It's all that Bob Greene/Oprah jazz about not eating after 7 pm or at least 3 hours before bedtime. There's no real science behind it. They believe that since there isn't time to burn off the calories, the food automatically becomes fat. Sorry. Nope. Doesn't work that way.

No flames. Eat whenever you want. Eat at midnight. No biggie.

Honestly, what are bulky muscles? Do you have a link or a photo of someone "bulky?" As a woman, I'm so tired of hearing this. The point of lifting weight is resistance. After a while, whatever weights you lift will become too easy. You will have to increase weights or you'll just be wasting your time.

Has he just plugged in his info to get the basics?

It's the cooked weight.

Thank you for pointing this out.

Pixie, what everyone is trying to say is for you to do some serious weight training. It will shape and sculpt your body.

I log everything. I don't do cheat days. There is no such thing as cheating. I eat all types of food including the occasional high calorie food. No cheating involved. Just making choices.

C25k is walking and jogging combined. Just log how much you do of each.

Get some help. Can you ask one of the trainers at the gym to help you through the routine to make sure you're doing it correctly? Are there other women there you can ask for help?

There are no bad foods. The idea is to eat high calories. Just eat more calories of the food you are comfortable eating.

You're making it too complicated. 1. Count the weight of the chicken after you cook it. 2. For the chicken, go by the scale weight. For the rice, uses measuring cups and go by cup, half cup, etc, 3. For the seasoning, only count them if they are high caloric or high is sodium. Your vinaigrette and soy sauce should be…

Richard Simmons is great. Jane Fonda also has put out some new low impact videos for older folks.

Put it in your food diary and see how it fits into your overall day. I'm sure you have calories left over. No need to panic.

Chris Powell (Extreme weight Loss) is an advocate of it. Here's an article: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/par30.htm Personally, I'm not sold. I don't think the body is going to register the difference in such a small amount of time (24-48 hours).

It's your body. It's your eating. Get in what you can. Yes, eat healthy fats. There is no one magic answer. Depending on who you are and how you like to eat, once you get over 500 or more calories burned, it's going to be difficult to eat every last one of them back. Eat your baseline calories and for the exercise…

Yep, burnout. Take a break from your usual exercise routine and maintain your eating. Do something light and fun for a week or so. You'll know when to go back to the more intense workouts.

Low carbs diets usually include a high amount of protein. It's the high protein (and being in a ketogenic state) that reduces catabolism (losing muscle).

Look at the packaging or check alternate sources. Then pick the closest in the database. Calorie counting will always be a few calories off.

We have one of these threads everyday. If it's meant to be a joke, then put it in the "Chit Chat Fun Games" forum. Not the exercise forum.

Can we grow up already? People have sex. Big whoop. Sex really doesn't burn that many calories. Even vigorous sex.

No, you are not in starvation mode. Banish that thought from your mind. Also, stop getting caught up in minor calorie differences. There is very little effect between 1300 and 1500. Most people miscalculate their calories anyway so most people are likely off by that amount daily. If you hit a plateau, the easiest way to…

You're going to have to eventually move away from Leslie and do more vigorous work.

There are groups already established for all of the programs you mentioned. If you join the groups, they may have challenges already set up for you to join.

You can ASK for an orientation or a free visit with a trainer. It's in their best interest to make sure you use the equipment safely.

If you have a high percentage of fat, you probably aren't going to make a visible difference in 4 weeks. Do what you can but I wouldn't stress it. You have someone who loves you. Enjoy getting ready for your new life together.

You've made your decision. What's the problem?
