Not possible. Oh, that way madness lies!

Who doesn't? My downfall. I have to budget for a couple good stouts a week to maintain my sanity.

Knudsens is good. Darigold is okay. Kroger is awful. Like anything, some brands have lots of additives. The best is the stuff you make yourself. It's easy. You won't believe the flavor of fresh creamed farmer cheese.

Anything. Really. Move, scale, damn you.

My problem is I gave away my fat pants, and then put some weight back on, and then got a seasonal tax job that requires office wear, so I'm making do with two pairs of thrift shop dress pants while I hope to get into some of my skinny pants before the season ends.

Yes, the shampoo is critical. I will say that I've seen plenty of skinny, flabby women at the Y pool, and thought, you know, I'd rather be fit and firm and curvy. And I think that starts with diet.

Mmmmmm...ice cream. Now you've gone and done it.

Why in the world would I pass up a Ding Dong for a Twinkie?

LOL. So true. I think of good carbs as having some nutritional value other than just calories. Beans, for instance, are loaded with protein and soluble fiber, so I like those carbs. Bananas, oranges, and potatoes have potassium. And so on. And if I'm going to indulge in carbs just for the sake of indulgence, it had better…

How do you lose a cast-iron skillet? BTW, I threw one 51 feet at the Celtic Games last summer. Impressed my Welsh boyfriend. I get all kinds of respect now. That frittata does look good.

Today, oatmeal with cooked apple and coconut milk.

Depends on the plateau. Sometimes a plateau is a time when you are building muscle, or your system is reaching a new equilibrium. I noticed in the past, when I lost a bunch of weight, that I might stay at a certain weight for weeks, but suddenly I was down a pants size.

Yes. It's exasperating. But it works.

EVERYONE gets an education, regardless of class, gender, wealth, age, or disability.

Veggies are great, so is fruit, even though is adds carbs. I haven't seen legumes mentioned yet. They do have carbs, but also protein, and both soluble and insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber is great for your arteries and your gut. It gives the good bacteria something to grab onto.

Stir fry would work. Yes, indeed. Sounds good.

There are some days where logging my food would just be impractical. I let those go. But not very often. My 80/20 plan is more like 93/7.

Leftovers, yes. Apples or pears and sharp white cheddar. Boiled eggs. Beans and rice.

5'0" here. 1200 calories is misery. However, a Net 1200 calories is attainable if I exercise, and that is the key. Too hard to get all my nutrition in at 1200. I get cranky and my brain doesn't work right if I don't eat enough. The only time I'm afraid to weigh myself is the day after eating Chinese or Thai food. Or pizza.…

If you use the MFP goals, it does the calculating for you. You can compare this result with several other calorie calculators around the internet. I started by picking a conservative goal (1/2 pound per week) and when I'd got the hang of it, and started getting in more exercise, I increased it to one pound. Remember that…

Pork shoulder pot roast, with a ton of veggies cooked in the broth.

Sleep more, yes. Rice-a-roni would set me on a carb binge, for sure.

Avocado is a surprise protein treat. Also any legumes. Cook them up from scratch in broth and they are decadent. I've been adding protein powder to things like pancakes when I'm desperate for a carby treat. Oh, and yogurt with frozen fruit is a great treat when you've given up ice cream.

One tiny Dove chocolate square. Big chocolate return for a small calorie hit. If you want it healthy, have some nuts or fruit with it.

Sunkist sparkling lemonade is the only pop I buy. Mixes with everything, ten calories per can.

The only thing I miss about my gym membership is swimming. But it's expensive, I have to drive 6 miles each way, it's a hassle... Building muscle is supposed to help speed your metabolism, so your cardio burns improve. It also helps build your back, bones, and so on to help against ageing later. Muscle is denser than fat,…

Granted, but then you will never accomplish anything worthwhile. (There's a fun app for this, called "What If?") I wish ice cream calories didn't stick.

Oh, and don't freak out over the sodium-induced weight gain the next day.

Cheese, cream sauces, sour cream, and guacamole are high-calorie. So is anything deep-fried. Big flour tortillas also. Margaritas are out of the question. The good news is that traditional Mexican food is not really that rich. We've Americanized it into the mess it is. Fish or shrimp tacos, grilled meats, fajitas...lots of…

Well, I'm a petite person, so MFP pretty much limits me to 1200 calories, which I can't sustain for more than a couple of days and keep my sanity. So I exercise to "earn" more calorie allowance. But I usually don't eat back all the calories.
