I love to eat egg whites for a snack. I buy the carton of them and have half a cup everyday, which equals two large eggs. 60 calories, 14g of protein! I don't know if these will work for you if you bringing your snack to work, but just a suggestion!

For the past couple days I have been looking to join a motivational group and this one seems to fit the bill! I hope there is still room for me :) A few things about me- I started my weight loss journey August 2010, and up until March, I had lost 34 pounds. I was happy with my results and thought I was ready to head back…

That sounds like a good plan! I think I will stick with the 1500 cal range during the week for the shorter runs and eat back at least half of them for the longer runs. Thanks for all the advice everyone! It makes sense to kind of do everything by trial and error. This is my first half marathon, and race for that matter, so…

Breakfast is a great idea! I am in the same boat I am running 5-7 miles right now but I will definitely start playing around with the foods I consume when I get to the 10+ mile runs. I know the subject of "eating exercise calories" has been beaten to its core, but do you girls eat back the calories you burn after the long…

I am also planning to follow HH's training schedule, how do you like it so far? I am planning to follow the novice schedule, but for the long runs on Sundays, follow the intermediate plan. I don't think I would be able to go into a half marathon race having only ran 10 miles as my longest distance.

Thank you everyone, I am loving the advice so far! I also HAVE to fuel before long runs or else I feel nauseous. I have oatmeal for breakfast every morning so will probably stick with that. My main concern with nutrition was with the carbs. I feel like a lot of people stress eating a lot of carbs while training for…

Every morning I cook a cup oatmeal, with just water mixed in, and I usually put in a tablespoon of peanut butter as well. If I don't go with the pb I cook it with a half cup of frozen blueberries. I can't just eat a bowl of oatmeal either, even though it comes out to be like 400 cals with the peanut butte,r so I have an…

I have been so MIA the past couple weeks, sorry! Now I feel so out of the loop but I am excited to see that we have a challenge in the works to Valentines Day! I weighed in this morning at 149.5. Such a good morning for me because the month of November I have been stuck in the 153-150 range and now I am FINALLY in the…

Ya me either actually!! I always loved balsamic vinegar , esp dipping bread in it yummm, and it was on sale at the store and I figured I would give it a try in my salads.I use a serving of two table spoons on every salad and there is hardly any calories, sodium, or carbs. You can also just use vinegar if you like that…

I also eat between 1200-1300 cals a day. A lot of people tell me this isn't enough but I fill my diet with healthy nutritious foods so I never go to bed hungry. Below is what my typical day looks like...All the food listed amounts to about 1000 cals, I love sweets and I always have some kind of dessert so I allow myself…

I agree with all those who like 5 small meals throughout the day! I started doing this eating plan about a month ago and I NEVER feel hungry throughout the day and I have followed a strict 1200 cal diet for the past two months as well. It is to the point where I don't even feel hungry before a small meal, I eat because I…

Weighed this morning at 154, two more lbs till the 20! Ahh so close but I think I will be just shy of the goal. That is okay though I am still very very proud of myself and everyone else who has kicked butt in this challenge. I am LOVING the new graphic I can't wait to add it to my signature! I love the Holiday season!! It…

Last week! Time has sure flown by....I am two and a half lbs away from reaching the 20 pounds and not quite sure I will hit that. I am in the last 15lbs to my weight goal so these last pounds are hanging on for dear life, but hey! I will take 18! I like all the picture ideas and can't wait for the next challenge to start.…

Week 9 woooo! Only two more weeks. Weigh in this morning =155.5 I am .5 lbs away from my first Halloween mini goal I set for myself when I started mfp in august and 3.5 away from this 20 lb challenge. I think I can do it!! Good luck to everyone and push yourselves in these final two weeks! We are almost to the finish line!

Yup! I am at 40-30-30. I played around with this for the first couple months on mfp and have settled on these percentages. They work well for me and aren't too hard to follow if you eat a lot of veggies, whole grains, fruits, protein (very important), and all that good stuff! I LOVE carbs so for the first couple weeks it…

I dealt with this SAME problem for the last couple weeks. I ate very healthy and 1200 cals each day and my exercise routine was very intense yet everyday I stepped on the scale it said the same weight. I couldn't get that scale to budge! From reading other posts on this topic a lot of people mentioned that they ate more…

I love this! What a great inspirational post! For me, I am hoping to reach my weight goal by New Years so I would love to buy myself a little black dress for that night and feel beautiful in it!

Pink- you CAN be in the 170's by halloween. If you are at 185, you have to lose 6 lbs to be at 179 and you can do it! Stay strong in these past few weeks and keep up the good work!! April- I like that idea of starting on Oct 30th. If we start before Halloween it may add a little encouragement to those who want to eat too…

Week 8 woo woo! I cannot believe it has been 8 weeks! Time sure flies by, and it is only going to fly by faster because the holiday season is coming up! I swear once Halloween hits, the holidays are like a blur! I really like the idea of having a challenge that goes till Christmas time. 15 pounds sounds good too. I mean…

Happy Week 7! The last couple weeks I have been MIA, I was traveling around the country a lot so I missed a couple weigh ins but I still kept with my exercising and TRIED to eat healthy. It is so hard when you go home to visit the family and they bombard you with home cooking! I love it and hate it at the same time.…
