I was told to lose as much as possible while I wait for a date. I still have over 100lbs to lose to my goal, so I'm not overly concerned that I'll lose too much. It's taken me 5 years to lose the 85lbs.

I'm aiming to have surgery this fall. I've been working hard for 5 years to lose weight. Currently down 85lbs! I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada HW 338 CW 252 GW 138 I've spent these years learning to exercise and discovering what I like. I finally have a healthy relationship with food and I know that the surgery will help me…

Don't be afraid to try EVERYTHING! I had no idea how much I would love weights and RUNNING! I hired a private personal trainer in the beginning to learn how to exercise, but now I do it on my own. I run twice a week, Zumba 1-2 times a week, strength training once a week, and walk most days in between.

Aiming for end of September, but no date set yet. Anyone can add me! HW 338 CW 252 GW 138

Hi! I've been working hard for 5 years to lose weight. I'm still pre-op (surgery in October), but down 85lbs!!! I'd love more friends to get through this with!

I'm starting the process for the sleeve too! Good luck!

I've had this conversation with my husband multiple times. I know he fears I'll lose weight and leave him. I know things will change between us, but my goal is to change for the better. My hubby is thin and active and I can't participate the things he likes (kayaking, biking, hiking) because of my size.

I'm scheduled for gastric bypass early next year. Most of my current MFP friends aren't that supportive of the surgical route to weight loss. I'd love to have more friends who understand what I'm going through. Feel free to add me!

This has been one of the best advice threads I've read in ages! I'm on the wait list (Canada) for my WLS and this same thing has crossed my mind. I sometimes think "Maybe if I just 'this' or maybe if I just 'that' I will be able to lose the extra 200lbs. Thank you all for your perspective. Although I will likely question…

It's always heartbreaking to hear when this happens. My advice is to remember that their actions say more about them than it does about you. Head held high! Moving forward!

Thank you, everyone! I'm looking into all your suggestions. The Minnesota locations are ideal for me, but I have no problem flying anywhere if it's worth it.

I am on the waiting list for the sleeve (3 years). I'm in Canada and it's free, but you have to wait unless you want to pay out of pocket. Recently I've been considering paying out of pocket and even travelling to the US or Mexico. I'd love some advice on surgeons/locations that people recommend or places to avoid.

This side-effect is a little scary for me. I already have thin hair and take a medication to stop it from falling out (Spironolactone). I guess if it all falls out I'll just shave it and wear wigs..lol

I'm also just starting my surgical journey. Planning the gastric sleeve. Great to have more friends for support and encouragement.

I have my first consult with a surgeon in 9 days. It's been 7 years in the making, but I'm finally in a good place physically and mentally to make this first step. I find so many of the stories/advice in this group helpful and encouraging. Good luck to you.

It's doable. I lost my first 40lbs with exercise alone. Granted, I worked out 3hrs/week with a trainer (intense weights/cardio) and 3hrs/week on my own (light cardio). That much was hard to maintain for me. Now I'm on a healthy meal plan and exercising about 4hrs/week (various activities).

I have the best husband ever! Oh yes...E.V.E.R.!!!

At 31 years old I was denied life insurance because of my weight (321lbs). Other than my weight, my health was good. It was a massive slap in the face.

^^This!

I'm not sure if I understand this correctly, but you don't bring your own weights to the class. They are provided for you. Why don't you want to use the bar?

Why must we choose?

Same as last year...I'm giving up Lent.

Washing out the fridge! Followed closely by putting laundry away (mine just stays folded in baskets).

1) I have multiple, vivid dreams every night. 2) I've had several reoccuring themes in my dreams. The most common is toilets. I often need to use the toilet but all the toilets are filthy or clogged or exposed to the public. 3) I don't think they have meanings other than your brain is relaxed and sorting itself out.
