Right there with you. I had started losing weight before I got pregnant 2 years ago, only gained 15 pounds due to pregnancy, however I ended up gaining 35 pounds since my son was born in 2014. We can do this!

Hey, My first suggestion is get on the meds as soon as you can. Usually if you are not on them, you will almost have a wasted attempt at losing weight. Also, the unfortunate thing is, we with thyroid problems have no way of knowing what our resting caloric burn is, so throw those tests and such out the window. Once you…

Hey! I would be surprised if you didn't have it as well. When I was first diagnosed I thought I was pregnant actually. But those are common sypthoms. If you do have it, you'll be put on a pill that will help to regulate your hormones. It does affect your weight, but I think it's different for everyone. Me personally, I can…

I did the same with the calories for the past two weeks. I also put it 1300-1400. In the past two weeks I have lost 2 pounds where the week before I upped my calories I had gained two (eating only 1200). Good luck and I hope it works for you!

For some people, there is a medical condition called Hypothyroidism (there is also hyperthyroid), basically, your thyroid glands stop producing the hormones needed to produce metabolism. So, if you don't see a dr and get it checked out, it doesn't matter how much or how little you eat and/or exercise your body will just…

I saw that mistype. I think I meant to say you won't slow your metabolism down by eating the burned cals. cause she was saying that she was afraid that the calorie intake based of what she burned would slow it. And yes, I know it'll slow down, that's how I ended up with hypothyroidism (or so says the dr :-/)

Try what I do: Add your own exercising info on the site. I started running on the treadmill and I actually will post to my cardio the cals the tread tells me I burn instead of what the computer says.

You won't slow your metabolism down by not eating enough calories. If you eat too many and don't exercise you will and if you don't eat enough you will. I would know, I have hypothyroidism and when I was diagnosed with it, I was eating 900 cals a day and exercising.

Try your best to eat those cals, maybe even plan your meals for it to give you that extra push or sometimes maybe treat yourself to a jamba juice or starbucks coffee. I know it's hard, I have a difficult time myself, I actually found eating like a zone bar helps to fill in calories (they are generally 180-220cals each)…

Try finding something that can keep your hands or mind busy as well! I found if I read a book that really grabs me, I'm less likely to snack or even a video game haha. Also, gum is sometimes a HUGE life saver if you need to keep your mouth busy, and they have that new "dessert" gum, which I highly recommend! (they taste…

Me personally, I've never had issues at TOM, but I would expect even a small gain, even if it's just half a pound. Skip it if it's a huge worry :0) no need to stress yourself!

Welcome! :) That is awesome that you have some family behind you too with this journey!

I think once in awhile we all have that "I feel fat" feeling. Heck, I'm having it today too even tho the scale said I was down another half pound. But you've done a great job, looking at how much you lost, you're doing a great job! Just gotta remember, it's a state of mind at this point & it's just one day :) Tomorrow is a…

The half marathon is actually in La, it's like a Disney Half Marathon, you run through Anahiem and end up in Disneyland. I heard about it a few years ago and always thought that would be a good run. I am also going to run the Race for the Cure 5k in May!
-
Yeah it's not a fun battle! The biggest thing is remember which foods are best to avoid! And making sure my dosage is right haha.
-
Well, I'm not IN Sac but I'm near it. I'm Nichole, 25, here to lose a good 20 pounds. Goal to run a half marathon in Sept. No kids but I battle hypothyroidism.

I know how you feel, we all get to that point with clothes while losing weight, ESPECIALLY, when we need to dress up. But keep you're head high!

Welcome! I'm in Cali but will definitely be a support system for you! I love this site and my app, it has really taught me a lot since I started (really) using this site.

I personally, pay attention to the cals, carbs and protein. I have to have more protein than the site suggests and need to either have my carbs and protein level or more protein for my body to function properly, of couse I also suffer from Hypothyroidism so that's why watching my carbs is a bit important. When I hit a…

Yeah, I've had my friend who's been my number one supporter so far but need a change of people haha since it's always the same with him.

Congrats! It's always good to see and feel results like that!
