chocolate after a few hours of wanting some is better than…

Less carbs, more cardio is working for me :-)

I eat around 1200, feel free to add me.

Now for the diet. A general day would consist of 2 slices toast with margarine for breakfast, tomato soup with half slice bread for lunch and fresh chicken and rice for dinner, no snacks in between. I work this out to be around 930 calories for a full day. Okay I don't think she's eating enough therefore her body is going…

If you "replace" fat with muscle, you're likely to gain weight on the scales. A cup full of muscle weighs more than a cup full of fat, so you could essentially loose inches but gain weight on the scales. This has happened to me :-) If you don't have much muscle on your belly then there's not much chance at being able to…

My mum says unintentional things. A guy at work asked if I'd lost weight, so I told my Mum only for her reply to be "it must have been the top you were wearing- was it black?" as black is slimming. She felt instantly awful after she said it but that doesn't help me forget! My best mate has always had an issue with food and…

My boyfriend lost weight from stopping eating after 7pm. His tea was around 400 cals. I've cut carbs so I eat these early in a morning when I'm likely to need them as energy throughout the day. I'd say you're fine as long as the food you're eating is protein/fats rather than carbs late at night- this will also help your…

If you're going over just by 100 cals, have a look to see what exercise you could do to offset these. I do 3mins of squats with 6KGs (although I don't log the 6KGs) which is about 35 cals based on my weight. Here's some more info I took from http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1777 50 Ways to Burn…

From what I've learned from myself and others, if you really want it, you will put in the time and commitment to do it - no one else will do it for you. A lot of my time is spent organising, buying, preparing, logging and finally eating food - not to mention hitting the gym, but I really want it so I do it because the…

I do Pilates at home which I really enjoy for those days I can't face the gym.

Great inspirational post!!! 1. I want to fit in nice clothes and not feel conscious 2. I want to be one half of a fit relationship (my fiance is already there) 3. I want to look toned and gorgeous in clothes AND naked

Okay thanks guys for your help I wanted to make quorn mince parcels using pastry but could use egg whites instead

It can be their measure of success if they wish - everybody is different.

I think that's the best way to go about still eating your favourites but under control

Hey, I started a new "lifestyle change" (I hate the word diet ! ) on Monday, feel free to have a nosey. If you look at today, I haven't had the snacks yet but will do within the next 2-3 hrs (I add my daily food for when I'm at work in the morning so I get amounts 100% right) . I didn't run this morning like I did…

Hey I have a desk job so have a few tips... Instead of eating, have a drink - I've just started having green tea when I'm feeling like I need something. Before I was drinking lots and lots of water which I found very boring. Get up at least once an hour (if your boss is okay with this) and have a walk round your office. I…

Hey, I find when people go on "quick-win" diets, they quickly turn back to their old habits. My suggestion is to make a full lifestyle change (as someone else has suggested) instead of a diet. Start with small things - adding more veg on your plate, eating more low-cal feel-fuller foods (eggs do it for me), less carb…

It also looks like your "naughty day" is Sunday - or just last Sunday? Lots of sweets & naughty things. Eating healthy in the morning/mid afternoon doesn't make up for a high-(empty) calorie evening

I've looked at your diary and I'd suggest cutting back on the carbs. Make it so you eat 40% protein... 35% good fat... 25% carbs. There's also a few foods not registering calories... for example Dunkin Donuts - Original Blend K Cup, 1 K Cup 0 0 0 0 0 0

Tuna ? :)

How do you cook your veg? I've recently gotten bored so found different ways to cook. For example I now roast my veggies then sprinkle either salt/pepper, or spices on. I make lots of soups out of veggies now - currently eating brocolli & cheese! Low carb, lovely.

How do you eat your eggs? There's a few ways of eating them. I go through phases of having them scrambled/ poached etc. I like scrambled eggs with a blob of passata on (tomato juice) or 2 fried eggs on a piece of brown bread. Porridge is something I also love, with a banana - healthy but not ideal to loose weight.

Hi Stephanie It's certainly a diet, rather than a lifestyle choice - as I agree with the posts which say it isn't great to cut out certain vitamins/minerals found in some foods, ie carbs. A colleague at my work does it, and has lost half her body weight. I started it yesterday but I'm not going to be as strict, as I want a…
