  • I understand you. I don't work outside the house, but there always seems to be 1,000 things to do and I don't have time to just do something for me because something else takes priority. Good luck in finding "you" time!
  • It is a tragedy no matter how you look at it and the media compounds on any tragedy to make it newsworthy. They take an angle that is sure to get the people's emotions involved and make it the 6 o'clock news. The media rarely report facts and they put so much opinion into it that it isn't reporting what happened anymore.
  • I had my gallbladder removed a couple of years ago. I know that at the time I'd heard people going on medicine after the surgery and that would cause some weight gain. I have to admit that I've been lucky with the fact that I've not had many problems, then again I have for years before that and still since avoid certain…
  • Use this site how and you will lose. It is easy and following it leads you to weight loss the right way.
  • I know the one thing I've been cautioned on is eating back your "exercise calories". I'm not sure how this fits in to what you're doing, but that could be something you just make sure that you're keeping track of as well. When you put in your meals in MFP and you put in your exercise calories that you burn you can always…
  • Started in January of 2012 - I've lost 50 pounds, my husband has lost over a hundred. This site is perfect and if you follow the setup you'll lose. Like you say, you got to start somewhere!
  • Throwing a little caution to you, you're looking at 12 weeks by the time your graduation goes around. Don't do this unhealthily or you could damage your body's metabolism. Make sure you always get at least 1200 calories in or your body goes into starvation mode. If you got college going on then you probably got studying…
  • I just started about 3 years ago and I live for it every year. I look at a ton of websites depending on what I want to find out, lol. Pinterest has a lot of cool ideas for anything and I have seen some very nice gardening ideas. I have purchased some unique seeds from Burpees online to grow. I have put out a garden in my…
  • Buy winter squash and cook it in the oven and make a soup out of it. Watch your grocery ads and focus on what produce or lean meats are on sale. Our local grocery store had pork loin 1.98/pound and at 130 claories per 4 ounces that is perfect.
  • On sandwiches I use it instead of sliced cheese. I use it on english muffins with an egg. I used it with miracle noodles and almond milk to make a cheesy flavored gravy. With almond milk at only 30 calories a cup it was delicious with a hint of flavor and no need to add extra salt. I've used it on crackers and with chips.
  • I would love to grow things on a vine, but they take over my garden. I don't know how to grow them outside of the garden either, something to think about before planting season. I'd love to try and grow pumpkins again and other squash. Anyone ever try growing them on something?
  • That is awesome Simon! I couldn't write poetry to save my life, but it is fascinating to read.
  • Good luck in working on the book!
  • Poetry has always fascinated me, but I can't do it for the life of me. I give you a lot of credit for doing that. And hey sticking with the novel even though you are struggling is determination.
  • Writing is my passion and while I do it for fun, I do a lot of it in my spare time. It is so fun to be daydreaming or thinking of something and I put it down on paper and I never forget about that particular idea. Then later on I might have another idea and I go back and write something else about it.
  • I write all the time, but honestly...I don't finish much of what I write. No idea why, I work on it to a point and then from time to time I come back and work on a story. I have 300+ stories I have that are in process, lol.
  • I love gardening myself. I only started it when we moved to southern Tennessee as I became a stay at home mom. I live for the summers where I can spend a lot of time in my garden. I do a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, all kinds of peppers and strawberries. This year we are going to try Tomatillo's…
  • I don't think you are. Flirting is fine if you're single, I'm sorry if you are in a relationship I don't think you should. Especially if he knows that you don't think it is okay why would he continue to do it. If there's nothing to hide he should have been straight up with you to begin with. If you're the one and he wants…
  • I haven't tried it, but my question would be how long can you do this? And if you do it for a time period how is your body going to react once you stop eating these things? Will you put the weight back on?
  • I do the 1200 calories a day, but that is my motivation to exercise so I get more calories to eat. I did 2 hours of bike today for 800 calories, so instead of the 1200, I get 2000. But I do fruit (berries), pretzels (pretzel sticks you get quite a few) and of course drink a lot of water. I would say make sure you are…
  • Your minimum calorie intake should be 1200 no matter what. Your daily routine, steps and whatever else you do will show up on fitbit because you do burn calories through the day with being active. If you think they are too high because you didn't do too much then don't eat them, but if you were active, shopping or taking a…
  • What an achievement you've made. Obviously you are doing the right thing and getting fantastic results.
  • You know what's going on so that is half the battle. I've battled depression for years and sometimes its better than others. Sometimes its worse than others and if you have it its hard to explain to people (my husband included) how you just feel down when there may be no reason for it. Right now I'm suffering from pink eye…
  • I do everything from my phone pretty much and always keep it handy so i can normally scan the foods i'm eating. I figure this way I know exactly how many calories I'm eating and what I'm doing in the way of losing weight. Motivation for me is the fact I want to lose the weight and I've lost a little over 25 pounds so far…
  • The whole working from home thing is a huge plus as a lot of people would love the opportunity to do this and I fully understand with that incentive it is hard to make a decision on what to do. If the work they are doing is legal and doesn't harm anyone then is this more about how you are reacting to them on a personal…
  • When I first started this different way of eating I took forever in the grocery store. I looked at everything I bought and wanted to buy and checked the calories out. I buy very lean meat now and gave up on most frozen foods because the calorie content is high. I buy a lot more from the produce section than I have in the…
  • I think your issue of trust is probably due to a lot of your past and how you were treated, but for your future you either have to admit you trust this man or not. If you do trust him and you want a future with him you need to put 150% of yourself into this relationship to make it work. Insecurities are something everyone…
  • 100% been there and thought that. I always always always try to avoid any pictures taken. We had family photos taken a year or so ago and looking at myself in those I knew then that there was problems, but I wasn't ready to do something about it. We'd over the years made good decisions, got rid of our deep fat fryer and…
  • Read your labels for the nutrition content and stay within your calorie goals for the day. Remember you have to at least reach a certain amount or your body will go into starvation mode. Throw in some exercise, but your net calories still need to reach 1200 I want to think it is before going into starvation. I've found…
  • I know! It seems that what we want to lose is a huge reach, but I just started in January and I'm down 22 pounds. I don't diet because I can't stand them and I'll fail. I've learned to weigh my food, and although it is a pain it really has helped. I look at the nutrition content of everything I buy. I don't go to a gym,…
