Warm water is supposed to be more hydrating...I've done it with some lemon, and also salt and pepper before a meal to prepare the body for digestion. As an always cold vata, I try to never drink cold water (and definitely never with ice). It does take some getting used to but the lemon will also aid in moving waste /…

Great news! I teach yoga and have a daily home practice (which is about all I have time for with all the teaching and my day job). :-)

Here's my blog post on the first phase of the cleanse, if you're interested: http://bit.ly/LcXKBt

I'd definitely check this out. I'm almost on the second phase (starts Sunday) and I'm amazed at what I can eat and how my cravings are nearly gone. I never thought I could sustain myself on what she says (fruits and veggies only, 6 days for phase 1) but other than the first day, I feel fantastic! And I'm still running 4-5…

Based on my personal experience, I would say that Ayurvedic food plans are not necessarily enough to eliminate cravings we get when stressed. In fact, I gained weight trying to be healthier…

Welcome Anne - do you have any specific questions?

I've just returned from a 12 day intensive yoga teacher training program (part one of two), and while I was there I had a consultation with an Ayurvedic nutrition specialist. She advised me on which herbs and oils to try and how to navigate my food -- I was feeling a bit confused. Since I'm vata-pitta, I found it easy to…

I use Dr. John's web site a lot: lifespa.com. There is a dosha quiz there too.

Update: almost through my bottle of Suntheanine and I'm not noticing much difference personally.

Nice to meet you too! I'm all vata-pitta and so slowing down for me is very difficult. We are opposites. :-) I've been into a routine where I get up at 5 am and go to bed before 10pm as they suggest, but that was never really a stretch for me. I've always pretty much been sharper in the morning-- I just knocked off 15…
