  • Wowww!!! Thanks for ALL the great info...I appreciate all the input, as well as the banter. I do eat eggs almost daily, nuts, some beef and fish, but very little chicken. I would just rather go the organic route as much as possible. I used to try to be a vegetarian or vegan 95% of the time, but have given it up. I've…
  • Do all the amino acids need to be present each time you consume protein in order to get all the benefits of the protein?
  • I used to get sore more noticeably, but now that I've been drinking a protein shake after my workouts, and I'm working out harder, it's not near as much. Just wondering if others have noticed that too??
  • On here every day for over 280 days now!! Love this site! Enjoy encouraging others to accomplish their fitness goals. Add me if you'd like to be friends, and I'll do the same.
  • I try to incorporate hiit into all aspects of my cardio workouts....elliptical, running, biking, even my zumba on the faster, more intense songs and routines. I'm going to put together some hiit routines from the Body Rock workouts and start adding those to my routines too. They are awesome!!
  • Academy usually puts some great stuff onto their sale racks. I periodically ck them out and have found some great outfits for much less. Also their BCG label has cute copies of other Nike, etc for much cheaper.
  • Also as you train and get in better shape, your heart rate will begin to be lower while you are still working out at the higher intensity levels. I do extended cardio workouts all the time, up to 90 minutes straight or more, with jogging, biking, elliptical and dance. Now that I've been wearing a HRM most workouts, I've…
  • I personally worry about ALL the additives, hormones, and pesticides that they feed the animals and then we eat them....so adding protein shakes without extra sweeteners has helped me a lot to get enough protein. Adding greens, fruit, nuts, etc also helps pack in some good nutrients!!
  • I just replied to another msg about depression (BorderlineAngel).....please read it. Lots of good ideas by others were presented through that thread also which you may get some ideas and help from. Not meaning or wanting to be rude, but I see only negative, self-loathing thoughts and statements, which is only exacerbating…
  • Struggled with depression off and on throughout the years, and I have discovered a few things. Seasonal-type depression, which hits me late fall through early spring is vastly improved or totally alleviated by me getting outside in the sunshine (even cloudy days!) and jogging, riding my bike, or walking, etc. almost every…
  • Only you know your true body strength and ability. Not all exercises for arms and shoulders can be done with good form and still using the same weight of dumbbell....at least for myself. I bought several dumbbells with different weights, and all under 12 pounds so far. I get an awesome workout. Look up videos on the proper…
  • I recently did the same....adding new friends who are more dedicated. Feel free to add me too.
  • You just have to force yourself to go for a few times, and it will get easier each time. Everybody who works out regularly knows that everyone is there to improve their health and fitness. People are at all different levels, and few waiting to judge you. It's all in your head. Put on a big t-shirt instead of tight gym…
  • Hi I'm Kem, I've been on here for about 9 months and have found this to be the absolute best thing for ME to monitor my food intake and exercise. Love it, love it!!! If you work it and be honest, you will get where you want to be. I had a couple of friends kind of go by the wayside, so I'm looking for new friends to…
