  • First, congratulations for getting started. It was really cool to read such an honest story. I doubt anyone would judge you or be offended by this post. I have felt that way SO many times, where I thought there was no way I could be as big as the scale says. I was down 32 lbs last year and still felt big, and now I've…
  • I've been vegetarian for 4 years and vegan for about 2. For me the easiest way to eat healthy at restaurants is to order sides as my meal, like sauteed veggies and brown rice or quinoa. Maybe a little bit of bread just to satisfy my carb cravings :) Once you figure out how to incorporate more fruits and veggies and not…
  • If there's still room for me I'd love in!
  • I don't see a problem going over your sugar limits if it's coming from fruits. I tend to eat a really high-fruit diet and have lost around 26 lbs doing so. Just try and be careful to not overdo it on the fat :)

  • Im in the same boat... I only went on vacation for 4 days but since then Im 4.5 lbs heavier. I know its not a huge amount but I cant seem to get back on track. You can add me if you'd like :)
  • How is that true? This is one of the stupidest things I've read on here in a while... It seems your only reason for this post is to piss people off or offend them. Who are you to judge their reasons for losing weight?
  • I was wondering how long it would take for some carnivore to troll this... Anyway
  • I know this sounds off from what you asked... but if you want to, read Eat To Live by Joel Furhman. It helps motivate by making you REALLY want to eat healthy, rather than just trying to lose weight. I finished it about a week ago and it's helped me not to rely on willpower to deny myself the foods or helpings that I…
  • Animal protein is loaded with bad cholesterol and saturated fat. According to many of the books I've read on nutrition and weight loss, and also nutrition classes, you don't actually need to combine foods to get all amino acids at once. If you eat a balanced, whole food plant-based diet, with lots of variety, you will get…
  • I think it's great that you don't want to break the good that you've done. If you did want to have ice cream, then I'd say go for it and have a little. But it sounds like you don't really even want to have it. If you can, explain to your friend that you're trying to be healthier and ask if you can find something else to do…
  • I like to not eat anything too heavy the night before or morning of, but I agree that you should eat something you normally eat so that you don't upset your stomach. :) Just pace yourself and have fun, the energy and atmosphere of the race will be good motivation.
  • My newest favorite song for running is Radioactive by Imagine Dragons! I also love Thriftshop - Macklemore How We Do - Rita Ora Zero - Yeah Yeah Yeahs It's Time - Imagine Dragons Could You Believe - ATB Creator - Santogold This Head I Hold - Electric Guest Lose Control - Missy Elliott I Can Transform Ya - Chris Brown She…
  • I used to, just because I was so excited. But then I think I talked about it too much, and I don't want to annoy people. I also got tired of people lying to me saying that I didn't need to lose weight. I know they have good intentions, or maybe they just don't want to be mean. But I know that I need to and I want to be…
  • Out of all the (expensive) ones I've tried, Target capris are my favorite...
  • I'm so sorry to hear that :( I had a bit of that experience for a little while too. Maybe if you just keep at it and don't make a fuss about it to your husband, he will be pleasantly surprised and realize how serious about it you are. Actions speak louder than words, and you're doing a great job :)
  • ^ This. I would love to finally get a swimsuit that I'm not spilling out of. Or a dress that I don't have to adjust. They're heavy, they hurt when you run, and even sleeping sometimes is uncomfortable... I have lost one cup size since starting my weight loss, and I can't wait to hopefully lose another size.
  • Welcome Juju! My advice would be to make your goal losing weight slowly and steadily... It's taken me years and years to accept that, instead of giving up when I don't see results right away. Enjoy the process, and celebrate every success :)
  • When I first went on BC, I gained weight and had crazy mood swings and food cravings. After a few months I tried a different brand with different hormones, and it made a huge difference. When I am on the week of inactive pills, I notice instantly that my body feels and looks different, and I gain 2 lbs easily. I don't know…
  • Having a stranger ask me how far along I was, right after my gym workout :( And then in the same month, helping a customer pick out a tshirt size for a gift for their very large friend, and him saying his friend was about my size. It was too much. I started running 3-4 days a week, barely any distance, but it was enough to…
  • When I first started really trying to lose weight, I just cut back my calories. I lost a few lbs., but after a little while I just stopped losing. I would even be under the calories I was supposed to have- and the scale didn't budge. Then I started running, even just a quarter mile and then some walking, a few days a week.…
  • Yes! Current Weight: 174.6 Goal Weight is 145, but 20 lbs would be awesome!
  • I'm in! Working at a bakery has been really difficult for me lately- I've been giving in and eating too much junk food there lately and I can't seem to get back on track. Hopefully this will help :)
  • Thank you for the inspiration! Your starting weight is 5 lbs less than what I am now and my goal is 145, and I'm also 5'8". It's crazy to see what I could look like when I'm done losing... Awesome job! :)
  • I've had this same experience, but I came across it kind of accidentally. There was a period of a few days where I ate too much, but instead of gaining weight like I feared I would, it actually helped me out of a little plateau :) Good luck!
  • I definitely eat a lot of tofu! There are a lot of different ways to cook it and I can add whatever flavor I want to. Also rice & beans together, because it's a complete protein. Leafy greens and soymilk are also good :)
  • Some of my favorites on my running playlist are: Sail - Awolnation Not Your Fault - Awolnation This Head I Hold - Electric Guest She Doesn't Mind - Sean Paul I Can Transform Ya - Chris Brown My Body - Young the Giant Piece Of Me - Britney Spears (embarrassing, but I love it!) Zero - Yeah Yeah Yeahs Lose Control - Missy…
  • Recently I've been worrying that I am judging people for being overweight, but what I've realized is that it's not judging. It's more of feeling bad for them, because I know how miserable I felt being as big as I was. And now I feel so much better, and I know that if they could only see how simple (not easy, but simple) it…
  • This is EXACTLY what happened to me. For years I hated being fat and miserable and I would complain to no end. I would "try" and fail, but I don't think I was really trying. Then one day I decided to stop being so lazy and pathetic and move my *kitten*. Now I'm 20 lbs down and just completed a half marathon. It can be…
