I go back and forth with eating 1200 cals and maintenance cals, as I gain a few here and there when I'm not being as careful. But I know just what to do to fix it so I do not let lilttle gains get me down. I enjoy oatmeal alot. I also LOVE sweet potatoes with cajun seasoning (high in sodium I know) but you can do without the seasoning. I also like vita muffin vita-tops. They're good for those sweet cravings and come in all sorts of flavors. I eat a lot of tuna. Like grilled tuna steaks. I love salmon but it sometimes is a little higher in calories (depending on the brand). I eat flavored rice cakes a lot. Hmmm, string cheese is a staple in my home. Oh and fruit fruit fruit!!! Good luck!!!0

I usually start breakfast with either oatmeal or yogurt sometimes with a banana
lunch lean cuisine, sandwich(usually turkey or turkey burger on bagel thin) also hummus with basil, tomatoe, onion, in pita bread
dinner, soup, or turkey burritos, or vegetarian lasagna or grilled chicken with roasted veggies including potatoe
snacks popcorn, weight watchers ice cream bars, rice cakes, apple with peanutbutter
I hope this helps0 -
I am at a 1,200 daily limit, too.
My normal breakfast is an Eggbeaters omelette:
- 1/2 cup Eggbeaters [60 cal]
- 1 wedge Laughing Cow cheese [35 cal]
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms [<10 cal]
- 1/4 cup onions [<10 cal]
- 2 tbsp Pace salsa [10 cal]
& coffee w/creamer [30 cal]
Breakfast total = 155 cals
I usually eat a snack around 9:30 or so, which is normally a 100 calorie pack or some fruit if I have any.
For lunch I try to stick to a Lean Cuisine, Fresh Mixer, or small sandwich and some carrots or celery.
My dinner varies a lot, too, but I try one small piece of meat and some veggies like green beans, asparagus, etc.
Not sure if that helps...0 -
Feel free to add me as a friend so you can see my food diary. I eat 1200-1300 calories a day and you can see how I do it. I have a Vitatop for breakfast (or oatmeal when I'm out of them), lunch is often a salad or sandwich from my cafeteria, dinner is an assortment of things like fish with veggies, pizza bagels, a protein shake, etc. Snack are almost always under 100 calories and I love greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom, string cheese, cottage cheese, and almonds.0

i'm on a 1200 cal/day diet too.
for breakfast i eat oatmeal because it's fast and filling. i've switched from prepackaged oatmeal (like Quaker) to the big containers of loose oats and measure it out. this way i can increase or decrease my breakfast calories depending on how i feel. it's also got significantly less sugar and calories than the prepackaged kind.
the thing that keeps my diet interesting is the assortment of fresh veggies. cut a bunch up and mix it all together throw some light salad dressing on it and you've got a fresh delicious lunch! each time you go to the grocery store buy a new kind of vegetable and look up recipes online.
good luck!!!0 -

I also eat between 1200-1300 cals a day. A lot of people tell me this isn't enough but I fill my diet with healthy nutritious foods so I never go to bed hungry. Below is what my typical day looks like...All the food listed amounts to about 1000 cals, I love sweets and I always have some kind of dessert so I allow myself 200-300 cals for that. My fav is jello with cool whip or a nice big mug of sugar free hot chocolate with cool whip.
Breakfast-
Kashi Go Lean cereal or a packet of sugar free oatmeal, either with one cup of soymilk
Medium gala apple
Lunch-
Oroweat sanwhich thins
one container of light tuna or two slices of low fat turkey
one slice of light provolone cheese
mustard or honey mustard
Dinner-
Salad- lettuce, carrots, corn, balsamic vinegar (just balsamic vinegar not salad dressing)
A protein source- 4 oz of chicken breast or fish like salmon or tilapia (sometimes I mix this in the salad)
Snacks-
1/4 cup of almonds
light string cheese
baby peeled carrots (15)0 -
Here is usually what I eat:
Breakfast - GNC Total Protein Shake
Snack - Apple or Orange & 1 piece of String Cheese
Lunch - Tuna & Green Beans/Salmon & Corn/ Chicken & English Peas w/mushrooms/Turkey & Spinach (always a lean meat + veggie)
Snack - Almonds or Cottage Cheese or Apple & Peanut Butter or Baby Carrots w/ FF Ranch Dressing
Dinner - Whatever is cooked - in small portion
10-12 Glasses of water to flush the sodium0 -

Ya me either actually!! I always loved balsamic vinegar , esp dipping bread in it yummm, and it was on sale at the store and I figured I would give it a try in my salads.I use a serving of two table spoons on every salad and there is hardly any calories, sodium, or carbs. You can also just use vinegar if you like that better or use them together!0
