CW - 174 GW - 148 or thereabouts I like to run - am training for a half marathon at the moment - buthave an injury so out of action for a short while. Also go to the gym - need to build all over fitness - swim, strength etc Have been vegetarian for a few months - with…

I'm a vegetarian too. Struggling to lose weight though as I find my diet is carb heavy. Add me please too!

Nothing. So far, so good. :)

I have a digital food scale . It is actually a Weight Watchers' brand scale which I bought when I went to classes - so also has foods and points built in. B Nowadays I just use it for straightforward weighing. I like it as can put my dish on, press zero then add each ingredient so no calculations required. Seems v…

I would go. It may help the tight feeling too. I know if I have done a class and my muscles are sore, then a run the following day kind of loosens them off. It's not so easy at first but a few minutes in, and it really is worth it.

Whenever you like. Just so long as you do the workout regularly. I prefer mornings - before getting showered for the day.

I need to find out how to post a link...

Am shocked at the price- I might sell it :) No oil involved here. Just the kernels - I add salt and lots of black pepper to serve. I don't weigh it - though I…

I love wine. Red, white, cava, champagne. Yum. It is scary how many calories are in a glass when I come to filling in my food diary. : :drinker: Just heading off out to the pub now - but I bet I can't stick to just the one.. :blushing: No run plannned for tomorrow. It does affect my running for sure- not fair !!

I think MFP defaults to the set calorie goal of 1200. I have just re started my efforts - and my calorie intake is set to be 1200. However I am 8 inches taller than you and (at least) two stone heavier. In previous times I have re-set mine to about 1600 per day - and tried not to eat my exercise calories.
-
I had a look at a can of kidney beans. The drained weight is 240gms - so a lot of liquid in there. Perhaps weigh out 200gm of dried beans - then re-weigh after soaking?

No. I don't see why. If you are going to the session on a fairly empty stomach it might be a good idea to have a small snack first, so you don't feel faint. But that's all. Well done on being a blood donor. I used to do it, but can't now. ):

Shock Absorber Run for me.It's pretty tight - all over. However it feels 'secure'. Nothing moves at all. it isn't cheap, but is definitely worth it.…

My drink of choice is wine, but it is high in calories. So, the best option is a spirit with a low cal mixer. Gin with a diet tonic is nice and refreshing. Lots of ice and lemon - and a glass can last a while. Rum with diet coke? A good trick is to stick to the spirits with diet mixers- but every couple of drinks just have…

I keep telling myself on the days that I find it hard, that it is ok, as today I am the fattest I will ever be again. This ^^^ Good luck on your journey, snudgie. You can do it - use mfp as a tool, log everything and read the success stories, recipes, tips. Will be following your journey!!

I see no harm in alternating them. I have 30 Day Shred and some other DVDs, which I just select at random. That way I don't get bored- and it keeps me using different muscles each time. I like to run at least 3 times per week - so do a workout 3 days and then one rest day. This morning I had a short run, then when I got…

It could be about right. It is surprising how few calories are burnt during exercise. It's a bit of a pita when you put in all that effort - and only burn enough for an extra slice of bread or so. I run, but outdoors. My current average pace is a little faster than you - at 11.40 minutes per mile. With hills though..Aagh-…

we call them knickers where I come from :)

yes- but you have to drink a lot to cause any problems. Unless you have a medical issue, drinking water won't cause water retention - quite the opposite.
-
I think that yes, it probably is. However that doesn't mean that you have to give in to it. I am struggling to lose anything at the moment. It could be that I just don't have the focus. Also, when you have other commitments it isn't as simple. If you are young and single - then you have loads of time to go and exercise,…

Well done on the run. From a quick read through - I would suggest that instead of the sugary snacks - aim for something protein based instead. As has been mentioned already, the sugar spikes insulin levels, which then crash - making you feel hungry quite dramatically. Post run a banana is fine. But when you get home try…

Yeah - similar. I go and grab a glass of ice cold water. Then tell myself if I still REALLY want the choc in10 minutes then I will have a small piece. The craving has generally gone by then :)

I ignored MFP advice of eating 1200 cals per day. I am tall, and run a lot. 1200 cals per day is nowhere near enough for me. So, I upped it to 1700 - and eat SOME of my exercise cals back. My weight loss is slow, but logging my food and exercise keeps me on track.
-
Tired - has to lay in bed to take a photo :)
-
I eat eggs whenever I like. They are a relatively low calorie way to fill up - and add protein. Eggs for breakfast keep me happy until lunch. Anything else makes me want to snack. According to the British Heart Foundation the cholesterol in eggs isn't so bad - I choose to believe them. :)…

Brilliant news! I'll let you know if it works for me :)
