  • Hi Briana, welcome to the group! Sorry, it's a bit quiet in here. Great blog, and great to see how you're keeping on top of things, keep it up! I blogged privately for a few months during and after treatment for cervical cancer last year. It was such a help, both for me to get things off my chest, and I for the friends and…
  • Thanks for your reply Lingenft. I'm jealous of your gym, sounds great. I've being keeping up with the resistance bands and trying out yoga - so far so good!
  • Bump to promote the group: 21 members already! Let's support each other - speaking for myself this is going to get hard ;-)
  • I made us a group! Come join: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/9444-no-weigh-november Kat x
  • That's what I'm doing soon as I get home tonight! Weighed myself yesterday: still stuck at 169lb. Hoping for 167 by end of month but will settle for any loss at all! I'd like to see a group for this too and would be happy to start one, but don't want to step on loliblullama's toes so will PM her first...
  • I'm in! Trying to shift the last few pounds and I'm going up and down and all over the place and it's driving me nuts. Definitely time to put the scales away for a few weeks and just concentrate on eating well and getting my exercise in. Shall we report back on 1 Dec with progress?
  • nude. "Potato", he said, and
  • Awesome! You HAVE to get us a picture of that ;-)
  • Same here. Even at my chubbiest I've always had skinny wrists and ankles, all the weight sat around my middle and I hid it quite well, so a lot of people didn't notice anything until they hugged me! Now though, I've splashed out on a whole heap of lovely new clothes that FIT PROPERLY (woo hoo!) and more folk are commenting…
  • Hi Barbie & welcome! How are you finding it so far?

  • Welcome Kate and congrats on your very good start :-)
  • From 195lb to 173lb. Not as dramatic as some of the amazing images above - congrats everyone! - and still a little way still to go, but oooh I'm happy :-)
  • Ha ha! Genius idea ;-)
  • That Livestrong programme sounds fantastic! Wish I could find something similar here in Scotland...
  • Me! Me! This time last year I was in hospital every day for radiotherapy, and once a week for chemo. Cervical cancer. Yucky times. All clear since October though, and making the most of the change of attitude these things often bring. Attitude and MFP helped me lose the 16lb I put on during and after treatment in 16 weeks,…
  • Resistance bands are nice and quite for strength training without weights clonking around!
  • Genius! I'm nicking that ;-) A cockney acquaintance referred to me as 'that long bird' a few times (long=tall, bird=girl). I loved it and have used it as my self-imposed nickname ever since. I grew up in Milton Keynes where my height was not that unusual, so the bullies found other things to call me. Now though I live in…

  • Fascinating website, thanks for the tip! I'm 5'10" and learned long ago not to tell people how much I weighed because they simply refused to believe me. Now I'm taking control of it, I just tell 'em how much I've lost and how much is still to go, which gets the positive responses I'm after ;-) Was delighted to find out…
  • I've got a couple of super-high pairs but I'm not great at walking in them, just through lack of practice. I only wear them if I can get away with wearing flats to and from the club/event whatever, and know I'll be able to sit down! I do love how they look though.

  • Hi Sandy Me too! Have sent you a friend request... Kat (longbird)
  • In the UK, New Look do great jeans in 35" and 36" lengths, though they seem to been cutting back the rest of their 'Tall' range at the moment, which is very frustrating. Would be v interested to hear of anywhere else... Cheers Lb
  • I put on a stone last year after an eight week course of chemoradiotherapy for cervical cancer left me exhausted and unable to exercise or eat properly for months. See my profile for more details. When my energy levels started to improve in January I joined MFP, got back on the Wii Fit and am now a little lighter than I…
  • I am a tall (long) girl (bird).
  • True, but telling folk "I've lost a baby!" with a big grin on my face is going to get my some veeeery strange looks... My vacuum cleaner weighs 5.5kg = 12lb so think I'll go for "I've lost a Dyson!"
  • Wow! That's a great way to think of it :-) Now what weighs 12lbs...?
  • That's got to be worth a try, thanks!
  • Hello ladies! I've been using MFP since the middle of January, but this is my first foray into the forums. Great to find some fellow tall lasses  I'm 33 years old, 5'10", and working back towards my ideal weight of 160lb, which as an active youth I hardly ever went over until I 'grew up' and got a desk job 7 years…
