I wonder how much of it is the way you behave after you've lost weight, rather than the weight loss itself? Confidence breeds confidence, and happiness is contagious. I can imagine people change their behaviours towards others at the very extremes of the weight spectrum, but the rest is probably down to people being…

Thanks for the above tip about Trend Weight, it's my new favourite website! Especially as it integrates with my Fitbit scales.

Every morning, after the morning wee and while I'm still naked! Takes 10 seconds, and I got the Fitbit scales so they log everything for me. I do see daily fluctuations of over a kilo, which seems crazy but it's made me appreciate how it can happen and taught me not to stress about it.
-
Add me if you'd like, I'm sam.p.king@gmail.com. I use it religiously every day, and use the scales too... well, I would if they hadn't broken this morning... :s

My resting heart rate, as calculated by my Fitbit, is seeing steady improvement in the early stages of my diet. It's gone from 72 to 64 in the last month, and last night for the first time my heart rate dropped below 50 during my sleep. I rate these kind of victories as equal to losing weight, as it's a nice reassurance…

Never done a challenge on here, so a big hello to everyone! Here's my goals... SW: 205 CW:199 GW:175 I got down to 167 a few years back, and I'd like to be back there so I can get back into running without stressing my knees too much. Ultimate goal is 10% body fat, toned and strong... isn't everybody's?! Currently…

UK here too. I'd like to drop at least half a stone by Christmas... I'd like to drop a stone, but don't reckon it will be possible! I'll give it a damn good go though.

Congrats! You must be feeling great. I can't see the pic, but that may be my work PC...

I start on Thursday! The first time for me, but I'm determined to stick with it.

4lbs a month is a perfect, sustainable rate. Don't change a thing! You're way more likely to keep the weight off if you do it the way you're doing. So CONGRATULATIONS on your 4lbs! :)

Don't mess with my poor, confused head any more than it needs to be...

Great links, thanks! I'll stop making myself look stupid now.

Gotcha. I suppose I could use displacement theory to work out the volume of a spear of asparagus, and work from there... ;-)

Weight ounces?

Cheers! I have some SiS Rego recovery powder that I used to use after mountain biking, so I'll be using that. It's hard, if not impossible, to get the official supplement over here in the uk, so we have to sub in alternatives anyway. Back in 90 days with some pics

p.s. 5'8", 172 lbs, 22.2% body fat starting point!

`That's a great idea!`

I think we're running out... time to give up and mullet all over!

You're a dab-hand at this, but you're skate-ing around the issue. Try and get a bit more in-tuna with the topic...
-
You're right... posting that was a missed-hake...

You can only try so hard! ;)

Haha, so many people missing the joke here! Cod save us...

No crabs? How do you keep your mussels?! If you want the body of a prawn star, you'd better change your... halibuts... *cringe*

New shoes, new surface, new distance. Could be one, or a combination of all three. I had some very comfy new shoes once, which ended up giving me shin splints - I had my running videoed on a treadmill at a running shop, and the shoes which felt great were actually causing my ankles to roll in on impact. Changed the shoes,…

It's either worn out, or inappropriate, shoes - have you had them long? Also, sounds like you could be a victim of the 'terrible toos' - too fast, too far, too soon! Back off a bit, and get yourself fitted for some new shoes - you may have developed some overpronation.
-
I find that getting fitter gives me an amazing feel good factor. The eating well then happens naturally. Instead of focussing on your weight loss, why not set yourself a fitness challenge? Like running a half marathon or something?
-
Stop running. Shin splints are a nightmare, and the worst thing you can do is carry on. Instead, try to work out why you got them. Most often, the cause is the wrong type of shoe, or worn out shoes (the support compresses over time, typically running shoes will last for 4-500 miles or so) - have your running analysed at a…

I'm a bloke, but I know the importance, if you're a laaaady, of getting a GOOD BRA! Some girls wear two when running. And I mean a tight, supportive sports bra. Now for the generic stuff. You're right about starting with intervals. Even if you have to run for 30 seconds, walk for 5 minutes, it's how you start. It will hurt…

Yeah, it's a big overestimate compared to my HRM. 75-80% of what MFP tells you sounds right.
