  • I am fortunate enough to have an iphone and on the app you can actually scan the bar codes of the things you eat which is what I go by. When there are no bar codes to scan I always opt for the highest just in case
  • Thanks so much for everyone's suggestions - it's been most helpful.....I am envious of all the nice brands you have in the US, will have to see what I can find that similar here in the UK.
  • Hi - I have soup and a small bread roll for lunch for convenience more than anything else as I then do not have to worry about packed lunch.....and I find that especially in winter it is very satisfying to have, almost like comfort food. Have not tried it purely for weight loss but a lunch like this is typically around…
  • I am not sure what the right answer is but I work out first thing in the morning (around 05h00) and cannot do so on an empty stomach.....so I have a small dairy free home made fruit smoothie (banana & berry) before I start and then a protein shake as breakfast about 30-40 minutes after.
  • Once a week, first thing in the morning after taking a wee and preferably nude (every bit helps!) - otherwise if your weight fluctuates because of water etc you might feel discouraged....
  • Hi - good luck and hang in there! I started end of April, attempted to do it in 30 days straight but on day 2 of level 2 I got such horrible knee pain that I had to stop for a few days. This was due to my own stupidity so just be sensible :-)
  • I find that having a meal plan really helps as you only buy what you need in the quantities that you need it and there is less wastage of fresh stuff that way. Also saves having to figure out what to make for dinner/packed lunch! At the moment I have 3 x 2 weekly cycles that I use for us, change it seasonally to allow for…
  • Thanks for these BUMP!
  • Well done!! I also realised this morning that I lost a stone :-)
  • Thanks for sharing - am downloading it as we 'speak' :-)
  • Hi Everyone - there is a 30 Day Shred May group that you might like to join - all the peeps there have started beginning of May :-) I am on day 7 of level 1, just soldier on through the pain on the first days it does get better! But then again I am also determined to do the entire 30 days straight to finish with one…
  • WELL DONE!!! That's a great start.
  • I weigh once a week (on a Monday morning of all days!) and take measurements on Thursday evenings. That's 2 potential feel good days a week :-)
  • Thanks - I know right, I was very surprised that he actually commented. And the Yorkie is of course ours and in the running for title of World's Most Spoiled Dog ;-)
  • I have always had a problem with my weight and have had the usual ups and downs and yo-yoing for at least the last decade - I always used food as a crutch, typical emotional eater type stuff. Recently I have just been getting bigger and bigger and instead of addressing it just bought bigger and bigger clothes. My breaking…
  • Hi - it is SO worth it....and have a look on Amazon, I got a great bargain for a 4 pack of her DVD's a couple of weeks ago and paid £16 for 30 Day Shred, 6 week 6 pack, Ban Fat Boost Metabolism and No more trouble zones. I am only on day 7 of level 1 now (started last week) and can already feel and see a change in my body…
  • Well done!!! Keep it up!
  • Well done you!! I am on day 5 now and seeing your results really make me even more determined to stick with it and complete the 30 days non stop (which will end just before we go away on holiday so I will rest then).
  • I LOVE MFP, even have hubby on it now :-) Joined in January but did not really take it serious until about midway through March and since then it has helped me shed 11lbs! And educated me on how to make better food choices.
  • I take: 1 x zinc (it's good for especially stress, during more stressful times you can take 2 and helps build immune system) 1 x Vit C (for immune) 1 x Vir D3 (the sunshine tablet) 1 x omega 3/6/9 (we have rheumatism in the family, my mum's specialist told her it's good for me to start that now already) 2 x osteocare (for…
  • Oh that's s good to hear! I started level 1 this morning and have aches in places I did not even know existed on my body! Did enjoy the workout though, struggled a bit to keep up but am sure that in a couple of days I will be able to do everything without feeling borderline asthmatic :-)
  • My allowance is 1440 - breakfast is usually round 400 - 450 and lunch round 300. I try not to have more than 600 for dinner and the rest I use for snacks, usually one mid morning (I have breakfast before 07h00 thus feel peckish from around 10h30) and then another mid-late afternoon to make sure I am not starving by the…
  • WOW!!! Well done. I am starting tomorrow and very excited (also a bit nervous!) about it! Bought the 4 pack that includes No more Trouble Zones, Boost Metabolism and Banish Fat and the 6 Pack in 6 weeks on sale on Amazon and am so impatient for it to arrive that I have decided to start with 30DS level 1 on Youtube tomorrow…
  • I have lost 11lbs (5kg) since March 20th by simply making sure that I stick to the calories MFP have calculated for me (1440/day) and power walking for at least 30 minutes a day 4-5 times a week (this burns on average 230 calories per session). Since I have a desk job I have set myself on sedentary and just log all the…
  • Yes and yes!! That is how I started getting into it a month ago as I am (was) not the fittest of people and it really works. I am now up to power walking for at least 30 minutes 4-5 days a week and also log all the bits of walking I do in between on a daily basis (like from home to the bus stop etc) It's now been just a…
  • 2 bananas 150g frozen blueberries 150g frozen raspberries 1 mango 375 ml fruit juice (apple/mango/guava) Makes about 6 x 250ml smoothies, keeps VERY well in the fridge and 105 calories each.
  • Oliver - 2 years Yorkshire terrier :-)
  • If you have an iPhone, get the app and use the scanner function (for barcode) when adding your food - that is how I have built up my foods that I use regularly and know that it's accurate. I find the array of choices on the MFP database confusing at times.
  • Blimey - I had NO idea that I would open such a can of worms! Thank you for everyone that gave genuine feedback and comments, I found it most helpful......unlike those who just fancied a rant and questioned why I wanted to know more in the first instance!
