  • You need to make something to sell at a shop or you just need to feed yourself for 5 days?
  • Squeeze some lemon or lime juice, keep the pit (or just a pit I suppose) in your container. I think this is most effective if you mash it and then stir in the juice. I use mashed avocado on salad and if you stir it all together some it acts like dressing and coats everything. Yum!
  • Soup tends to be cheap and filling, especially if you're using lots of beans and grains. And you can freeze some for later. Celery and PB is still a great snack! Make your own trail mix. Just a few ideas!
  • Kind bars. When I'm super busy (I'm a PA at an 1100 bed hospital) I just take a bite as I'm walking to the next floor/pt room, then back into a baggie in my pocket. Also, apple + kombucha tea = filling snack/mini meal.
  • Night shift for 2 years, gained almost 15 pounds over first year and a half. Have managed to take off 10 pounds, slowly but surely. So, I also eat on my way in to work or right before I leave, try to have a snack every few hours until 2 or 3, the stop! My problem is always making bad choices when I'm really tired, whether…
  • Started 21DF yesterday! I did 2 weeks of 21 DF a couple on months ago (got derailed by camping trip the first time and then just gave up).
  • How's the app working out?!
  • I really love pasta, but obviously it's something to be had in moderation (esp on 21DF). I found that mixing a bunch of roasted veggies with my little bit of pasta and topping with homemade (no added sugar) Sauce loaded with veggies satisfies my pasta craving and works in some veggies.
  • Slow and steady my friend. Nice work! Good inspiration to truly become a healthier person! Keep it up!
  • I'm working really hard to just log EVERYTHING, and I find I feel better about myself, even if I totally blow my calories. Plus, then I can keep track and try to tack on a little extra exercise a day to try and make it up! Good luck!!
  • La Croix is the best! I've been on that band wagon for years! My favorites are grapefruit and berry.
  • @dafoots0911 I keep thinking if I can just incorporate more of it, I'll be doing really well. I saw on a message board today someone who does raw until 4pm. I might try that soon.... Though I'm not so sure it's compatible with 21 day fix. :/
  • I just made an excel spreadsheet so I can try and plan my meals in advance. I've got a few recipes I'm making then sticking with salads, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, Greek yogurt.
  • So now that you've gotten your new scale, what do you think? I'm in the market for one!
  • I started using chia just mixed with water and left overnight. Next I would add more water (so it wasn't completely gelatinous) along with a bunch of lime or lemon juice. Makes water more like a meal. I also use them in smoothies sometimes, and I make the pudding every few months. I primarily consume them for omegas and…
  • Love it! That's awesome!
  • That's a super broad request! Can you be more specific? How adventurous are you? What kind of grains do you have? Do you eat tofu/seitan etc?
  • It's one night, don't worry about it too much! I try not to drink often, but it's not going to make or break your calorie goal. Just try and eat super healthy the rest of the day and drink tons of water!
  • Great post! Inspiring..... Excellent reminder that we are (or should be) making life long changes in our health and abity to properly nourish our bodies. Thanks for sharing your journey!
  • Spinach: measure it raw or after cooking? I eat it both ways and I get confused. I mean, it's spinach. Not like I'm gonna blow my calories for the day with it, but just wondering what others are doing.
  • I have a relatively standard rotation: oatmeal with fruit (maybe some coconut or walnuts), Greek yogurt and fruit, smoothie, eggs with veggies. That's pretty much it. On Pinterest there's 21 DF friendly pancakes, but I haven't tried them yet.
  • This is a well timed post for me too! But because I fell off the wagon for a solid week... Planning to start back hard core in the next couple of days. I agree with the above about the muscles and weight gain. I personally didn't have much of that effect (during my first 2 week stint) but from looking at blogs, I hear…
  • My friend is a fake tan EXPERT! I finally talked her out if tanning bed a few years ago. She spray tans and it looks amazing, but come off in chlorine. She also like the Kardashian tanning towelettes or lotion for in between spray tans. It's a lot of work to keep up with fake tans. I say, embrace the pale!
  • We all have setbacks, so don't freak out too much! I wouldn't advise calorie restricting, that just tends to back fire and lead to feeling deprived and binging. Workout an extra 10 or 15 minutes a day and eat super clean. I try to watch my cheese and bread intake for a couple of days. Those are things I know I could cut…
  • 2 potato hash with sautéed spinach and cherry tomatoes with poached eggs. http://joanne-eatswellwithothers.com/2014/03/two-potato-hash-poached-eggs-greens.html#_a5y_p=3635980
  • Thug kitchen (blog and a cookbook) Oh she glows (blog and cookbook) Probably not helpful for weight loss but "vegan cupcakes take over the world" is an excellent cookbook river cottage veg, cookbook. Don't think it was all vegan, though I think it was easy exchanges The kind diet by Alicia silverstone had some good recipes…
  • Planks: Try pulling your belly button in towards your spine. Your back should be flat between your shoulders and your hips. Look at the correction autumn gives the girl with the amazing Afro during the work out. I think it's during the bonus round? She pulls her butt up into the air just a little. I've found that helps my…
  • That looks good too! I love Brussels sprouts!
  • My lunch today. I threw in some mushrooms that we're going bad too. http://joanne-eatswellwithothers.com/2014/03/two-potato-hash-poached-eggs-greens.html#_a5y_p=3635980
  • I think yoga people will think this is hilarious. Takes a few minutes to read the whole thing but absolutely worth it. It's s Craig's list ad for a yoga mat used once but the guy goes into a hilarious account of the one yoga class he took.…
