OK, I'm late to the party but I'd like to join for December. I've had an especially full few weeks and am exhausted. Last week I dropped to stricter keto, had increased energy, and have crashed this weekend energy-wise. Less careful with eating Fri/Sat. Not sure if crash is diet-related or just having an overly full week…

I know, I had a hard time even figuring out how to find this group again!

That's what I'm doing, too! I think it went ok today.

Hey, I've been away a long time so I don't know if any of you will remember me. I gradually gained some more weight in the past years. Also dealing with medical problems related to a serious MS attack in March (still in OT and PT trying to at least partially recover), plus having comtracted COVID in March and dealing with…

@sljohnson I've had the same problem recently. I started Intermittent Fasting almost a month ago (also read The Diet Myth and have been incorporating some principles and recommendations from there). This time I did lose about 6 lbs pretty quickly but then bounced back up and it took 3 weeks to finally lose another 0.4 lbs.…

Logged today Carbs within goal Aiming to be in bed by 11 tonight (currently 10 where I am) Also down another 1.5 lbs!

I need this!! I've gained so much weight over the past few years; hit 159, currently at 157 and trying to get back to the 130s. I was around 133 after my first round of keto but I think that may not be the most sustainable weight for me. (5'7" 44y/o female with MS and PCOS) I saw my pulmonologist recently for the first…

Yes. My weight was up and down a bit in January but depending on when you count from, I've gained 12-16 lbs. (I peaked a week ago, have tightened up logging again and have lost 3 lbs so far.) I've had a lot of ups and downs over the past 3 years but my overall trajectory has been up; gained about 22 lbs overall. Now…

That's great! I had prediabetes (major genetic loading; both parents, both grandmothers, two aunts and sister all have/had it) and reversed it with low carb. That was about 8 years ago and my A1C these days is 5.0.
-
I didn't do it but I'm tempted to try it now in Feb. Maybe at least for a week.

Thank you all for the responses. And yeah, those were my thoughts, but it would be nice to find a good direct counterpoint. @FIT_Goat wow, that is wild! I can't imagine.

Oh and sorry, somehow I missed the point about water, coffee or tea the first time.
-
Ok, that sounds doable then. :)

Happy new year!! My goals (health-related goals from my list of goals for 2020): * Do my PT exercises at least 3x/wk * Exercise at least 20 mins at least 3x/wk (ideally running * Go to bed by 10:30 at least 4 nights a week. This is the one I was the worst at in 2019 but I really need to prioritize sleep going forward! *…

I'm toying with the idea. No coffee though?!?!

Just checking in to say I've been hit by a wicked virus so that's thrown me off course for a bit. Hope you all are doing well.

I'm down 1.2 lbs so far! Goal of losing 3 by the end of December is in sight.
-
This is great! I haven't checked in lately and my weight has indeed gone up a few pounds in the past few weeks. OTOH, I ran my first race in two years the Saturday before Thanksgiving (after months of PT) and then ran another one on Thanksgiving morning! For December: * I am determined to hit 140 lbs by 12/31 (loss of…

@psuLemon thanks for sharing. Your creations look amazing and that's impressive progress. :) Is keto going well for your wife, too? It's definitely been beneficial for my PCOS.

Wow yes, I remember you from before (I've been away for a while until recently) and was always intrigued by your posts and thought I remembered you saying that you were a volume eater so low carb didn't work for you. That's interesting that you've ended up keto! Glad it's working for you. Curious how you ended up trying…

I'd gone back to eating the way I ate to lose 20 lbs four years ago (probably considered "dirty keto") and it's been much slower going this time around. I talked to my dr about it recently when I was in for something else. She's doing to check thyroid next time around and suggested I try thyroid support supplements to see…

I hadn't heard of it but I'm intrigued now. Thanks for the rec!

I've experimented with a range over the past 4 years (really longer, since I did Dukan for a while before that). I don't seem to lose weight unless I'm at 50 net or lower, but I can maintain at 50-80 net as long as I stay reasonably active. (43 y/o female with PCOS and MS.)

I need to try making Pho. I love Pasta Zero. I usually make a form of fried noodles with it (egg, veggies, often but not always some type of meat).
-
Mostly no. Hunger levels actually really dropped off.

Btw, I am NOT impressed by how the egg fast is working so far. :/ For context, I've waffled a bit in the 145-147 range for a while. Start of egg fast: 147 (GW: 133) Morning of day 2: 145.4 Morning of day 3: 146.0 Morning of day 4: 145.6 What is going on?! I decided to give it one more day, but I am discouraged that it's…

I'm on day 3 of an egg fast right now. A ground beef diet is suddenly sounding very appealing. ;) I've been struggling to lose weight even doing what worked for me when I first started keto and getting frustrated, trying different things to mix things up. Egg fasts have helped me break through plateaus twice before so I'm…

I love them as an option for my son with nut allergies, but I personally don't eat them. I'm a low-carber though (PCOS and insulin resistance).

Interesting! I tried the Quest sour cream and onion chips and hated them. These might be worth a try though.
