I was also on 1200 for a few weeks and I did lose weight but was tired and miserable. Despite being on 1200, I plateaued for over a month and I decided to up my calories to 1420 and I lost 2lb within the 1st week. I still continue to lose weight on 1420 and the calories are much more sustainable in the long term. I also…

It seems like you've hit a plateau and it should come off, just stick to it. Im 5ft 2 and am currently 123. My goal is 120 so I only 3lbs to go. I hit a plateau for 4 whole weeks and absolutely nothing, then 2lb loss the following week. I hope this is the case for you - stick with it. :flowerforyou:

Love this post, thanks OP. I agree with the calorie adjustment, MFP set me to 1200 but I manually changed it to 1440 and am losing. My tips: Drink lots of water, weigh your food so you know exactly how many calories you are eating, log everything, don't overestimate your exercise, measure yourself as well as weighing…

I was eating 1200 and going to the gym (and eating exercise cals) and I lost 8lbs pretty quickly but I hit a plateau with no weight loss for over 4 weeks. I changed my MFP settings to lightly active and also that I wanted to lose 0.5lb a week and it automatically up'ed my cals to 1440 and in the first week I lost 2lbs. I…

Hey, I do a really lovely cajun chicken & quinoa recipe. I think it would be nice substituting the chicken for steak though. Im in the UK so only have UK measurements  . Here it is: 4 skinless chicken breasts , cut into bite-sized pieces 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning 100g quinoa 600ml hot chicken stock 100g dried apricots…

It also worked for me. I was at 1200, lost a few lbs pretty quickly but then slowed to nothing. I up'd to 1440 and lost 2lbs in the first week! I also eat my exercise calories back.

Everything yes and the weights of foods can make a difference too. When you look back to analyse your weight loss and what works for you, its much easier if you've put everything in. As Melaniecheeks above said, it does get easier. The more you use the app, the more it remembers your recent and most used items. Enjoy your…

Or you could make a Spanish Tortilla (but it uses a little more oil). To make you slce potatoes super thinly, then fry with onion (or you could try boiling I suppose). Then when the potato is cooked you mix some eggs, put the potato mixture into the eggs. Season again and then add back to the frying pan. Cook unil golden…

i love frittata's too. Whichever veg I have around the house, I boil up. Drain when cooked, add some eggs and seasoning (I like salt, pepper, few herbs and and nutmeg) then put the eggie, veggie mixture in a frying pan with some fry light. Once its set, and gone a lovely golden colour on the bottom, turn it over (I use a…

Half a glass of wine and the other half top up with soda or normal water so you half the calories. I also have a glass of water between wines and you feel better the next morning!! :drinker:

MFP set me to 1200, I never eat below this and I eat back all my exercise cals. I was losing 1lb a week but this has been slowing down recently which I thought was due to me starting a gym and now getting fit (fitter than I was anyway)! Using the calculator ( http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/calories-to-lose-weight)…

Im 5"1 and my calories is also set at 1200 and I eat my exercise calories the majority of the time. I find 1200 is fine although it usually works out that once a week I go over by about 400-500 calories :blushing: (meal out with friends, Sat night out drinking etc). I have still lost about 1lb a week so its working for me…
