You can eat oats as they do not contain gluten. Just make sure you purchase oats that are certified as gluten free. Otherwise, the oats may be cross contaminated due to the way they were processed. Typical breakfast for me is 3 eggs and turkey bacon and a piece of homemade gluten free toast. Sometimes I'll do a bowl of…

I've been gluten free for 3 years now (Celiac Dx). There's been a few times I've been glutened. Make sure you read all labels of packaged food. There's a lot of product out there that have gluten in them that is not easily recognized on the label. Obviously wheat, barley and rye are big no-no's. Many food products can…

Exactly my thought too when I read the initial post.

It's pretty obvious...work out. Losing fat requires control of your diet - lifestyle changes that are nutritional as well as including a workout program.

I know you want to surprise her, but she really needs to go in and be fitted. If she is losing weight everywhere, her bra size - band width and cup have probably changed too. Take her into Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillards or Penney's and have her fitted by one of their lingerie specialists. This will work out much better for…

Your HDL cholesterol is in the normal/acceptable range, but you should try to raise your HDL. Get your HDL level up by taking around 2,000Mg daily of high quality…

^^^^^^^ Agree mostly. Since you are new to lifting, I wouldn't suggest the power clean yet. It's a very complex move and you need to be trained properly on the power clean. Work on your squats, bench, deadlift, pendlay barbell rows and pullups (rotate w/forward and reverse grips on different days). Congrats to you for…

Your body is adjusting to the change. Gains in muscle are great! Don't worry what the scale says. You can always start doing weekly or bi-weekly measurements and see the results for yourself on how your body composition is improving. And of course, the mirror never lies! Good luck!

We've found MFP to be a good 25-35% high on estimated calories burned vs actual burned. Unfortunately, I have to advise, don't rely on MFP for those calories burned.

Here's a link for a lot of body weight exercises that you can do at home or while traveling. Many of the exercises are crossfit based. I'm not an advocate of crossfit. However, you can have a really positive outcome with many of these exercises. The first post in the link provided has a PDF document that you can download.…

Ultimately it depends on your strength goals of what you should do and how your body responds to it. If you are wanting to get strong, get on the free weights for your core strength lifts. Here's my typical routine: M - Bench, Squat (both are done with 3 warm up sets at lighter weights then final set is working set to…

I spend around $800 a month in groceries (food only). This is for 2 adults and a 10 year old boy. We only buy fresh produce, meat, and spices, so it gets very expensive. But not buying any processed or packaged food has been quite rewarding for our health benefits. Since I enjoy cooking so much, we only eat out once a week…

And how is this healthy? Just because you post something that is fat free does not mean it is low in calories or carbs. This recipe IS NOT A HEALTHY CHOICE!

Wednesday's are my Dead days. Last week 215x5, today I'm hitting a 220x5. Not too shabby for almost 37 years old, 5'3" and 132 lbs.

Tips: *kitten* to heels. Keep your knees out and drive your heels down into the ground. I suggest to have an experienced lifter work with you to teach you the proper form.

My deadlift at 5 reps is 215lbs and my squat at 5 reps is 175lbs. I have no idea what my 1RM max is currently for either of my lifts.
