I actually use MFP to pre-plan my week and everything is logged Monday-Friday by Sunday night. If something changes during the week for whatever reason I will change/update it on the fly. I also prep as much of the meal plan in advance as possible so sticking to my plan is convenient and easy.

People who occupy equipment while exercising nothing but their thumbs on their mobile phones (if you have been sitting there for 12 minutes you are not "resting between sets". Out-loud phone conversations or music (nobody wants to hear that). Heavy perfume/cologne (I would rather smell your sweat). "Savsies" – putting a…

Eat clean. No alcohol, no refined sugar/flour or processed garbage. I will pack my meals with nutrient-dense foods to get the most out of every calorie. Live a life where food feels insignificant. I will not be obsessed with food. I won't use food to regulate emotions, to soothe trauma or cope with emotional unease. It's…

Fitting into some leggings I bought online. It was an expensive pain in the rear end to return them so I kept them with the goal to squeeze into them. It will happen.

I have a TRX and it's been great. I have a superset workout that creates a combo muscle-building and cardio workout. You can adjust resistance simply with your body position. I won't lie, I miss the gym, but the TRX has enabled me to maintain tone and weight (even lose some weight) during Covid with a combination of TRX…

I feel you! I started my weight loss journey in 2010 at 298 pounds and over the course of that year I lost over 100 pounds. I was super motivated, totally disciplined and loved it although I never quite got to my goal weight. Then, at the beginning of 2011 the wheels started coming off. I found out my position was being…

I have been struggling with depression lately, too. I started the year great – super motivated, disciplined, dedicated. I lost 15 pounds in the five weeks. Unfortunately, my mom passed away in February and I have been on an emotional roller coaster ever since. Some days I do better than others but I have been dealing with…

This is some great feedback, everyone. Thanks a million! The only reason I don't just rest is – honestly – my boyfriend is a bit of a lolly-gagger. I get in and out for my sets but he farts around with the straps, making sure they aren't twisted and are perfectly straight, etc. It cracks me up, I think it's just his…

I add it to oatmeal for a boost. Also, I will add a scoop to chia seed pudding: 2 Tbsp chia seeds, 1/2 cup cashew milk, 1 scoop protein powder. Shake that up and put it in the fridge overnight. When you are ready to eat, top it with fresh fruit, nuts, etc. Delicious!

The support of my fitness-buddy! We keep each other going, keep each other motivated and accountable.

When I want to add a punch of protein to a meal, I look to seitan – there are some great store-bought, natural products out there. I tend to go with either Upton's Naturals or Field Roast. Also, I have been known to make my own.

Go ahead and block me now but I find your assumptions silly. Ethical vegans aren't misanthropes, they don't hate themselves, they don't place animals over human beings, and abstaining from using animal product for food, clothing, cosmetics etc on an ethical basis in no way qualifies as an eating disorder. Contrary to your…

I haven't eaten meat in years and, in that time, I have gotten leaner, stronger, faster and far, far healthier. Furthermore, I live 100% in accordance with my values which makes me strong in character. There are plenty of vegan athletes out there, from ultra marathoners to MMA fighters and weight lifting champions, proving…

I have a friend who had oral surgery and she relied a lot upon those Peter Rabbit brand organic fruit snacks. They are usually with the infant/baby foods in a natural food store. They have both fruit and veggie blends and they are drinkable. Dunno if that would help.

Congratulations and welcome to the club! We'll have to figure out a way to teach you the secret handshake.

I totally get what you're saying and have been in your shoes. It is especially tough with last-minute invitations and, for me, that happens less now than earlier in my journey. Friends and family have kind of learned that they can't spring things on me – they want me around, want to spend time with me, so they have gotten…

The smell of barbecue physically nauseates me. I will actually cover my nose and mouth if it's nearby. Oreo cookies used to be my favorite food on the planet – I don't mind the chocolate cookie part, but I would throw the filling in the trash now.

Yup, this.

All calories are comprised of fat, carbohydrates and/or protein. There are foods that are less nutrient dense, wherein most of the calories are coming from carbohydrates and few to no vitamins, minerals, fiber or other nutrients; however, there is no such thing as a food with calories and no macronutrients.

Feel free to add me... we went vegan on the exact same day. Been vegetarian for 5 years.

Banana pancakes. I only make them after doing races (5ks or 10ks) – but boy, oh boy do I love them after a race!

One of my favorite savory breakfasts is roasted kabocha squash (can substitute butternut or delicata squash or even sweet potatoes if you can find these little green japanese pumpkins) over some mixed greens – my favorite mix is kale, baby spinach and arugala – sautéed in coconut oil. Great combination of flavors and if…
