I'd probably get a tattoo a month if I had the money!! My legs are completely covered and my upper back. The only ones that were uncomfortable were the ones on the center of my ankle.....some ones I practically fell asleep during!

Why aren't these periodic tables in high school cafeterias??

I struggled for 20 years up and down...then lost 80lbs in 8 mos. (nutrition/exercise only) and became a part time personal trainer, and due to personal drama, torn disc in my back, and turning 40 (hormones/stress), I gained 40 lbs. back! So it's a never ending battle, and when your mentally defeated it's hard, then add…

I'm just like a ticking time bomb....I've had functional problems for years. I just overdid it after having a false sense of security. I'm feeling better now, and doing little things. After a year of physical therapy, I don't know what else to do. I'm just really bummed today, because a good friend got in a bike…

Keep it up! I blew out my back yet again Thursday, so I'm on injured reserved, yet again! I'm taking a few days off, and hopefully I can add some things back in.

Hello, Not sure if gluten is what bugs my stomach, but I stay away from breads, flours and most things that have gluten. Sourdough bread is the one I can tolerate, but I find it addictive and stay away from it too. I guess you could say I either eat food that you can hunt, or food that you can pull out of the ground. It's…

Keep ON keeping on! :)

It's a blessing and a curse.....since it's so high in sugars it's good to stay away...I notice it's highly addictive though. I miss pizza, but I will eat it maybe a couple times a year and pay the consequences later. I use things like coconut flour and almond meal to make some bakery items I love....my favorite recipe is…

Yes I did, but of course, I wasn't cooking my own food, so ate things that weren't the best for my system. One of the good things about coming home from vacation is being in control of cooking. I tortured myself with bread...literally.....it really aggravates my stomach when I eat it....granted it's a reminder to not eat…

Oh You and I are so alike!! I SO HEAR you on the one's that don't want to hear the truth! I always tell people, if you go on this site, there is a lot of garbage out there in terms of what to do to get results. I really hate when people focus on the weight or the looks. How about a healthy, fit, lifestyle?? They want quick…

Funny, that's a rant I have done more than once! And sad thing is, this discrimination keeps happening!! In an earlier blog, I talk about this woman that was attacked by another woman about being too fat to be a pro basketball cheerleader! You are totally right about women being conditioned to be weak. The boys on the…

You'd be shocked how intense water aerobics can be. (And in a good way) It saves your joints and is a lot of fun!

"Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That's what little girls are made of; the heck with sugar and spice.” ― Bethany Hamilton I just got this quote on a tank top...with first sentence on front, and 2nd on back. I think that's where we all. We define ourselves, not by society. It's…

Yes, my music varies as well! When I'm lifting I tend to go for metal or hard rock. Then I'll listen to Classical or Soundtracks when I'm doing the speed bag when boxing. Anything with a high b.p.m helps with metabolic conditioning for sure. Focusing on form is definitely a yes! By the way, I read your profile, and glad to…

HI There, I"m an old bitty (42) who has aspirations of fighting one fight someday. I've sparred, but right now I'm dealing with two injuries, but I won't give up the fight to fight someday! I still train 5-6 days a week around my injuries :) I have a torn disc in my back and now I have a knuckle/hand injury. Just do what I…

It is cool that she is known as Thor's daughter! I went to the CrossFit games in '11 & '12 and it was awesome to see her and the other women compete! It is frustrating to be stalled on a lift. Have you ever tried to do more reps at a lower weight? I'm just envious that you are lifting heavy...I'm lifting like 65 lbs! :(…

@ Neander...! I love powerlifts...granted I'm injured so I'm reduced to little weight, but I try to keep with proper form. :) CrossFit is great! Ann Thors...whatever her last name is...she's awesome! ;) I am level I trainer certified, and am trying to work to my 180-200 lb deadlift... @Cristina.....glad you are motivated…

Update....now along with my torn disc, I have a tendon, capsule problem in my hand/knuckles which is taking me away from boxing.....just another injury to deal with! I'm taking some time off punching, but still am working through everything. I am the type of person that rather spend 4 hours in the gym and not eat that…

I have a lame dental plan, but its also hard because i have no one one to pick me up from the dentist as they won't let you drive after. @chocoholicdiv.....hang in there!!

Dental health is very important too.....when they are issues there it can affect the entire body system! Sorry to hear it was that bad, but at least you are feeling better! I have impacted molars that I cannot afford to remove and I get bad headaches sometimes!

Well I guess with all of us...we're not alone. During these times its all a mental test more than anything. Just NEVER SAY NEVER! The only limits we face are the ones we put on ourselves. There will always be obstacles, but with perseverence and determination nothing is impossible even when people say you can't...it's all…

It sounds like you overtrain and that's why no matter what sport you do, you deal with injuries. I am my own worst enemy and have had injuries due to overuse and being overzealous. It sounds like you need to work on the mental aspect of what you are trying to do, and I say that because I'm facing the same problems. I have…

I was very overweight and yes it's irritating, but everyone has their own body image issues. I actually have had more people criticize my body at my "goal" weight then when I was 230 lbs! I think my message is that everyone needs to realize that health is the true reason to change, not looks. There are many people that are…

I've had venison in stew and it's not bad....but I have to say BUFFALO is awesome!!! Pretty lean and the fat that is on it, tastes like butter! :) Yummy!!! I've had it as a steak and also as a ground burger.

When the urge to eat for the wrong reasons starts...first take a walk around the block before you make a choice to eat. The endorphins from the walk might make you feel better and more apt to not eat. Also if you do eat...eat something like celery w peanut butter. REmember it is YOUR choice to fall into that trap. I know…

Over the year, I've had to do lots of things to stay motivated. Sometimes it was dangling a "carrot" as an incentive....being Itunes gift cards, or making up challenges with myself, or literally having others hold me accountable! I literally asked my fav. coffee shop to hang a picture of me stating, "Do not feed this woman…

It took me over 20 years to finally shed the weight. Nutrition is huge! If you don't eat right, then don't even bother exercising. It will be a mental challenge more than anything.....you have to ask yourself.....does that Twinkie really benefit me? Does eating everything on my plate benefit me? It takes total commitment…

First of all F off the people that discourage you. It hurts when its people close to you, but tell them to F off. This is YOUR journey and if they can't handle it, then they need to deal with it. I've heard so much crap from family, friends, strangers.....you just need to stay the course and stay committed. Don't cut your…

Let it go...don't beat yourself up...take it as a loss...and learn from it. It happens...bumps (or hot dogs) in the road! :) Keep your chin up and redirect yourself tomorrow.

He's not worth it. I wasted my life on a "part time" situation and it ended up being 20 years with no commitment!! There are better fish in the sea and take alone time to regroup, spend time with your kids and enjoy life! :)
