  • 5'4 and weigh about 127/8. Currently a size 6 (Express and the like) but a 2/4 in Ann Taylor Loft because they run large. But, i'm definitely bigger on bottom than top.
  • Strength training will definitely help firm up your back! Even pushups. :) Yet, for me the best thing has always been running. I know people say "it's all about strength training" and I do incorporate that into my regimen, but I just love the high of running outside and the effects on my butt/leg. I run about 25 miles a…

  • I know! The idea of going 100% Paleo is completely impossible. That's why many of my friends eat Paleo 80% of the time. They exclude drinks on the weekends and some weekend meals etc... Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders. (I'm all about whole foods, but not giving up the things I love, in moderation!) :)
  • One thing you should know about the fitness advice put forth by MANY cross fitters is that usually it is driven by a Paleo (or Paleo inspired) lifestyle. Paleo excludes gluten, dairy, alcohol, and sugar from each day's intake. (Maybe that's why his advice seemed to be QUITE different)? The reason many people adhere to the…
  • My best friend is ALSO an INFJ ;) Must be like direct opposite attract. But we are both major 'feelers'!
  • POISON- Groove Coverage!!!
  • Recently as in 3.5 years ago? Then, YES! ;) Person below me spends more time on MFP than any other social networking site.
  • Definitely ENFP. Love it and hate it at the same time! :)
  • So the pain is located in the back of your calf? It wouldn't happen to be on the inside of your calf muscle on the front? If it's located on the inside part of your calf in the front, it could be shin splints (which would make sense, as you are placing a lot of stress on your calf/shin muscles by jumping and running).
  • 10! 10! 10! But living in China complicates life tremendously. : / What should be a simple relationship is complicated by a list of crazzzzy things. Like I teach an hour away from him. He speaks Chinese and my Chinese is very basic. He knows the city and I don't. My students are VERY low and cause me a lot of stress. His…

  • Joeq: 47? Picture is a bit blurry!
  • I was on Implanon and LOVED it. But, every birth control is different. My good friend also was on Implanon and after four months and an almost non-stop period she had it removed. Everybody responds differently! Maybe this is not very helpful, but if Implanon is a front runner, I'd say go for it!
  • My favorites: 1. Newest: With milk (or 1/2 milk and 1/2 water), peach nectar and a bit of sugar. Tastes like peaches and cream! (Can try Strawberry nectar too) 2. Go-to: A tablespoon of unsweetened Hershey's chocolate powder (or Nestle semi-sweet chocolate), a tablespoon of peanut butter and a few tsp. of sugar. BAM! A no…
  • Seriously? If my boyfriend or husband was NOT eating healthy and was leading a sedentary lifestyle, the last thing I would do is accept that (as he shouldn't with me). I mean, he could DIE from these bad habits and I'm supposed to just put on a smiley face and accept that? Relationships are about making each other better.…
  • I feel for you! I totally understand this nagging injury. Have you thought of differing your activities? Doing something with less impact? Elliptical? Yoga? Swimming? Weights? Walking (this could be better or worse for it--depends on the person). I would look into some easy at-home PT activities and stretching. Honestly,…
  • I feel really silly answering this question, as you are a guy, but maybe it'll help other female readers! I prefer the Victoria Secret Body by Victoria Seamless panty line. Generally, they stay in place and are seamless (duh?), but they are a bit expensive. I think they are an investment, though. ;) My 'behind' has gotten…
  • I would be wary of jumping from a 10K to a half-marathon! The injuries you could acquire from jumping to high mileage in a short amount of time is not worth it. Sure, you may be JUST fine, but on the other hand, you could risk shin splints, knee pain and other nagging injuries that are hard to get rid of. (Trust me on…
  • That's a good idea!!
  • Well, I live in Northeastern China. Rice (in moderation) WILL NOT make you fat. Period. I probably eat a little over 2 cups a day and that wasn't what caused my weight gain. What caused my weight gain was eating too much fried Chinese dishes and eating too many sweets that were leftovers from making them with my students.…
  • Pushups!!!!!!! Also, anything working triceps (I like triceps dips, tricep extensions). Also think about going to yoga classes. SO much of yoga is arm strength (in addition to core, leg strength). You can purchase a kick butt yoga video on ITunes called "Yoga Works Body Slims." I recommend that for great arms!
  • Depends on what you are looking for. If you want FAST results, but an intensely hard workout, choose "Insanity". But, to be fair, I think the Cardio Biggest Loser DVD is boring and I haven't tried P90X or TurboFire (though I've heard solid reviews). "Insanity" is cardio heavy. It is fast paced and a mental workout as much…
  • To answer some of your other questions, I don't have before or afters. Just trust me, you will have them. :) Also, I live in China so I cannot follow the meal plan!
  • You are in for a SERIOUSLY insane workout. "Insanity" is correctly labeled! It is truly exhausting. There are very many times in the dvd's that I want to turn it off. It is a mental battle as much as it is physical. I am an avid runner and consider myself in pretty good shape and those dvd's are intense. Start slow. My…
  • I really enjoy a couple dvd's! I live in China and MOST Chinese women (99.7%) are bean poles, so there are few gyms, if any. I recommend Jillian's "Ripped in 30" and "Shred It with Weights". I use heavy and light dumb bells of like 3 lbs and 8 lbs, but my friend Renae prefers just the three lb'ers. This is a GREAT dvd…
  • Way to go!! What an achievement! What a good morning for you. I wish you the best!
  • One simple thing that works for me is: Tea. Yeah, living in China has sent snacking to a whole new level. Snacks here are either a.) fruit b.) vegetables or c.) processed junk. I thought America had TONS of junk, well, China is side-by-side. So, I figured out having something that tastes food-esque really curbs the night…
  • Hey! I'm 5'4 and about 142! I want to lose about 15 more pounds, as well. :) Let me know if you're up for it!
