I really enjoy the blog Thick Dumpling Skin. It's edited by an Asian-American woman who works in the entertainment industry (I think she does a mixture of acting and modeling?) and discusses the intense pressures on us to be terrifyingly thin. It's nice to know that you aren't alone. http://www.thickdumplingskin.com

I don't really drink anymore. I order a seltzer or sprite *in a rocks glass* with a wedge of lime. Looks like a gin and tonic. No one has to know. Ditto for a coke. Just make sure it's in a rocks glass. Or, tell them you're on some sort of medication that doesn't mix with alcohol. Like for migraines or back pain, whatever.…

My husband and I hadn't lived with our parents for a combined total of 15ish years when we married. Needless to say, we didn't need anything that you could register for (toasters, towels, etc). On our invitation, we wrote something along the lines of, "We're fortunate enough to have a lovely, tiny home filled with…

I have a love/hate relationship with my pear shape...fortunately, A-line skirts can usually save the day!

Ah! We had cucumber water at our wedding reception and it was so wonderful and refreshing. Hiking is a really good idea, too!

Oh, bubble bath! I like that one!

Today I'm eating carrot sticks and roasted almonds. Yesterday I ate Kashi Go Lean with unsweetened almond milk. Also, steel cut oats! http://ohsheglows.com/2011/09/20/make-ahead-steel-cut-oatmeal-4-new-oatmeal-recipes/

$300 per month, for 2 vegetarians. We eat out about once or twice per month, so the grocery budget is the large majority of our food. ETA: I aim to eat 1300 calories, but haven't tracked in awhile and honestly have no idea. My husband is probably closer to 1800-2000.

Right on with Lola: any liquor + soda water. I like to add a (tiny!) splash of juice for color and a little sweetness.

This is an awesome thread, thanks! Stolen from an MFP much smarter than myself: "When you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, squat!"

It's crazy to see the diversity of kryoptonite here. I could turn down a glass of fine wine SO EASILY, but put a chocolate cookie in front of me? Watch out. Makes you wonder why you crave some foods and not others.

Good morning all, Thank you for the awesome suggestions! I should have mentioned that my class is in a park (outside! awesome!), so I can't leave my mat there (boo). I've taken the dilemma to my handy, DIY fiance who sketched some neat ideas. Will keep everyone posted!

Maybe you can combine the bean salad and marinated veggie salad into one dish? That could alleviate your salad dressing problem. You could try making a simple peanut dressing for the leafy salad and omit the seeds on top. This is a tough one! I wish I could help more!

I'm 5'2" and fluctuate between 114 and 118. I aim for 1300-1400 calories daily...although after reading the posts of others, I'm considering upping it a bit.

Congrats, girl! I've been arbitrarily creating fitness challenges - fun things unrelated to weight. On my To Do List: 1. Run a 7 minute mile. 2. Do a chinup, then a pullup. 3. Take an aerials class. 4. Complete a triathlon. 5. Take a swimming class (I want to learn kayaking, but I'm scared.) 6. Complete the New Rules of…
