  • Hi there. I lost 70 pounds with medifast and hado kept it off for nearly 2 years. Once you commit and settle in, food truly becomes just fuel and it's very emotionally freeing. I've gained back about 10 recently (need job, puppy, not sleeping well and turning to sugar). Starting again tomorrow.
  • I'm new to coaching also! My advice (to myself) is to keep it simple. Like me personally, I have done all sorts of extra reading and research but it's NOT necessary to know HOW MF works just THAT it works. Good luck let's keep in touch!
  • Dutch chocolate shake mixed with iced decaf coffee. Hands down. When I travelled that's what I would have for 3 of my 5 MF meals I like it THAT much :)
  • Welcome! Medifast is awesome. My advice? Avoid the oatmeal at first!
  • 37 in 10 weeks :)
  • I found this ENORMOUSLY helpful. I measure everything by weight. http://www.ihelpweightloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/veggiesbyweightattachment.php.pdf
  • I'm down a total of 34 in 9 weeks :)
  • Welcome! I love Medifast! I eat the same thing every day - shake, eggs, chicken noodle soup, bar, puffs/bites. I actually enjoy the food. I think it's an amazing program!
  • Haven't been in this forum in a bit. Just a quick update - 8 weeks, 32 pounds lost! Medifast really DOES work but you have to commit. Some days my commitment is VERY tested, but it's worth the effort.
  • 4 more week 5! 23 so far, 57 to go!
  • Update - down 3 in week 4, so 19 in my first month :) I love MF!
  • For me the weekend is different, not in what I do day in and day out, but from what I USED to do on weekends. Go out for big dinners and drink :) But it is getting easier every week!
  • I seem to be a "party of one" on this board, but that's ok:) Down 4 more, total of 16!
  • Well said Littlered!!
  • Weighed in this morning (was away over the weekend) - down 2 more for a total of 12 in two weeks!
  • I definitely have more of a 'TGIM" routine rather than TGIF on MF for sure (Thank Goodness it's Monday, lol). I try to use the weekends to be active, but the hardest part for me is not having a glass or 3 of wine Fridays and Saturdays. By Sunday morning, I breathe a sigh of relief that those 2 days are over! I'm only on…
  • Hey and welcome! I love Mediast. Did it in 2009 and got within 17 pounds of goal. WISH I hadn't given up. Back and totally committed this time. Happy to be your friend!! Emily
  • First week back - I lost 10! I'm still shocked as I've never lost that much weight in one week before.
  • For me, I feel like it's not about eating x or y, it's about just getting into the "groove" of the plan. I did this once before, and went off a little here or there and it got to the point where I just had too many times to "choose" if this was a time to go off. I'm only on my first week back but am finding that every time…
  • I think that the point is for it to get a little boring, lol. That way food is just food, boring fuel instead of what I had been making it the rest of my life if that makes sense. Looks like you're doing great! I remind myself that medifast is NOT forever, but it's not going to be the solution unless I do it right - get to…
  • Thanks! I think logging the food here will also be good since that's what I'll need to do in Transition and Maintenance. Which I AM going to get to this time!! :)
  • I definitely think more water will help. I also think that your muscles are likely holding more water as they repair from the newly introduced exercise. Stick with it and maybe use a pair of pants that are too snug now to monitor your progress along with the scale. I've seen (in the past, getting back into it now) that the…
  • Hey there, that's great! I'm with you. The times that I've gotten into the best shape are when I've had no access or interest in a scale. I wonder if that is at least in part because without the scale I can only go by how I feel/look/clothes fit and therefore have no idea that I'm "in a weight loss plateau" or "up 3 pounds…
  • There is no such thing as failure! Only giving up! I bounced around the same 3 pounds for awhile, but I stuck with it and that's how I am where I am. Anyone who is frustrated, just look at what you're doing and see where you can tweak. For me, I needed to eat more. I have a treaddesk - walk 6-10 miles per day during the…
  • I've read a lot about this. Yes, technically, you burn more "fat" during a walk than a run. But at the end of the day, it's the total amount of calories burned that matters. Quoting Jillian Michaels (ok, paraphrasing) - If you walk for 30 minutes and burn 100 calories, you would burn 80 calories of fat and 20 calories of…
  • I hadn't tracked my salt before my first stall but once I started, I was amazed. Salt seems to go hand in hand with processed foods as well, so I found cutting salt meant cutting out a lot of those. It's worked for me! Never give up. Tweak, don't quit!
  • I think you're doing great! When you have more to lose, it comes off more quickly at first.
  • Have you taken measurements? When you go back to exercising, your body uses water to help you recover, so that is most likely the story. What about sodium?
  • I agree with others about sodium. Try adding it to the "things you track" section. I was consistently getting well over 2000 mg/day and noticed water retention big time. I try to keep it at/below 1500 and have noticed more consistency this way. Just know it's not "real" gaining.
  • I couldn't decide on them, but when I hit 25 pounds, I went blonde! (in my profile pic). Not sure what the next 25 will be... :)
