  • Welcome Aboard. Great site, great resources, great people. Enjoy the ride.
  • FC - I'm sure you will be ready when you get to your goal. You've done amazing so far. That in itself in major accomplishment. As far as the belly bottom, my wife's was relocated. They just made a new opening and relocate the innards. She actually said that was more discomfortable than the cut from hip to hip and the…
  • Congratulations on the weight loss! I'm curious how much they cost now. Did they give you a price range?
  • I remember during the consultation we had with the surgeon that he said that women who give birth will rarely get their full stomach muscles back to pre-birth state because the birthing process typically rips them. The only way to pull them back to allow for 6-pack abs was surgery. That is part of the procedure they do…
  • We had flounder fillets tonight for dinner. We bake them on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam then sprinkle the fillets with cajun seasoning. Bake around 10 to 15 minutes. Kids love them.
  • Welcome! My wife lost 65 pounds on Weight Watchers Online. We are in need of sheading a few now and found MFP. Very similar to WW Online BUT with more interaction from real people. We look forward to hearing about your successes real soon.
  • She is a member on MFP, she actually brought me along for the ride. The reduction she has made is actually very impressive. I do not think giving it up completely is a current goal, so I will just celebrate her sucess this far and continue to praise her. If she decides to add removal as a goal, I will try to encourage and…
  • Welcome Aboard! :drinker: Great things are happening here, so stay involved. But beware, it can be addicting.
  • Welcome Aboard. You will love it here and will get some great advise from many. Typical advise: Drink plenty of water, Eat reasonably but enough every day (see MFP recommendations), and Exercise often. Dieting doesn't always mean you have to eliminate everything you like from your food comsumption, but maybe just less…
  • I have pretty much removed sodas from my diet except as the mixer for my infrequent alcohol comsumption but my dieting wife will not give up her Diet Dr. Pepper! She's dropped from a whole 2 liter a day down to one every other day, but still will not give it up. Any suggestions to help motivate and encourage her?
  • Too strong on that last one? OK, How's this: Why do banks charge you a "non-sufficient funds fee" on money they already know you don't have?
  • Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?
  • We are having baked tilapia with cajun seasoning, Uncle Ben's Long and Wild Rice, Allen's Italian cut green beans, and possibly a side salad.
  • My wife had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation after she lost and kept off 65 pounds. She also got tired of tucking the extra skin at the waist and "rolling up" her breast and stuffing them in her bra. She did VERY WELL with both procedures. Took a little longer than she hoped to get the feeling back in both…
  • Welcome Aboard. MFP is a GREAT tool and asset to you achieving your goal(s). Beware - this place is friendly and addicting.
  • Drink Water Eat Reasonably Exercise Often
  • Welcome Aboard! You are going to love it here! Prepare to get addicted to something other than food.
  • I bought myself a Trek Navigator 2.0 Hybrid for a late Christmas present in mid-January. I haven't owned a bike since college. Cycling have now become my main form of exercise since the purchase. Loving it! Trying to get in about 40 miles a week (most of my riding has been at night). Looking forward to increasing my time…
  • Although I eat oatmeal a couple days a week, I prefer a more substantial breakfast. The mornings are usually rushed trying to get the kids to school so I went looking in the frozen section of the grocery store last week. I found Jimmy Dean's D-Light Breakfast Sandwiches. These are basically McMuffins (Canadian Bacon or…
  • ALMOST anything Adam Sandler: The Wedding Singer     Waterboy    Anger Management
  • An article in the February 2009 edition of Men's Health stated: "In a 13-week study, dieters who kept a food record for 3 weeks or longer lost 3.5 pounds more than those who didn't, say researchers at the University of Arkansas. And over the long term, this strategy may be even more important for enhancing your results.…
  • I'm having to plan out / anticipate my consumption early in the day so I am not left with half my calories after 6pm. A small amount of mixed nuts is about 170 calories per ounce (which use to be a small handful that I would consume many times over) and actually quite filling. On the sweet side, 3 pieces of Godiva…
  • 2oz grilled center cut pork loin chop, 1 cup of Allen's Italian green beans, 3/4cup Birdseye sweet corn, 1 cup baked potato/squash/zucchini wedged, 16oz of water - 384 calories
  • We have a 9 y.o.Autistic son and he does not do well at restaurants. Definitely NOT enjoyable for the rest of the family either, so when we can - we order take out. Mostly major fast food chains close to us anyway - so we are not missing much.
  • Breakfast - Starbucks Grande Decaf brew w/half & half and a 15.2oz Naked Juice Orange Mango ~ 300 calories Lunch - 5oz baked sweet potato, 1/3cup black beans, 1/3cup black beans, 1/3cup lima beans Dinner - ??? It's the wife's birthday dinner. Sound like a take out meal - buffalo chicken salad from Zaxby's or Wild WIngs I'm…
  • For years Laure Redmond hated her body: too fat, too freckled, too lumpy, too stumpy. And that hatred was like a set of shackles holding her back from life. Author says she finds that women comfortable with their own body are nicer to other women. Now a self-esteem coach who specializes in mind/body issues, Redmond has…
  • Laure Redmond, a self-esteem coach who once hated her body, says that "being comfortable naked is the ultimate expression of self-confidence" http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/personal/01/23/o.nude.attitude/index.html Just read this article and was thinking about my wife, children, friends and family. Just wondering what…
  • A whole can of Progresso Roasted Chicken Rotini Soup (160c / 5g fat / 22g Carbs / 12g Protein), 10 Premium Saltines (120c / 3g fat, 22 Carbs / 2 Protein) and another 20oz of water (that will take me to 7 1/2 cups for the day).
  • I had a friend of mine introduce me to website that helped you design a workout regimine/plan based on your goals, available time, available equipment, etc... BUT I cannot remeber it now. I looked at Men's Health but I'm not real eager to spend the money they want for a 3 month subscription. Has anyone come across or know…
  • I guess if I decide to go for a longer time, I might learn to enjoy the soy products and avacodo - but I have never been able to eat much of either. Now peanut butter is another thing - could eat it daily. Never thought of coconut milk. Thanks all!!!
