  • If you can wear a chest band the polar ft7 is great, if a chest band is to tight or won't stay in place for you the epulse2 is worn on the forearm and gives the same type of results. The battery life on the epulse is good for 3-6 hours of continuous display before you have to recharge it. The polar is a a nice watch and an…
  • Calories in vs calories burned that's the basis of FAT/MUSCLE loss/gain. That isn't the full story of weight loss. Your body will retain water, fat stores, other body tissues and fluids depending on the demands you place on it, your health etc... If you intake less calories than you burn you are losing fat and potential…

  • Eating back your calories exercised ... depends on who you ask. I've asked doctors, nutritionists and trainers. The split is about 50/50 yes or no. My doc, trainer, and 1 nutritionist say it's not necessary. That you need to take in enough nutrients vitamins, minerals etc... to prevent malnutrition and it can be done with…

  • Hire a mugger to chase you. The excitement and thrill of getting away will teach you to love it!
  • The goal weight reward is of course living longer and better. BUT lol. For me it is a cross country motorcycle trip NY to LA with my best friend. Hey's buying! For the wife I've setup a spa membership. Total makeovers every month for a year, and a new wardrobe. She's hinting I should give it to her now and she'll be GOOD.…
  • I'm 48, down 53 pounds but another 230 to go so I'm in there with you. Friend me and we can ride the scale down to our goals.
  • Boost your calories for a couple of days. Just add a couple hundred in complex carbs and protein. Sometimes your body just wants a lil pick me up. Also don't forget if you are exercising muscle weighs a LOT more than fat. Check your fat loss with the measuring tape not the scale. You might be surprised.

Using my Kindle Fire. I pick the jazz or blues to fit my mood plug in the earbuds and start reading. Nice to have mp3 and the book reader in one…
  • The look in my wife's eyes every day when I do my best no matter what the silly scale says.
  • I had the surgery 10 years ago. Was a great way to lose weight, you just can't eat. Side effects, like any near starvation diet hair loss, hormonal changes etc... The surgery works for 6 months to a year at which point you have reached a fairly stable weight ... from then on it's all up to you. I dont' regret the surgery…
  • Up until yesterday I logged everything in a spreadsheet ... graphed weight loss etc. MFP just makes it so much easier and a food log sure makes you accountable and weight comes off easier. First few days of logging I found out those tiny bits and bites added up to HUGE calories.
  • I've just started MFP yesterday but I've been on a 1200 calorie diet since Dec 1, 2011. Gone from 467 to 416. Not typical for most people but when you are that big it comes off fast at first. With the small amount of weight you want to lose, exercise and a more moderate calorie intake would get you there. 1200 is pretty…
