  • I agree that you are doing wonderfully. Your metabolism will recover but as with anything it will take time. I understand your anxiety. Keep at it, girl. Nothing in this life is permanent.
  • Best of luck to you. Read some of the links about eating more to weigh less. I think if I would have understood all of this a long time ago, I would not have done so much yo-yo dieting. You might try keeping a handwritten food journal for a day or two then logging those days on MFP to see how many cals you typically eat.…
  • YES BOTH OF THE ABOVE.

  • Yep, I lose my appetite but i usually work out late in the evening and the next day I am usually very hungry! :)
  • I have heard the suggestion of putting this in the freezer...then, when you want it you will have to thaw it and measure out exactly the amount you plan on eating. Best of luck to you. :flowerforyou:
  • Hilarious! Dang, for sure you weren't meant to have that pop tart!
  • HAHA, I've sooo done this too! :D I thought I was the only 1...my husband was like "What did you do??? How long did you cook it?" Maybe 10 minutes...lol
  • Just curious, what type of consistency do these come out to be? Are they soft like a regular pancake? I tried to make these wheat pancakes once and they were thick and tough :(
  • BUMP! Thanks so much for the info! I have done so many super low cal diets in the past and eventually gained it all back plus some. This time, I have been making more gradual changes and while I started with a low 1200 cal diet in Feb, when I had 80+ lbs. to lose, right now when I have 22 lbs. to lose, I typically eat…
  • I am 5'8", the goal I set for myself when starting in February 2012 was 150. I started at 239 and as of this morning am at 176. According to my doctor, I should aim for approx. 23% body fat which based on my lean muscle mass and skeletal mass would put me at 155. However, I have weighed 150 in the past and still felt a…
  • That's super sweet! I've recently been trying to teach my husband NOT to comfort me with food. I realized when I was sad, stressed, celebrating etc. he would get me my favorite foods. Now, I have to learn to celebrate and cope in a different way. He has been very supportive though and IF/WHEN I really want to cheat and…
  • I wondered if unflavored even existed...where do they sell it or what brand is it??
  • BUY EGGLAND'S BEST EGGS! They are so good, lower in cholesterol and they have added healthy fats in the form of Omega 3, due to grain fed to the chicken.
  • I totally agree! I am 5'8"- 5'9" and the goal that my doctor and I set is for me to be 150 lbs. However, I see a lot of girls on here at my height that weigh 130....then I start thinking maybe I should change my goal :(
  • mmm....thanks have to try this! Gotta love Butterfinger :flowerforyou:
  • Are you planning to exercise? If so, you should check out www.fat2fitradio.com to calculate BF, BMR, TDEE, etc. and decide your cal goals. If you aren't going to change up your exercise routine much, then its probably safe to use MFP's cal goals and set it to lose 1 lb. per week. Good luck! Wish I only had 10-15 more lbs…
  • Thanks so much. I often get discouraged because, even though I have lost 50+ lbs, I don't like my body all that much better and am nowhere near wearing a bikini top. Congrats on your sucess and best of luck on your continuing journey!
  • MOST DEFINITELY A GREAT SUCCESS STORY! And there are many others on here, who are also struggling with eating disorders, so I very much appreciate you sharing your story. Congratulations and I hope you continue on for many, many more days and years feeding your body healthy foods and exercising. You are beautiful!
  • From my experience, Dr. Oz is correct on this topic. I TOTALLY LOVE CARBS and I also have a much bigger belly than others in the same weight range as me. I have done low carb diets in the past and definitely lost from my belly from the very beginning and just kept going. However, for me this was unsustainable since I am a…
  • Don't be discouraged! 1 lb per week is actually the healthiest amount to lose as you are much less likely to rebound and gain it back! 1200 cals is very low, especially now that you are exercising. Check out www.fat2fitradio.com- go to all calculators- then bmr and calories. Plug in your info with your current weight as…
  • Honestly, I lost a little while breastfeeding but did not calorie restrict. I would wait to get really serious about weight loss until you are done breastfeeding or just eat at maintenance plus the extra cals for baby and create a small deficit with the exercise you are already doing. Also, lowering your sugar intake,…
  • Congrats on your weight loss! I understand your frustration, I think you are correct in worrying about lowering to 1200-1300 cals and then basically you may end up stuck where you have to continue on a 1200-1300 cal diet in order to maintain that weight. I would use www.fat2fitradio.com to find out what your maintenance…
  • I know that it doesn't make sense but it is my true experience and I can tell you exactly what I ate...1 grilled hamburger w/ pickles and a hamburger bun, 2 tbc guacamole and 5 chips....not 17,000 cals. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I was also eating low carb at the time but I wouldn't say it if it weren't true. My…
  • I just HAVE to say...I have indeed experienced starvation mode first hand...did a 500 cal diet, then had one cheat meal and gained 5 lbs which it then took me a week or more to "re-lose." Then, when I went into eating "maintenance cals" I gained rapidly! Just sayin...this is why I am a firm believer in the "Eat More to…
  • susannamarie...just curious, is this your real name? I see your posts frequently and I was just wondering because my mother's name is Susan....but her "catholic name" is Anna Marie. Such an odd coincidence! :)
  • I plan on tracking my calories for a loong time just because I want to make sure that I'm making a lifestyle change and I don't revert back to my old eating habits. I've done the yoyo too many times and although I am sure you are learning healthy quantities of food and making better choices, it is sooo easy to go overboard…
  • Terrific job!!
