I am 5'8 but weigh more than you lol I eat about 1850+ per day to fuel strength training so depending on what you are doing for exercise (if any) should determine how you eat :)

Only thing I will add here is that I NEVER trust the scales at my docs... never.... clothes, shoes, purse, mid day... no way.... Get your own scales to keep track if that is how you want to track.

Love this! 1. My underwire in my bra snapped.... for reals! 2. Ruptured Brain Aneurysm in 2014 and had brain surgery 3. Getting ready for brain surgery #2 because apparently I can't take a hint But here again to finish and be in control!

Same as the last two.. I am a numbers geek so I do it daily and track it... fun to watch it go up and down but see the trend remain downward

Not failing.. learning! Failing only happens when you don't try!!

And what the actual weights of the items are .. measurements don't mean anything as they can change with each scoop, but weight is constant. You can see by my diary, I eat a lot of food :) I lose that way and it is my sweet spot at the moment.

If I was you (and I speak as myself), I would start with higher calories and figure out where I need to be to still lose and eat as much as I want... I like to eat A LOT so I always look for the biggest bang. I bet you could do 1700 cals pretty easy and still lose... The caveat to that is tracking everything precise: using…

Do you do any exercise?

Since nothing is weighed out in grams, too hard to tell if it is too much food. Also like everyone else said, not knowing any info is flying blind and your stuff is all private so we couldn't look for ourselves.

Macronutrients... Protein, Carbs, Fats... those are the main ones tracked... :)

My diary is open if you ever need/want to look... ignore the repetitiveness LOL I was offline here for a bit so this last week is up to date and if you flip back to Aug/Sep last year... Are you doing a progressive lifting program? If so, I would research eating to a macro count (this is what I do) and it is much easier and…
-
never lol I just eat to the macros and ignore the calorie piece.. product labels can be tricky as some won't count fiber in the carb count.... so need whole carb count and not net carb.. it's a weird thing lol I am constantly updating / creating my own foods lol
-
agreed and 99% of the time, I am using the USDA database and making my own entries myself because I trust nobody LOL ... After about a month of my own entries, I don't have to worry about making them any more as they are already kept for me and since I each pretty much the same thing.. it simplifies :)
-
the good thing with lifting and progressive lifting.. you don't have to "restrict" anything... I ate stuff that would make people's head spin around here but there are quite a few of us that do... I ate pizza, burgers, ice cream was a daily thing, etc... it was ALL fuel and it worked like a charm. I am one of those few who…

ice cream :) that will get you calories and soothe the soul :) If you want "healthier" Ice cream... I can highly recommend Halo Top ;)
-
me LOL but I gained it all and then some :) my own fault and I know it... so back here doing what I know works ;)
-
IMO... progressive lifting with a program will require a lot more than 1300 calories unless you are like 4'5" and weigh like 80lbs...
-
agree with this... food scale is my biggest weapon
-
Yup, I lost previously eating ice cream, pizza, chocolate .. whatever I wanted but I made it fit into my day - not just mindlessly eating it.
-
well I guess it truly depends on goals... personally, I would NEVER eat or live 1200 calories a day lifting... when I was lifting I was eating around 1800-2000 per day... I am 5'8 and at the time 170+lbs.. since I can't lift any more but have to do bodyweight, I am still at 1700 per day. I find I enjoy the IIFYM…

Amen... some like me - hate cardio and I limit my cardio to my walking (that's it) but others love it. I prefer strength training of some sort and for me that leads to bodyweight training - because I ENJOY it.. not because I have to but I want to :) It is all in "do you boo.. do you"...
-
So you are right.. it doesn't work if you don't use it... I have been on MFP a long time and gone up and down.. why? because I stopped.. my own issues, problems or whatever made me quit. When I used it correctly, it worked like a charm but life happens and I stopped (numerous times).. here I sit again a week into this time…

Check out the IIFYM Women group on facebook as well!! Lots use MFP and I use their superb flexible dieting skills/recipes/motivation all the time!!

Then I am going to venture that your body is slowing down the loss now. I weigh myself daily and nerdy chart it and it is interesting to watch the rise & falls that can happen one day to the next. But I am still trending my goal of 1lb a week on 1900 cals

1900 a day here!! I meet my macro's ans do bodyweight strength training... Works for me so far
-
Well, I have had 4 back surgeries and the ONLY thing to help build that up where I have no pain and take NO meds at all for it was lifting. Building the muscle up helps as well as losing weight :) Even now, I will never run with it unless of course a zombie is chasing me ;) I have a pool so I swim a lot too which is really…

You have received the best advice ever.. I love the people on here and am constantly reading/searching. I, too, went through a really bad crap spell for about 2 years which is why I am here (again lol). You can read more on my profile but in short, I had a ruptured brain aneurysm WHILE I was working out.. After I…

same here... power to the nerds LOL

So this!! While I am taller than you, I hit 190lbs in July. A long long time ago when I first joined here (like 8+ years ago), I tried that 1200 too... That wasn't happening. I am currently losing eating between 1600-1700 a day of good food.. And I had beer last weekend :)

I am hypo/hashi's on 300mcg. If you have not been teated recently (like in the last 2 months) then I recommend you do. I have to be tested around every 8 weeks to ensure my levels are stable because they can bounce around and adjustments are needed. That being said, I have lost weight before and am losing it again so that…
