If you are correctly portioning your foods, perhaps you are not eating enough calorie dense foods. The highest nutrient dense foods are raw green leafy veggies, especially kale, collard greens and watercress. The lowest nutrient foods are refined grains, processed foods (especially refined sweets) and oils. By eating more…

I have to agree with RaeBeeBaby. Processed foods and frozen meals (that are purchased from the store, not the home made kind!) are full of preservatives that are simply not good for you. Yes, the convenience factor is very appealing but the long-time results are not to me. What has made it easier for me is a couple of…

I have been told by a few that "coaches have it all together" when, in fact, I don't. I have good days and bad and for me, it's important to have support from others, and join me in making a positive change in our lives.

FANTASTIC!!!!!! Are you doing a lot of walking and/or a different type of exercise?

Dang...I know that can be painful! I don't know what may be causing the pain but I, too, have experienced that pain. You'll be okay one minute and the next - POW! It's like someone stab you in the hip! I went to an orthopedic doc as I was having some discomfort in one of my toes. Come to find out, my arches had fallen.…

Hey, Jason! Sorry to hear about the health scare but glad you did, and are still, making healthier changes! I started fours years ago when I was 48 (quick math: I'm 52 now. lol). My clothes just didn't fit right, feeling like a huge slug. I was bloated & feeling like I was full up to my ribs but I was always hungry. So I'd…

WARNING - LONG POST! Good morning, NAS702! First, let me say kudos to you for taking the steps necessary for becoming healthier - most would just wish it and not do anything about it! With that said, and you reaching out for help, I thought I'd put my two cents in. ;) I, too, took a look at your food diary. The first thing…

I'm echoing what others have mentioned....time for a doctor visit.

I have to step back (and squat, lunge, etc. lol) and realize that I can not stop time and all that comes with it, aka slow-*kitten* metabolism. However, that doesn't mean to me that I have to take it laying down. As long as I consume dense nutrition, drink my water and workout each day (stretching is a must, 2x a day)…

Glad to see that you are wanting to lose the weight in a healthy way -- that is the best way to keep it off! Good for you! I have some weight to lose but am really interested in seeing some muscle tone. I'd love to be one of your motivational cheerleaders!

Are you incorporating any form of exercise along with your increased calories?
-
52 1/2 and still "enjoying" the foggy brain, chunky middle, low/non-existent metabolism. HOWEVER - I've given myself a swift kick and decided to make some changes. I would love to support/encourage each other along our journey! :) I'm going to add y'all as "pals" (is that what you call it?!), if you don't mind.

From your profile pic, it leads me to believe you know what you are talking about! Thanks - will give this a try! :)
