It's been fine for me. It doesn't always select the right ingredients but it gives it a good go. I really love it actually. How specific are you being in your listing? I've found that it is a bit more precise depending on how you list. E.g. I'll list 'onion, raw' or 'tomatoes, canned' etc.

I'm just going to have to take your word for that. I love marmite but it's making me pull a face just thinking about it combined with porridge.
-
I love it mashed and spread on toast with chopped plum tomatoes, poached eggs and baby spinach.

I think maybe people mistake it for a woowoo (as a good thing) rather than a negative. I know I did when I returned to MFP after being away for a while. I think they should rename it Whoah! Woo tends to be a positive word in the UK.

My favourite oats recipe is overnight oats with either fresh or frozen fruit and fat free quark. Top it up with a bit of water especially if using dried fruit. Chuck it all in a leak proof beaker, give it a shake and pop it in the fridge overnight. I have quantities in my diary (which is open to all) if you want recipes…

Chicken salad with half a baguette. Not exciting but nice all the same.

I love Paris and the bakeries are amazing. There's so much to see though that you'll be walking all day. You can go from the Louvre to the Arc De Triomphe without running out of things to see. It's just beautiful. I wouldn't eat for eatings sake but don't deny yourself. Oh, and go to Mont Matre and see Sacre Coure. :)
-
That's my method too: plan it, log it, tweak it, eat it. :)

I saw an article on the BBC website about the 10000 steps/three brisk walks idea and thought that it was very interesting. It's more achievable in a day too. I can park my car slightly further away and get one in on each end of my working day and can get a ten minute walk into a 30 minute lunch break.

I'm a working mum of teenagers in the UK and my diary is open to all if you'd like to add me.

I have overnight oats most mornings. I usually use 40-45g oats, some yogurt or Quark, either fresh or dried fruit depending on what I've got in. It mostly comes to around 300 calories but then I don't have anything until lunchtime. If I'm making it as hot porridge, I'd use half milk and half water and stir in some stewed…

It's a perfect combination of flavour and texture, crunchy toast with soft creamy avocado, and better still with sliced sweet cherry tomatoes ![/quote] And even better with a couple of poached eggs, some spinach and black pepper.

Tea first thing in the morning, coffee mid morning, water through the day, another cup of tea when I get back from work and a herb/fruit/green tea in the evening. Wine on the weekends

Every morning and track it on my fitbit app. I log it here once a week on a Saturday morning. I just like data and spotting trends.
-
It's a curd cheese that's a bit like mascarpone but comes fat free and I think is higher in protein.

I always weigh in grams because I feel it's the most accurate.
-
Love this! I'm either knitting or crocheting in the evenings because it keeps my hands busy and I can't snack without making my needles/hook sticky.

Yep, I lost 40lbs in 2012, was 15lbs away from my GW when I just stopped logging and stopped paying attention to what was eating. It was almost like a self-sabotage thing. I've put it all back on again with interest. I've started again and this time it feels different, more like a life-long change. You did it before and…

Request sent.

Click on my picture, then click on my name and the option to view diary should come up. :)

I log drinks separately. My diary is open if you want to take a look. :)

Weighing everything rather than using measuring spoons or cups will make it more accurate. Even for items that you think would be fairly standard, it can make quite a difference. I've noticed apples and bananas are always under if you use a '1 apple' type entry rather than doing it by gram.
-
I do pre-planning and pre-logging and the app really helps.

My favourite breakfast at the moment is overnight oats with Quark, dried berries and frozen strawberries. I throw it all in a leak proof beaker, add some water and give it a good shake and then leave it in the fridge overnight. I eat it at my desk the next morning. Easy, quick and keeps me full until lunchtime so no…

This. I weigh and prelog just about everything before I eat it and if it comes in over what I'm prepared to spend, I don't eat it/as much of it.
-
Mine's open, feel free to add me. :)
-
No, I don't add it either unless I'm able to give an accurate breakdown of the nutrients per 100g. It's rare I find something that's not in the database and needs adding though.
-
I can't bear those database entries that jus say '1 piece' or '1 slice' etc. That tells me nothing without a reference point of how big the piece or slice is. They're just useless really.

You'll need a set of good digital food scales. I weigh everything and am constantly surprised by how different my idea of what 30g (for example) is compared to what 30g actually looks like.
-
I have a set of fairly simple digital ones. Our bathroom floor is wood floor boards though and isn't very level (old house) so it gives a different reading depending on where they are in the bathroom. I've had to resort to putting a sticker on them asking husband and kids not to move them! I've had body fat/hydration ones…
