Ok at the gym they have elliptical machines and precor machines? Aren't these the same, I mean I know the ellipticals have the option to use your arms and the precor's don't. It's like your sking on both anyway. I use the Precor's but is it that much of a difference? Please explain... TIA

Personally, I feel that I get a better workout on the elliptical. On the precor I bounce alot, and I am tope heavy, so I think I am more worried about that. When I am doing the precor I dont feel that I am challenged...thats just me tho!

I was just thinking the same question. But to add to those questions: Do you burn more calories when you do the different types of settings? i.e. Manual vs Hill climb? Does MFP calculate this for you or is the machine a better way to go?

To (attempt to) answer your question, I do know that when you are using both your arms and your legs it burns more calories, so I would think the elliptical is a bit better for you in the long run. I do feel better after the elliptical as opposed to the precor (I only do the precor if there is no other machines available at the gym).

    Thanks.

Good question, I thought they were the same - b/c Precor is a "brand" but then I bought a home Elliptical and that thing kicks my butt! I feel like I am bouncing on the gym one...I don't think I was burning as much as what the gym one said.
