  • Any amount of weight you DO loose before Feb first, is an amount to be really proud of yourself for. trying to loose 10 lns by then is not impossible, but it could do you more harm than good. 10 lbs/mo=2.5/week. You could find yourself getting discouraged if you don't loos as you want to. Such thoughts can make it harder…
  • Take care of yourself, Cheryl... you will be welcomed back with open arms, you can be sure
  • i think that is marvelous!!! No wait, lol...really, before you call the men in white coats... This is the perfect opportunity for good old fashioned meals. You know the ones with meat, potatoes, and vegetables. Real foods, not all that stuff we tend to reach for that has ingredients you need a doctorate to read. Roast a…
  • ok, so apparently i didn't get far enough onto that damn wagon, lol Now i really have to catch up. December was just a really hard month for me. Im sure a lot of people can relate to that. Unfortunatly i put myself on hold, in order to try and keep everything else going. Excuses, i know... So now, i start over. A new leaf.…
  • actually i am from Manitoba, Canada...i had the apple cinnamon yogurt when i was visiting, in Alberta, Canada. Unfortunatly not all products are sold everywhere, that is a bummer.
  • Hi guys, It has been a couple weeks now. I fell off my wagon, big time. I admit, i gave up for a while. Things were just suddenly crazy, and i was super stressed. I can't think about diet and exercise when i am that stessed. It isn't over, but it is lessening. Thoughts keep entering my head about how hard i worked, and the…
  • we fell in love with the nutty flavor of brown rice, so it was easy for me to switch. Although, just plain rice can get real boring. I found a delicious recipe for caribbean rice. Basically just add a can of drained mandarin oranges to the rice, a dash of cinnamon and there you go. You could also add some crushed…
  • congrats on making those better choices...they really do make a difference
  • I have often wondered if i am afflicted with this dis-order. Basically, anytime there is 3 days in a row that are cloudy, i am depressed and lacking in energy, etc... don't know if this helps for people with SAD...but...when it is sunny...get out there!!!! I do, it makes a world of difference for me.
  • there are 3 things i love most in my kitchen...my steamer, my oven, and my barbeque...ok, so that one isn't technically in my kitchen, lol. I have a steamer from tupperware that i use all the time for doing my veggies up quick and healthy. I also like to do them "roasted" in the oven. i cut them in big chunks, spray…
  • LOL you have struck upon one of my most hated delemas..however you spell that:happy: I am watching fat, sugar/carbs, and salt....well wouldn't you know it, if you take one out, more often than not, you put more of the other in. It is frustrating as h e double hockey sticks!!! I too had to look at a lot of different yogurts…
  • i have been watching my sodium intake lately, and making major adjustments. Easiest thing i found is to stay awa from processed foods. I try to do as much as i can from fresh stuff. I have cut out sandwich meats. I use frozen and fresh veggies more now. I still love canned mushrooms, but i have started rincing them before…
  • Goodness knows we are constantly barraged with roadblocks and hurdles...good to see you are back with us, and as determined as ever. Im the one in your corner with the goofy oversized foam hand that says " #1" jumping up and down screaming like crazy, rootin you on.:flowerforyou:  oh yah, and im down 14 lbs so far
  • this is the seasoned nosalt i use...it is not very easy to find though, but if you do...i think it is the best. http://www.homesolutionsstore.com/cgi-bin/item/RB36230
  • I can't believe this post is still going...awesome... I saw my dr yesterday, for first time since joining this site...i figure her scale is the one that really matters since she is helping me... Oct 2-348 (last dr appointment) Nov 27-334 i had been looking at the scale for a couple minutes when she came over and told me…
  • go for a walk. best advice ever given to me. it works for virtually everything; when i over eat, it burns off some of the cals. when im stressed, it clears my mind, heart and soul. when i want to binge, it gets me away from the fridge, lol... when i need time to myself...i can get away. when i need to think, it gives me…
  • isn't it awesome how soon you notice the difference? I think that is the best part, and the most motivational. I know for me, being able to do little things again means more to me than even the number on the scale. It also amazes me just how much different my body feels without the junk in it. A few weeks ago, hubby and i…
  • k, like, am i the only one who likes my boobs? well, hubby does too, lol...but...cm, have to agree with your trainer...they will shrink... with me, they have always been the first to go, lol
  • Ahhh yes...but we have different lotteries here in western canada...i still have a chance
  • i don't know that this is a good idea. Most items that are small but high in calories are the ones we try so hard to stay away from. Maybe, instead, allow yourself to have the little extras, gravy, cream sauce, condiments...again they are things we want to refuse, but they are not the same as having high calorie "junk"…
  • i agree totally, i think reaching a plateau is just our body's way of saying, ok, im bored with this...excite me. Sometimes you have to mix things up to motivate yourself, do the same for your body.
  • i have found that i balance my cals thoughout the day better. Also, what are you eating? maybe make lower caloie choices. eg: i found Weight Watchers bread allows 2 slices as one serving...and it is very comparable to one slice of regular bread, nutrition wise. Make spaghetti sauce starting with canned tomatos, or even…
  • just saw my DR...im down to 334 YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :drinker:
  • im horrible at making recipes...im too creative in the kitchen, and never remember what i used when it is all said and done. One thing i will share with you...start with old tomatoes. One of the local grocery stores, in my town, has a "bargin bin" for veggies that are just a little less than fresh. I always pick up the…
  • LOL guess what...you are normal ,lol. it doesn't matter what size you are, if you feel you need to do something to get more healthy, do it. and as for the treat...well, hate to break it to you, but as i said, you are "normal".
  • i never had a problem getting my hubby to come excercise with me...but i chose something i knew he wouldn't mind doing, right from the start. I didn't try to make him do what i wanted, i just figured that if he wanted to support me, we should do something we both like, so it is a good experience for us both. No one wants…
  • myfitness pal, is just one of the things i am using to loose weight and become healthy. It works because i make it work. I have lost 13.5 lbs since Oct 26...that is proof enough for me. In the end we are what causes us to get healthy and loose weight...things like mfp are like hammers in the tool box.
  • a hot air popcorn popper ... oh, and a winning lottery ticket :smokin:
  • thank you cm... i hadn't realised it did count daily stuff...good to know. :flowerforyou: for your wisdom :)
  • yo yo dieting is very common, thats for sure. there are enough companies out there getting rich to prove it. Have you asked yourself why you give up? why you are only sucessfull for a little while. I did some really heavy thinking recently, and discovered that i, in the past have sabatoged myself cause i was afraid of what…
