WEEK 3 of 9:
Here we are in week 3 and we have 67 people who have joined this challenge.. Woo hoo, way to go! Lets keep up all the hard work and keep the word going.
NEWBIES: I would like to welcome all the newbies. And if you are thinking of joining, please feel free to. We are only in week 3 of 9, and the goal is to lose 12 pounds which would be possible. And if not you can have fun trying.. Feel free to join in at any time. ANYONE is welcomed.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this Challenge doable. I would like to thank everyone for helping me out while I cant get back to everyone. And I would like to put a special thanks out there to Pinky & Stacy this week. You guys have helped me tremendously. And I would like to say thanks to Bru, for helping when she can, even thru this tough time she is going thru. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. She will need them..
Starting this week, I am going to have THREE challenges. The third challenge is going to be less strenuous for those out there that have a short, or long term disability. I think its only fair so that they feel welcomed in our group. I know sometimes they would like a little help and support losing weight. You can choose to do One, Two, or All Three Challenges of the week. The challenge are just there for suggestions.
CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
WEEK 3 (11/13) - Three EXTRA something’s (Glasses if water, laps around the track, minutes working out, sets of push ups, sessions… three more something’s into your week.)
CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
WEEK 3 (11/13) - Try a NEW exercise or workout 3 times for 30 minutes each.
CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
WEEK 3 (11/13) - Go for a walk, or beginners yoga for 3 days this week, starting at 5 minutes and increase 3 more minutes for each walk.
What have you been doing to make sure you are going to be able to do whatever you goal was for this challenge?
Quote of the Week - (11/13) -"When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place." - Unknown
Along with the quote of the week, always remember why you have tried so hard before you even think about giving up. You are worth all the hard work. Keep it up!
Heres to week 3! :drinker:

I guess it was a good week...(until Thursday morning, having a hard time walking around since then because my legs and feet are swollen) Going in town tommorrow and I will get water pills to help a bit for a few days. I still managed to go outside for a walk... at a slow pace but I still made the effort to go for 45 minutes! I can do this!
SW 323.4
W1 326.4
W2 319.8
Total weight lost this week is 6.6 lbs - 3.0 lbs gained last week = 3.6 lbs lost so far
I really like the challenges in week 3! Thanks AprilVal!!! :flowerforyou:

I love the challenges for this week, but I'm not sure if I manage to actually DO them this week. I have a b*ttload of classes and finals coming up, so I'm mostly studying. When I'm not working out or on seminars, that is. This week has some serious cr*p-potential...0 -
Ugh. So I got in a car accident on the way home from work tonight. I was about 1/4 mile from home, some lady turned left out of a parking lot in front of me. Totally her fault, but I hit her going about 40. We are both fine, but our cars are not. I'm gonna have a sore neck tomorrow. I'm pissed because now I'm out a car until who knows when. I have GAP coverage, so I'll be fine if they total it out, it just sucks. Now I think I'm gonna have some of the frozen yogurt in the fridge, and don't try and stop me!!
Weigh in day Sunday, let's hope I lose!! I'll be good tomorrow, I promise!0 -
I've looked back and I can't seem to find my starting weight on this challenge. So i've looked back on my profile and reckon I was around 203lbs, I'm now at 200.5lbs (ONEderland is soooooooooo close). I'm going to take some measurements too, as I'm doing the 30DS too, and am hoping to see some results there!0

Love the challenges this week April. Definitely doable for all. Good news on you getting back on track and having an incredible weight loss! Have a wonderful weekend...I weigh in Monday so I will post then!
BTW...what is it that you do that your work hours are a bit crazy?0 -
Just joining.. I think this is an awesome support group.
So to be fair I went and looked up my previous weigh ins. I had a set back one week, but I will show you my weigh ins and I can only progress from here.

I'm feeling so pumped about everything! I love the challenges - they're so motivating! Thanks, ApriVal!
@SummerBlunden - I think sometimes we all need that ice cream/sometime sweet to make everything better. I know I sure do. I bake cookies and divide them into little snack bags and hide them in my freezer for just such occasions. Glad to hear you're alright, even though your car isn't!0 -
SW: 186.6

Loss this week: 0.8
Total loss: 2
0.8 lbs seems like not much progress, but oh it ISSSS!!! Hehe, I had a bad week, and I had actually gained weight, so to have overall loss is FANTASTIC! I'm back on my feet again this week and starting again. For week 2 challenge, I did really well on the meditation part, and didn't do the sprints. (oops) I found though, that the meditation really helps. When I'm centered on who I am and what I want to do and be, etc... there are a lot of those emotions that I'm learning about myself. Sometimes I think weight loss is actually taking the time to make yourself the priority. That's new to me.
This week for my 3 challenges, I'm going to try to:
- Drink 3 more glasses of water a day (I do horrible at this)
- Try to do 30 day shred 3 times (I've never tried it)
- and go on 3 walks
It's supposed to snow here the whole week, but I will likely be able to get a walk in today before it starts.
Motivated to get some work done on this challenge! :happy:0 -
Morning all, I'd say good, but it's really not for us.
I do have a lot going on, so I may or may not post nearly as much as I use to.
Last night was a little easier than I thought, but I know today will be hard. In Grandpa's honor last night, we had the last of the margaritas he had mixed up in his honor as that was his choice of drink DAILY!
Well, I need to attempt to eat before we head out, just wanted to pop in for a few.. take care all and hug your families extra tight.0 -
Weigh In Stats
H20 Xmas SW = 239.6

Week 2 Weight = 237.9 (-1.7 lbs)
Week 3 Weight = 234.4 (- 3.5 lbs)
WOO HOO!!!! It's proof that positivity works. I had a great mood all week. One thing I didn't do well was log my food :grumble: but that gives me hope that I won't have to log forever - that if I just listen to my body I will be able to keep the weight off. I think I'm going to start logging again today because I do have a few people that PM'd me to remind me that they watch what I eat too - some for motivation, some for accountability. It was a good exercise, but it's still so new that I'll easily slip back into bad habits.
The happy dance I just did probably burned some calories....LOL Almost half the weight I need for the challenge is gone and we're only a few weeks into this.0 -

Im happy you like the challenges.. I was trying to make them doable for all.. And as for your question of what kind of work do I do.. I am a Customer Service Manager at Walmart. My hours are always all over the place.. I hate it. Its kinda hard trying to lose weight without a schedule. Its crazy I know. But I make good money and run my @$$ off all night long..0 -

Aww BJ, did they ever find out whats going on with you? I hope you feel better soon hun.. You gotta get better before you can worry about the weight loss that much.. Hopefully you get back up to par soon,.. ::)0 -
@summerblunden - That sounds awful! I hope your neck feels better tomorrow, or soon Fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow!
@looby1968 - You are SO close to Onederland! Any thoughts about the 30DS?
@Francesstewart1 - Wow, congratulations!
@Carmen1485 - Just keep cheching in, we'll motivate you to do your yoga Congratulations on the awesome weigh in-results!
@Violet_820 - 0.8 IS a loss, no matter how you twist and turn I'll join in on your 3 glasses of water-challenge, I could need that as well
@Bru - You and your family are in my thought and prayers, hon!
@fitterpam - WOW! congrats on 3.5 lbs loss! You are awesome!!
I'm still having a tough time not stepping on the scale every morning - was really disappointed today, as I weighed the same as yesterday, and the last two days. It's so demotivating, so I should definitely stop checking every day.
On the other hand, I've been spot on with my calories every day this week, and is really pleased. Today is a planned cheat day, where I don't cheat, but go above my allowed calories. No biggie, just a slice of pizza and a drink or something I love "cheat" days0 -

I have just realised that 2lb took me past half way though, I am counting down now. Next 1lb will put me in the 150's which will be nice0 -
I'd love to join! What a great way to kick off my new lifestyle.

Well, apart from thinking the bit** is not going to beat me, I have nothing. I am doing okay on the strength and abs exercises but my cardio is rubbish!!!!!!!
Will be on to level 2 by thursday this week!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
H20 SW- 172
Xmas SW- 154
Xmas week 2- 152
xmas week 3- 151.2
Not as good as week 2 but a loss is a loss! As I am nearing closer to my goal weight the pounds are coming off slower and slower. Ive got just over ten pounds to go till I hit my overall goal weight here on mfp so I am pretty excited. I am also glad to have been part of such a positive group such as this one to help me stay confident and determined!
I love the holidays and I know I will love them even more as a healthier and happier person
Have a great week everybody!!0 -
SW: 152
Week 1: 151.4
Week 2: 151.0
Total loss -2.0 lbs.
Not much of a change, but I am ok with it. I measured myself today and have lost 3 inches in the chest and 4 inches in the waist. I have lost other places but these two were the most dramatic. I wish I would have taken my measurements when I started rather than waiting for 2 months. I would be very interested to see how many inches I have lost overall. Anyways, I am up for the challenges. I got a gym membership last week and have been a few times. I will for sure add 3 new workouts when I am there as well as adding 3 more times to my reps.0 -
WOW Week 3 is already hopping! I can't catch up right now - I'll try to tonight - but I'm just coming down from a happy high. Finally had a good showing at a craft fair. Sold 6 cards and 17 of my turkeys, which is fantastic! I'm pumped and doing research to make sure my partner in crime and I get in to all of the holiday boutiques/festivals we can! My etsy isn't doing a heck of a lot of business, but a childhood friend of mine/my hair dresser wants to sell my upcoming jewelry/hair stuff on consignment at her station! Yay!!
Happy Saturday rock stars!!0
