  • Just south of Houston, right between Houston and Galveston!
  • Congratulations!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel! My pregnancy weight was 224, and I was at 205 when I joined MFP! I love being in ONEderland, and I'm looking forward to shedding these last 58 pounds!
  • OH my goodness, I'm really excited about this second round. I only lost 4.2 pounds in the last one, but at least I lost with all the hurdles that were thrown my way! August 20 is my birthday, so I'm extra excited to work toward 10 pounds before my birthday!!!
  • I feel the same way! My loss isn't huge, but I also started this challenge in a rut. I got a really bad sinus infection, which I am JUST now getting over. Missed LOTS of gym time, which is out of the norm for me, and my husband traveled for work more than usual (lots of eating out for me when he does). BUT, I didn't let…
  • Awesome! I have 58 pounds to my "goal weight"! I'd love to join you! Feel free to add me!
  • 1. To be a great role model for my kids 2. To feel healthier and not so sluggish 3. To enjoy a long life with my sweet husband!
  • On the treadmill, I will do an incline of 4 or 5 for 4 minutes at a pace of 4 miles an hour, then 2 minute rest at 3.5 miles per hour. It gets the heart rate up, and I've built endurance doing this. I'm not an expert, but that's what works for me! I started out not even being able to walk 3 miles an hour without…
  • * get to 25 pounds total loss on the scale (only 7 pounds away!) * keep drinking 96 ounces of water a day * get to the gym 5 days a week (400-500 calories burned each day) * fit into my size 14's! * NO FAST FOOD AT ALL!!! I already promised my husband I would take July and not eat out so I can donate that money to his…
  • WATER!!! How much water are you drinking? I drink about a gallon a day, and when I don't, I feel exactly as you described. In fact, this weekend, I only got about 48 ounces each day and both days I struggled feeling sluggish, achy, headache, and just overall bad. But, my normal water intake keeps me moving all day, and…
  • This is awesome! Very encouraging! My husband also tells me almost daily how proud he is of my determination, even when I'm not feeling very determined. I can't imagine what I'd do without him! However, my week has been a little lackluster. I'm the same weight as last week, so I'm happy I didn't gain. I didn't get to go…
  • I'm in, but I think I'll aim for 75 miles and try to improve my speed and time.
  • ^^This^^ For the longest time I had mine set too low and I was starving every day, and not losing a single ounce. I finally upped my calories, and eat my exercise calories and started losing regularly. For sure, eat more to lose! But, for snacks during the day, I like red peppers with hummus, english cucumbers, baby…
  • French fries...I could eat them every single day if they weren't so awful for you!
  • We eat black beans a few times a week around here. Tonight we had it in our Chicken Fajita Salad with roasted corn and salsa mixed together. My husband makes his Saturday breakfast with black beans smashed and sauteed with a little bit of bacon for flavor.
  • My husband took Celexa for about a year and had terrible side effects, including weight gain. He has since changed to Lexapro (after several other meds), and has been on that for 3 years with no ill effects. You might have to see what works best for you. My husband suffered from severe OCD and anxiety and panic disorder.…
  • Most doctors will tell you not to take Advil, but Tylenol before these procedures because Advil will cause you to bleed more. I worked for a GYN, scheduling these procedures and that is what she always said. When I had mine done with my doctor, she said the same thing. I was sedated, but because I had a D&C at the same…
  • ^^This, for sure! I also use the Jergen's firming lotion. Not sure it's really doing anything since I'm losing the cellulite little by little through my weight training. But, I do like it, and they have a version that gives you a gradual tan. for someone as pasty white as me, that's awesome!
  • I totally understand single people accepting both; however, as a married woman, I only accept female FR. I do this out of respect for my husband (we met online afterall). It's just a respect thing for me.
  • Thanks, y'all! I just had a really hard couple of weeks. My husband had to work really late all week the second week of this challenge, and then was out of town for work all week this week. On top of that, I caught a cold, which turned into a really bad sinus infection, while trying to take care of my two boys. I'm ready…
  • I did not know any of this. Suppose I should throw out that bag of ground flaxseeds I bought 2 months ago. They were in the dry foods part of the store. :ohwell:
  • I am the same way in South TX. It gets super hot and super high humidity, which makes it 100 times worse. I just stay hydrated, try to eat lots of fruits and salads. I have a hard time eating dinner in the summer months.
  • Stay at home mom. In my previous life, I worked in Human Resources. I miss it some days, in the summer, when I haven't had a break, and my kids are running around like crazy monkeys.
  • WOW! You look fantastic! Great job! I'm 6 months in and only 15 pounds down... Guess I need to get some tips from you!
  • I was also wondering about this. My dietitian wants to me to incorporate Yoga and Pilates in my workout, but I have no idea where to begin. My gym doesn't offer yoga or pilates classes. They only offer boot camp, spin and zumba classes. I'm intimidated to do a class, too, so that doesn't help me. But, it is one of my goals…
  • A jar of chocolate frosting WITH a bag of plain potato chips AND a 32 ounce coke AND 3 twinkies AND a handful of almonds. Seriously! How sick is that? That was me most of last summer! I was super depressed and eating emotionally. Thank God for intervention!
  • I am going to get over this sinus infection. That will enable me to get back to the gym. When I go to the gym, I just make better choices the rest of the day. My weight stayed the same, but I ate terrible and only worked out 3 days last week. So, I'm glad I didn't gain! No fast food!!! No sodas!!!!:grumble: Back to…
  • Seriously? I need to get to Target!!!
  • I've been sick all week, so I tend to drive thru places to eat so I don't have to cook. My husband worked late all week, so it's just that much easier to eat fast food especially feeling lousy with this cold/sinus infection. I only got to the gym 3 days this week and truly I did not work hard. I am normally there for at…

  • I'm with you. I took the day off yesterday because I have had a cold or allergies. Worked out today, but didn't put my heart into it. Totally didn't feel like I was doing anything. Add to that, I ate horribly yesterday and today... Let's get our butts in gear and move it tomorrow! Work it!!!
