  • I would like to try but I am afraid I will be the challenge to the group:) Whether I work out furiously or very inactive, eat a ton, or under eat (not by design), I still seem to hover around the same 2-4 pounds range (after the first six pound loss) for months. So I would definitely like to try something different!
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I understand it. Please add me.
  • Modest? You gotta be kidding. 28-35 pounds is all I want to lose but I am learning it is not easy:) Congratulations on your achievement! If I may ask, did you lose consistently or did you have ups and downs? That is what I am struggling with right now.
  • Congratulations! That is terrific results! I didn't modify the exercise but took a couple of break days when my knee was hurting. I will be completing L2 the day after tomorrow. I haven't measured but haven't lost any weight since I started. So it is nice to hear that there is still a possibility:) I am definitely stronger…
  • Thanks for the support. Here are my details. I used the Fat to Fit website to calculate my current and goal weight BMR and TDEE. Here are my details. Height: 5'2" CW: 139-141 (started out at 144) BF: 37.6% Current: BMR: 1224 (MFP has given me 1200) Suggested calories for GW Moderately Active: 1910 I have moved slowly from…
  • Usually it is cornstarch for smoothness/thickness/consistency and I have never heard of wheat flour being used in curries.

  • Amazing and inspirational! Here I am complaining about the scale not moving...but your achievement, man, it makes me feel that I want to post pictures some day too... Congratulations! Very impressive!
  • 41. 42 in a month!
  • I don't measure, but right now I am so frustrated with the whole thing that I am giving all it takes not to give up.
  • I love my personal trainer. Without her, I would have never attempted strength training! My upper body strength is terrible (my baby has grown up; I had killer arms when he was still little) and therefore, I used to hate doing weights. But my trainer is motivating without being intimidating. Even when I had an injury that…
  • I completed L2D7 today. I did Level 1 without a break - didn't find it too hard. With L2, I have taken a day's break. I realized that combined with three days a week strength training, it might be a good idea to take a break to rest a bit. But after I have gotten to L2, I have done both L1 and L2 back to back twice and I…
  • I am a vegetarian but both my significant other and son are omnivores. Please feel free to add me and also look at my food diary which is public. I will be happy to share recipes if you like.
  • The burger idea sounds great. I put it in salad and soups. It is great to make tabbouleh. Just replace bulgur wheat with quinoa. I even put in mashed potatoes and my son (a real mashed potato fan) couldn't even tell the difference.
  • I love stories like yours. They keep me inspired. Amazing achievement! Congratulations!
  • Awesome! Congratulations! You look terrific. Stories like yours are the ones that motivate beginners like me. Thanks!
  • I completed Level 1 yesterday and started Level 2 today. I haven't lost any weight in the past week. Doing this every day has meant that I have had to cut down on my other high calorie activities like Zumba and kickboxing. So perhaps the drop in weight loss? However, I have been taking pictures (no, I don't think I would…
  • Nice job on the weight loss! Add me as your friend.
  • L1D7. My weight loss has not shot up or anything so far. But it has been consistent over the time I have been working out and eating enough. But my endurance has gone up and I am able to sink deeper on squats and lunges. And the twenty minutes seem to fly fast:) In fact, I do more some days after my shred. Like today, I…

  • L1 D3 Since I have been strength training with a trainer the past few months, I am not finding this level too difficult, but there are a couple of routines that kick my butt. I can do the abs well, most of the cardio stuff well but my arms and thighs get sore, but a good kind of sore. I am determined to stick with the 30…
  • Well, reading all your posts, I was so motivated that I started my L1D1 tonight! It was quite fun although painful at times. But I don't think I could have done this without having worked out steadily the past few months and especially pretty much every day after I joined MFP. Go MFP!
  • I just bought the DVD (today) and plan to start tomorrow. So count me. I have never done this before and would love some support. And offer support, of course!
  • Dont' give up! There is a lot of excellent advice so I am not giving any. Just wanted to share my experience. I have been strength training since October 2011 with no weight loss at all. I have been on MFP for 25 days now but I didn't lose any in the first two weeks. But since then, I lost 3.7 lbs. My problem was the…
  • I am so not an expert! But from what I read, it looks like resistance/weight work helps you boost metabolism yet there is no need to do that every day. But doing different cardio even everyday seems to be helpful.
  • There is a whole variety of vegetables that you could try. As a vegetarian, I am a queen of vegetables. Collard greens - southern style/cooked forever with onions and garlic, or crisp stir fry with just garlic, olive oil, and salt (my favorite) Green beans/French beans - blanched Brussel sprouts - tastes terrific roasted -…
  • I have the same problem. I don't know how to eat over 1200 without making unhealthy choices that up my sugar and fat levels lol. Or alcohol.
  • I am 5'2", looked my height when I was in the 102-105 range. Even pregnant, I was only 120. But now I am 144 and look a lot shorter:) My goal is 110 which I think is appropriate for my age (41) and height.
  • I am bored with the same reading!
  • What about your weight loss? Focus on that to motivate yourself:) Regardless of your weight loss plans, if your current profile picture is really you, you look awesome. I would kill (not you) for that:)
  • You look fantastic! Congratulations! Way to go!
