I’m in too, was helpful in Dec especially with all the social events. Am planning dry weekdays and then the odd glass at the weekends. It really helps aid losing weight too. Looking forward to the group!

1200 is doable, you may find your body feels hungry at first, make sure you drink plenty of water, it helps hydrate and also often hunger is thirst. At 1200 you’ll see quite a quick difference to start with, but then it will slow. Combine with exercise to encourage weight loss & also to give you more calories to eat. It…

Yes I do. I run a lot though as well. I had gained back, due to eating too much, avoiding the scales and not logging. My first week back & I’ve lost 4lb. I already feel better.
-
Yes I do.

I often go to bed earlier & read, means I don’t drink and sleep better for not watching a screen. Plus you drift off naturally -even if your book is on your face! I’d be q interested in others ways to relax too.
-
Good luck! I think that’s a good challenge to not drink.. will keep my fingers crossed you stay strong!

I’ve been really careful this week, first week back (I gained 19lb back of 45lb lost) and I’ve really focused on not going over calories.. rewarded with a 4lb loss this morning. I enjoy it socially so would never want to quit totally, but making sure one glass stays one glass is my aim, alongside a dry Jan in a few weeks.
-
Me too, alcohol free night tonight, this is normal for me this early in the week, I’m aiming to be dry until fri & then be careful this weekend.
-
Thank you, really interesting views and different ways to look at this & lots of different experiences. Really helpful, very focused on losing weight & know that cutting back here will help (and I know I can do that, good self-control!)

Hi I was exactly the same a few years back post pregnancy, in the 180s. I logged all on here & ended up at 137 - it took a while, but once I got going I felt so much better. There were some hard weeks, but mostly I didn’t think I was dieting. I’ve been a bit lax this last year & avoided tracking & weighing myself... I’m…

Thank you, am a bit surprised where the thread has gone. All I was asking was about cutting back a bit!! I’m going to stick to my 3/4 days clear & then focus on less at the weekends & then have a dry Jan. Losing weight isn’t easy but I know I can do it & thank you to those offering tips & different options xx
-
Well done you! I think it’s about getting the balance. I will get measuring as well.

I don’t drink daily, generally have 3/4 days clear a week. It’s more cutting it back on the 3/4 days I do. I enjoy it like others would candy or crisps. I realize it’s empty calories & do a lot of running to compensate. I will probably do a dry January to boost the weight loss & prep for a half marathon. Was after advice…

I’d like to join as well please. Wine can be my downfall. I know December is crazy socially so realistically it won’t be as dry as it could be. I’m keen to cut down, not drink in the week & be much more careful at weekends. Come January I think I’ll have a few weeks off completely & reintroduce as a treat.
-
Thank you zugmeister. I like the vizualization of what the wine means in food. I think I need to do a mixture of cutting down wine, occasionally cutting something else out & more exercise for the days I do want some. Thanks
-
Thanks! I like these tips. I think I might need to do a few weeks off completely (maybe in January life is far too social in December!) and then reintroduce as more of a treat. Has anyone done that? I imagine it’s quite tough?
-
Thanks.. do you just have one five ounce glass per week?
-
And me, started again this week, it actually feels great to be back at it! A couple of days where I felt hungry as my body remembered what it needs, not being overfed & now 5 days in I feel a bit leaner & better already! Feel free to add me.
-
40 here. Feel free to add me!
-
True. I definitely gained by eating too much & not using enough up. I did this before & lost well. Had not heard the CICO term! I will stick to accurately logging & hopefully losing the 19lb I put back on!
-
Thanks!! Wasa silly question then.. very simple... if only
-
Like this! I know for me this is true... few days while your body adapts... I can tell a difference already!
-
So last night I was hungry, today I feel much less so, I am pretty sure it’s my body remembering what it should be using not being over-filled by me!!! Fingers crossed for everyone!
-
Thanks!!! I won’t let it slip once I get down again! Thanks for the support
-
Thanks I’ll see how I go this week & then change. Main reason it’s crept on is avoiding the scales, not tracking & enjoying a few too many glasses of wine! I was almost relieved it was only 16!
-
I am similar, restarted this week & I definitely feel a little hungry... I think it’s your body adjusting, I quite like not feeling as full though & I know within a couple of days it will pass. I’m trying to drop 16lbs back on 2lb a week & know as long as I track & exercise this works. Once there, I need to not let it…
-
yes me too! just done it! it's good... how are you logging it?
-
Yes, I've lost very similar in the 5 months. I set myself 2lb off a week and it's worked. I've worked out too, done a lot of running (x3) a week, but I've not felt like I've been dieting. I think logging food and drink is the most important, really keeps you on track. I've taken the attitude that I can have what I want to…

Count me in too... 173 this morning would love to be 163 or less by 29 Feb!
