  • You can actually get them so they look more "office-like" if professionalism is an issue. http://goo.gl/qx2Z8 , though these http://goo.gl/PHst1 have the same effect and are considered safer for the office setting.
  • Won't your doctor write a note? Why not?
  • If she's just as beautiful natural, show us natural. You can't look like the photos you posted because no one on earth can.
  • Yes, I replied to someone who asked you for her name. If she had to ask, I assume she doesn't know it. How she could know how someone whose name she doesn't know looks is still my question.
  • Why not post the unphotoshopped images? And how do you know they're not altered? Oh, I promise you there are images that are photoshopped that you won't be able to tell aren't natural simply by looking at them., but posed and lit is usually a good clue. You will need to look at the metadata at least.
  • Thanks for the anecdotal evidence. What you and your friends experienced doesn't really prove anything. Most of my friends who were abused emotionally/psychologically/ sexually, including me, did not develop eating disorders. The difference is age. My generation didn't see all the "perfect" images so we developed different…
  • ^^^THIS^^^ Best advice on this thread!
  • You don't know her name or who she is but you somehow KNOW her body is amazing and it's not all photoshop? HOW? I assure you a good photographer can make YOU look just like that. Right now, as you are.
  • So what? Then obtain an unretouched photo of her and shoot for that. I assure you she doesn't look like the pictures here in real life. YOU CAN'T LOOK LIKE THAT! Even SHE doesn't look like that! Set an obtainable goal. And I meant, does the girl in the video I posted look like that or is it all photoshop. (Hint: It's ALL…
  • It's not hate. It's that young women now set their goals to look like impossible photoshopped images instead of wanting to look like real people. Real they could achieve, perfect they can't. THIS is why EDs are so rampant. Young women can't be satisfied with looking like an achievable goal, they are assuming they can look…
  • Are you sure? http://goo.gl/TLUTS Does SHE have an amazing body too, or is ia all photoshop?
  • Those are professional photos. To look like that you need to develop ninja-like skills with photoshop. REAL people have imperfections, and any time you see a professionally shot pic of a celebrity or model, it's been photoshopped.
  • Diet drinks with SUCROSE? You're joking, right? Sucralose, perhaps, but not sucrose. Sucrose is the "other sugar" in HFCS; the majority sugar in HFCS usually. It's usually 55% sucrose / 45% fructose. Sucrose is the sugar in table sugar like cane sugar. Diet foods contain either artificial sweeteners like aspartame,…
  • How are these different from diet soda? Both the "flavored waters" and the diet soda contain carbonated water, artificial sweetener and natural and artificial flavor. Read the label. Just because they give it a different name doesn't make it something different. Those flavored waters ARE diet sodas!
  • Because her list is less helpful if she's got another problem? It looks like a lot of people found her list helpful and she hasn't broken the rules with this post--it's NOT pro-ana in any way. If her tumblr is, that's another thing, but this post does nothing to promote extreme dieting. I fail to see why it's appropriate…
  • Yeah, and there are brands other than Miracle Noodle. Nooodle, Skinny Noodle, Konjac. They're sold in my local supermarkets (Nooodle brand), but I gotta say, I don't find that the smell, which is truly horrific, goes away when rinsed. I don't like the things myself. But if you could make yourself eat them, they'd be a…
  • I agree. The idea that confidence only comes when you've lost weight or think you look better bothers me. You should love and respect yourself at any size and no matter your appearance. It doesn't matter what anyone but YOU thinks about yourself.
  • Maybe it's time to not care what anyone else thinks. I'm shocked that you consider "people's thoughts and gazes" to be "traumatic." I do lots of things I know other people stare at--my wardrobe is pretty darned unique, I walk with a cane but ride a motorcycle and motorcycle camp--alone. I know I look pretty stupid setting…
  • I weigh at work. My boss gets upset if I do it naked.
  • Then someone's not using the <sarcasm></sarcasm> tags!
  • Yeah. And don't drink any plain water, make sure it all has caffeine.
  • Doncha love how every "lose weight without dieting" diet aid comes bundled with...a diet?
  • There is no magical way to lose weight. You eat fewer calories than you burn and you lose one pound for every 3500 calories fewer you eat. There is no peer-reviewed evidence that raspberry ketones, or any of the thousands of other pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo weight loss aids, work.
  • I suspect that is the cause of your meaninglessness. You expect to be able to control the entire world. This is an internet forum. You don't "own" a thread just because you start it. You label all dissent "argumentative," despite dissent being the best way for knowledge to grow.
  • Yes, we all get to determine if our lives are meaningful. My issue is that you are attributing meaninglessness to atheism in the same way xians ascribe meaning and morality to xianity. If your life lacks meaning, the lack is in you, not in your atheism. You seem to have this need to assign your meaninglessness to atheism…
  • It's funny, when I was growing up (in the 1960s) i assumed I was fat because I was 155 pounds. I see pictures now and realize this wasn't true, but if you're told you're "overweight" you see fat in the mirror, even if it's not there. I blame the constant dieting (to try and be the 120 pounds my 5'0" mother was) for the…
  • Corrected punctuation and post duplicated. Sorry.
  • There is a formula, but just use an online calculator. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ I'd be willing to bet yours is at least 1500 calories/day.
  • Lower even than that. It's what your body would burn if you were in a coma. If you get up, even if you sit on the couch and watch TV all day, you'll burn ~10% to ~20% more than that.
  • 1200 calories is considered the lower limit, not the upper limit. At 143, losing 2 pounds a week really isn't feasible. You're too close to your goal. Try 1 pound/week or half a pound/week for long term success.
