  • I just found at Target this freeze dried edemame (sp?) I LOVE it! One half cup is 130 calories, and I am very full after eating it.

  • WHAT! You usually have 2500, and you are trying to stay at 1200? You should never cut your calories that fast! Your body is in starvation mode! Only cut by 25% of total each MONTH! So cut to 2000 calories for a month, then the next month cut to 1500. Maybe that was a typo? Have you calculated your BMR?
  • I find I get that way too! Especially when I only eat a certain amount of calories per meal, anything less than 350 and the next day my body goes crazy for sweets! I also find if I don't eat every 3 hours, the next day I eat like crazy! Hang in there!
  • Do you have a workout buddy? Can you study while on a bike or elliptical? Maybe you can even tape your lectures and listen to them while doing yoga? :) I wonder if you could find a good 20 min workout like the 30 day shred to do in your room? I burn about 220 calories in 20 min of the Shred DVD- it is great and I am done…

  • I am on day 3..... I watched level 2, looks like I could handle it with some modified moves.... a couple scare me though..... :) I work out with a trainer on Tuesday mornings, and that wipes me out til Thur morning, so I plan to get 5 days of shred in a week, I even got my hubby into it- he likes it so far!

He is very free flowing, he does tend to transition pretty fast, lots of downward dog, he does talk ALOT, so sometimes I just turn it down and watch....   • OP: I actually thought a woman wrote it, so AMEN to you for saying what you said! :) Because it is true- I am a medical provider and I have even been guilty of this. Look at the HCG diet- 500 calories? wow!
  • Most of the calories needed to run need to come "before" the run. Calories even consumed during marathon's need an hour or two to digest and be "fuel" for the body. Try upping your carbs 2 hours before workouts and see if that helps! :)

  • Thanks, b/c I am really motivated right now, I am much better off working out daily, even if it is just to burn a couple hundred cals! I started working out a couple days a week in Sept., so I feel like I am safe to bump it up- besides, I haven't lost a pound, that is why I am at MFP now!

I usually walk/run a mile or two on the treadmill and then I do the elliptical for 20 to 30 min. I know it is individual for everyone, but is it ok to keep doing this daily even if I am sore?   • Good question, I thought they were the same - b/c Precor is a "brand" but then I bought a home Elliptical and that thing kicks my butt! I feel like I am bouncing on the gym one...I don't think I was burning as much as what the gym one said.
  • I haven't been doing this long, but I have been eating my extra cals from exercising and I didn't loose, so I am going to change it up a bit...
