  • I went from a size 18 to a 16 and now a 14 and the scale is barely moving. It goes up 4lbs down 6lbs up 2lbs down 3lbs. I hate the damn scale !!! Im going with how I feel in my clothes.. and btw my arms and legs went before anything in my waist :( Not quick enough but hey, I didn't get big over night either >.<
  • So proud of you girl!! Keep up the good work.. you look fabulous!!
  • Awesome page, I "liked" it .. very motivational and thank you for posting recipes etc.. Great ideas and a great share! Thank you so much!
  • Ellie.. exactlyyyy, the key is to eat a healthy amount of calories for your current height, weight and lifestyle (ie. deskjob, activity range etc) Also what many people forget is the MACROs they are VITAL. You must hit your macros, protein, carbs and fat are very very important, so the cals you are eating must be within…
  • I'm 5'4" and also 200lb, I have a muscular build under the fat thanks to genetics. 200 seems to be the stumbling point for me as well. I figured I would try this eat more thing and since I knew I didn't gain weight over night, I knew that upping the cals to lose wasn't going to work over night either. It took me years to…
  • Just a thought, but it seems to me that if you weren't losing at the lower cals, and you aren't losing (just bouncing around) at the higher cals, then its not the cals, it must be something else. My reasoning is because if it were the higher cals then you would gain gain gain, no? It sounds like you need to change either…
  • Bravo!!!
  • Agreed, I was kinda referring to the kids and the rest of the people that joined in on the walk. I suppose I should have used "role model" instead. Basically, you've just opened up the whole family to getting involved with each other and involved in health with each other. Community and the "push" we give each other is…
  • It seems like too often people that know the way, don't take the time to show others. All it takes is one person to get the whole community involved. Share what you've learned with others and you'll learn more yourself.
  • Thanks guys. This is helpful. I normally do 30 min treadmill (nothing too hard) squeeze it in prior to work. Grab some yogurt or a protein shake on the way to work which is generally within 30-45 min of the workout (after the shower :) I was just wondering if the food before the 30 was necessary because I've read so much…
  • "Bump" or any other comment just causes the topic to go to the front of the list for the community section, so people don't have to sift through a bunch of topics to get to this one.
  • The reason I am here is because my IRL friend told me about it. I thank her every day for introducing me to such a helpful application. I have since told many of my friends and family about this app as well. My mother joined up with me too. I have nothing to hide from anyone and enjoy the peace I have from living in truth…
  • Thank you so much for this post. Sometimes I need to be reminded that its a journey... it doesn't happen overnight. Thanks again for sharing and good luck on reaching your final goal.
  • Thanks, I'm a bit lazy so I went with the quick alternative and you're right its got sucralose on the last part of the label. Damn sugar - the enemy lol. I'll probably keep using them for right now until I get myself more organized about preparing my meals ahead of time and such. 20 days in so far so I'm making my…
  • What do you think about the GNC Lean shakes?
  • I c. Yeah I've never done either of those. I did get the GNC Lean Shake they come in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry and offer 25g of protein with only 170cals, 6g fat and 6g carbs. Also offers 25% of all vitamins. http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4371946 I normally have one of those in the morning and use…
  • Welcome! and good luck girl! Question.. how did you come up with 1200 as your daily calorie goal? I eat 1300 calories and im 107lbs. Dont you get hungry? I know I do at only 1300. Also tips would be to stop drinking the slimfast shakes! Instead buy a whey protein and mix in some almond milk. Slimfast shakes have alot of…
  • Thanks - and anyone here please feel free to add me. I'm really active on this site and am very interested in health and nutrition. I keep my diary open for advice and love to here how people are doing in their lives.
  • Hi, welcome.. I'm glad you're here. Just remember, it took you many years to put on the weight, so it will take you a while to take it off properly. Don't get discouraged on bad days, just remember tomorrow is another day. Don't be afraid of the scale; if you're hungry eat... just eat the right foods in good portions. It's…
  • Protein is good.. if you go over its no big deal. I think MFP has it set kinda low anyway, from what I read its 1g protein per pound. (ie you weigh 200lbs you should be getting 200g protein) I personally feel that is even high so I do body weight - 10 and use that as my protein goal (ie 200lbs-10 = 190g protein). Anyway,…
  • Wow thank you.. I've never thought about using the protein shakes (maybe the vanilla bean lean shake) in my coffee as a substitute for the creamer (higher sugar content). You just helped me out big time.. I've been struggling with lowering the sugar intake and you've just cut it by 15g for me .. you rock! lol
  • Awesome Idea! I never thought about almonds.... thanks!
  • I can't see your diary, but from what I've heard its better to have protein in the morning to kick start the metabolism and start feeding your muscles. Both protein and fiber are very important. It's a huge balancing act and if you're serious about getting balanced you'll do a lot of research on the subject via google etc.…
  • 37 :) Feel free to add me.
  • Sounds fair, thanks. I guess I'll have to figure out what my goals should really be and make adjustments.
  • Thanks, I'm more wondering what are the correct#s; how to determine them or just leave default. OR is the goals something a physician should set for you? Im just wondering where they get the #s for default from and if they are correct.
  • Yeah, Im totally OCD when it comes to balancing #s so the red is screaming at me too lol. Hopefully someone else can answer that question for us. Thanks for reading this either way..
  • " Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well perserved body, but rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy ****!!...... what a ride!" I read that and thought, how true.. to experience all that life has to offer.. so I dont want to squander it with unhealthy activitiy, I want to use my…
  • All of the above is right, use some weight training as well as cardio. Also.. what EXACTLY are you eating? You mentioned christmas eating, but I cannot see your diary so Im not sure. It could be either not enough food, or youre portion sizes aren't correct. You may want to watch portion sizes, as well as your water intake.…
