  • I have hyperthyroidism, graves disease specifically . It might be the reason you aren't losing. Depends on if you are on where in the range you are. I have struggled to lose weight with it, the specialist says I need to work twice as hard as others to lose the weight. He is impressed so far that I have lost some. Typically…
  • NO ONE walks around with a scale in hand checking out people's weights to see if they are fit or not. I quoted you on my facebook status :) I love this!
  • Nothing wrong with buying free weights and starting from there are home. It would probably be cheaper. There are many YouTube videos, DVDS, etc that can show you exercises and form.
  • ZWOW workouts by ZuzkaLight.
  • I have Graves -hyperactive version. I gained weight even though I did things right, ate right, exercised etc. The specialist told me something that just stuck and I go back to it a lot. YOU have to work harder than everyone else but you can do it. I have been in remission for 6 months, no meds and have lost 17 pounds of…
  • We have two little kids and often have to do long road trips . We have a travel cooler that comes with us, we pack it up with veggies and fruit etc before we go, and replenish it when we need to at grocery stores along the way. Ice is easy to find at Gas stations. Where there is a will there is a way :)
  • Tiny boobed apple! oh man that made me laugh so hard! seriously, pear shaped.
  • I found these multi grain slider thin buns at PC and it works great for spreading the laughing cow cheese on. I add tomato or some cucumber. My kids even like them.
  • I have graves disease, Also triggered due to pregnancy. Also went on Meds, also gained a lot of weight. My first advice, find a specialist to take care of you. A General Practitioner, though helpful does not know the complete picture with Graves disease. I have been in Remission for 6 months now. No meds, and doing well.…
  • I have used it for a while now, I use it in conjunction with Jogging. It is intense, but It does work. I have lost inches, not necessarily weight though. I am definitely stronger now, as I can carry my kids, and another one I look after no problem. I love how you don't need equipment just the workout and the time. Good…
  • I've had two C sections, same thing, always felt like there was no support or control on the lower abs. The only thing that has seemed to help them is doing lower ab exercises 3 days a week. The muscles just get weak and you have to strengthen them.
  • I am a Counsellor. If you truly feel that you are addicted to sweets then please go see a counsellor. I have worked with Clients who are addicted to food and it not only can be detrimental to your health, but your state of mind. A counsellor can help you figure out if it is a true addiction or a matter of retraining your…
  • It's a hot topic. I was only 10 pounds overweight when I started both my pregnancies and I still ended up with Gestational Diabetes, Graves disease and Pre clampsia. I ate correctly, I love veggies, fruit, I kept daily food journals, I exercised doing kickboxing. It was still never enough for the doctors or the…
  • I have graves disease and I tried coconut oil, it make me very ill and I had to go to the hospital with a thyroid storm. If you have a overactive thyroid, be careful with the use of coconut oil. I have a few friends who use coconut oil and they love it, I do think it is a great alternative to other fats out there. Not for…
  • I used to work night shifts and split shifts, not as a waitress mind you. So I imagine the temptation to eat is higher. I found if I treated the 8 hours like a 9-5pm shift, then I could do it. I would bring a "Lunch" and two Snacks and Drank water. It was hard at first, but it worked. Veggies and fruit don''t need a cold…
  • I am from Northern Alberta, got about 5 feet of snow and it has warmed up from - 42 to -15.
  • From Northern Alberta :)
  • I used to feel so self conscious about any thing involving working out. So I started doing at home workout videos, I am pretty Disciplined so it worked for me. Now I do Zumba and I am in the front of the class working my little legs off. Start with what you can do then as you gain confidence you won't feel so strange. By…
