Realized that my physical health was a correlation to my mental health, and wanting to become a personal trainer— wanted to lead by example! After that it clicked and I never turned back.

Good luck to all trying to lose weight, this is definitely the hardest time of the year to do so. But remember: "The harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph." My goals are to be able to squat at 315!

Thanks! Great words to live by

Thank you so much everyone for the kind words. There's no rush to get to certain weight, you have the rest of your life to get there. And taking small steps each day, week, or even month will lead you to being successful because you will adapt much easier to your new lifestyle :)

Thank you, I appreciate all the kind comments!

I always tell them I'm just focusing on myself and my goals. That I'm content and happy with myself. I'm not lying to them either :) I would think being in a relationship is so much of a distraction when you could be working on yourself. Then I joke and tell them that no one wants me ;___; and then they feel bad and change…

Keep doing things until you find a passion for it

That my huge calves are genetics and NO, I don't work them out often. Only at most once a week, and sometimes not even that much.

I have never noticed that with this picture until you pointed it out! It really is true, I'm proud because I have fought so many battles and climbed so many mountains to get where I am today. It was extremely hard. But I would never want to have done it any other way :')

thank you all for the support :)

It's really heartfelt to know that I can affect others in a positive way like that. I did not realize so many people were in the same shoes as I. I came from 230lbs and went to 140 at my lowest. I was so ashamed because I almost gained back 40lbs! But, that is the way I went as well, making small goal in order to reach my…

That is exactly how I felt, at first, I guess the fact of just merely losing weight was addicting. After I lost it, I got bored. I gained it back and found no real reason why I wanted to lose it again.

It really is! I found that starting off with small promises that I know I can keep. For example, drinking water at every meal. I did that for a week, and consistently added on to those promises. And now I feel like I can conquer anything. Making a clear achievable goal on a set date really helped me stay on track. Mine was…

I've been on myfitnesspal for almost 3 years and have lost 80 lbs ever since. I'm currently working on losing body fat and not weight. I'd love new friends, new stories, and new people to have in each other's journeys!!!

Hi everyone! I'm 22 and 80 lbs down. Would love some great, new, inspirational, motivating friends. Or even people who need help as well. Let's do this!!!!!

Yes. Freaking annoying Dr Oz.

Do you strength train? Easy. Drink pre workout, because you WILL feel the rush. or Do you just do cardio? If yes, then the advice I can give you is to just put your workout clothes on. Do it first thing in the morning. I always tell myself, "It's not going to be a good day if I don't exercise." Just do it, stop making…

will do buddy.

I'm still struggling with this!!!! A way that I have found is just to have my biggest meal for dinner and drinking 4 cups of water really helps. Eat your fats at night, it's very satiating. Good luck!

Honestly, just don't go overboard. Because you can gain all your week's hard work back. I'd say anything you can fit on a plate :)
-
That's easy peasy, of course you can. No doubt whatsoever.

squats, deadlifts. Exercising you'll be able to feel in your hamstrings. But definitely squatting, youtube for the correct form.

Steak and mayo all day baby

Dr Oz is so commercial. He uses pseudosceince and targets the general uneducated population of the U.S. to prove his "theory". Which in reality is not a theory, but just a study which wasn't proven by several scientist to be proven true. Yes, one fact may correlate to another, but it is not the exact causation of what he…

when you lick that last drops of sauce/condiment off your tablespoon, so "it doesn't go to waste"

I hate eating out for that exact reason. You don't know what they cook their food with. Save for the calories and just add a generic salad that MFP gives you. Eye out the things inside the salad then enter it. But honestly, I would say that do not let counting calories control your life. How often do you get to see your…

1) I saw the past 3 days of your journal and noticed that your sodium is quite high. Water will be retain in your body for about 3-4 days. Drink a lot of water, chill on the sodium and stay under your sodium goal for 3 days. 2) Are you accurately measuring everything correctly? Weighing chicken before it's cooked?…

21 and living in Vegas!!!! I have 15 lbs left of cutting until I begin my bulk. I would love to have active and dedicated friends who encourage one another on this site pleaaaase :-)

Because I didn't have any motivation to actually go out there and lose the weight. I love food, I love the taste, smell, and look of it... and I still do. I love indulging in it. It's comforting, it keeps me busy, it keeps me from doing stupid things. I honestly don't know what pushed me to live a healthier life. Maybe I…
