Anorexia recovery

Hi I've been recovering from Anorexia Nervosa for 5 years. Currently I am eating in between 1600-1800 calories a day. I am 168cm and 48.4kg. I am really struggling today my period came back! I'm really not happy about it as the anorexic voice in my head is screaming at me to restrict and loose all the weight again. I want to recover but feel so stuck on the 1600-1800 calorie diet. I don't see a need to gain anymore weight now my periods have returned. I'm just so worried that my metabolism is completely destroyed and will I will never be able to eat more than my current diet without gaining lots of weight. I have Asperger's syndrome too so this has made my recovery particularly difficult because I just can't cope with even tiny changes and I am obsessed by numbers. Please help, I want my life back.

Are you under a doctor's care and/or getting counseling? If not, is there a support group in your area that you can join?
Congratulations on the hard work thus far on your recovery.0 -
I don't have any advice at this moment but I do commend you for working so hard on your recovery. I promise, you will find a comfortable spot, it took me a long time but I think I am sitting there and I am sure you will too.0

I agree that you are doing wonderfully. Your metabolism will recover but as with anything it will take time. I understand your anxiety. Keep at it, girl. Nothing in this life is permanent.0

Congratulations on being in recovery! I hope you're working with a doctor or counselor? Remember that a period is a good thing. It means that your body is actually functioning better and isn't saving every single calorie because it's starving. BUT, just because you have your period doesn't mean it's time to stop gaining weight. You can still be underweight and have one. 1600-1800 is a good starting goal. Your metabolism may be a little slower now, but that's a good thing since you need to keep all those calories and rebuild muscle and tissue. If you keep at it, your metabolism will speed up. Wait until you're a healthy weight to worry about how much you'll be able to eat in the long run. And have someone else help you in deciding what is healthy for you. Your perspective is unfortunately skewed because of of anorexia, and you likely will think you need to be much thinner than is a good weight for your body.0

Hey, well done for getting this far. I had and am still recovering from an eating disorder. I am your height and was diagnosed with anorexia. Your current weight is also my lowest. I don't get my period unless I'm about 53kg. Don't be afraid to gain a little more especially a little muscle which always looks fit and healthy. I wish you well with your recovery!0
