I ate raspberries like crazy and all I got were those little seeds stuck in my teeth. Dr. Oz didn't warn me about that... ;-)

I like Hal and his programs. They are simple, like me....

These are all wonderful and insightful replies! I got a spot and am looking forward to training for and racing the 37th Annual MCM!

Thanks what I'm thinking @Celtic. Wowzers @hOw2loze!

I try as hard as I can to maintain my cadence. My form changes per the gradient of the hill. This goes for ascent and decent. You can have a love hate relationship with hills. They hurt so good.

I'd bet the house on Hal Higdon and his Novice I or Novice II training plans. Each one has a very good description of the best type of athlete the particular plan suits. Read them, look at the way the training is laid out on a weekly basis and go for it. I found that they are simple and are tried and tested. Keep it simple…

I've had three pairs of Pure Flows and found them to be very comfortable - in the beginning. Then, they quickly wore out after just 150 miles. Because they are of minimal construction, they will not last, especially if you do the majority of your running on the road. I'm running in a pair of Newton Sir Isaac's now and…

No matter how many people tell me I'm not, I still feel that I'm fat. Even when I look in the mirror, I have a hard time believing that I'm as drastically different as 1.) people tell me am & 2.)that I actually AM not fat. I used to laugh at body dysmorphic disorder, but I truly think that it's a real and powerful thing.…

Way to go!! I can't wait to feel the same feeling soon! Thanks for the motivation today! B

I've recently found that praying a bit helps.... Thanking the Lord for His blessings on me to be out running helps me along when I feel tired or like quitting. B

5'11" 292 in 2004.... 281 - Oct. 2010 when I started making an effort to change 241 - Feb 2012 when I joined MFP 208 - Today - June 26, 2012 The day I see 199 on the scale will be one of the best days of my life.

292.... When I think about this, I hate myself. Not anymore, but how dumb I was to myself.

Slow jog of two miles early this morning before work. Faster, tempo run of at least four miles at lunch. Crab Po-Boy for dinner. Tasty Friday.

Might it be your socks? Though I'd find it suprising it be them especially if this is a new problem and you've been running 1/2 distance for a good while now... Kind of baffling... I wear Balega Hidden Comfort running socks - I love them. www.balega.com

I just signed up for the City of Pittsburgh Great Race on September 30th! It's a 10K which gets close to 15,000 runners! Happy trails! Also, the Mercer County QUAD Road Racing Series starts up on June 20th!

Amen, Amen, and AMEN!

This is SO fantastic! Keep pushing yourself little by little - you'll amaze yourself, I promise!

Don't give up!! It'll get easier! Just keep digging!!

12 pounds to go... 12 pounds to go... My dairy isn't pretty sometimes, but it's always honest.

comment. ;) Good luck.

Thank you. I've just kept it simple and compartmentalized everything. On one had I make sure I exercise. On the other hand I make sure I eat sensibly and adequately. Just worry about not going over your calories on a regular basis. If you stay under you WILL lose weight. Just have to be patient and find the right balance…

Yes, but not all that often. If you track them, it'll break your heart to see the empty calories those drinks contain. Unless the drinks give you the courage to dance, then you can view that dancing as intense cardio! ;-)

You are the model of success, my friend!! Way to freaking go!!!!

I've come to like a Nathan brand handheld bottle. It's pretty comfortable and has a great little pouch for my car key and a Gu or two...

I love the Newman's Own Seasme Ginger Low Fat Dressing. It's awesome!

I would go NO LESS than 30 minutes!

Thanks for your comment Eric - I can only comment on what's worked for me. I've lost 63 pounds walking/jogging and now running. I'm training for a 1/2 marathon and i've had great success with weight loss and controlled diet through MFP by running between 15-25 miles per week. Granted, what works for you and what works for…

Run.... Best bang for your buck. Where else can you burn 400-500 calories in a 30 minute period?
