  • My time machine is an alarm clock. ;)
  • I had room mates a couple of years ago that I found out were making fun of me behind my back because I had been gaining weight (and I still weighed 50+ lbs less than they did!). I have finally managed my schedule to go to a local sci-fi convention and I am making SURE I fit into my old costumes (and a couple of new ones…
  • I don't record any of my numbers, I just allow the fitbit to sync with MFP and that works for me.
  • Just leaving this here: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/running  While not why *I* love to run, it's a fun read.
  • I went to the Under Armour Outlet just last week and picked up some good deals. Though that was a bit of a reward for me for hitting a Non Scale Victory recently.
  • Today I went out and ran 7.64 miles in 1 hour and 21 minutes. Considering my usual runs are usually a hair over 5 miles in barely under an hour I'm counting that as progress! :D (I only started running in the beginning of April. Was never a runner before, but I'm starting to wrap my head around the fact I may be a runner…
  • While some people are proponents of drinking 8 oz before you eat, I like to take a sip every two or three bites. I can usually drink a 16.9 oz water bottle by the end of a meal without much of a problem. So eat six small meals a day and you'll be good! ;) (This might not work for you of course)
  • Famous Dave's does have a lighter menu, be be aware it's only lighter compared to regular restaurant fare. That being said, their roasted chicken is pretty good, you can add BBQ sauce to it yourself, just ask the waitstaff. Firecracker green beans are tasty if you like spice, plus their seared pineapple is available for a…
  • Mine is open! I love snooping open food diaries too!
  • No need for a subscription at all! Fitbit.com has it's own 'premium' service but its free services work just fine.
  • I really like the fitbit line. I've had pretty much all of them (except for the flex, and I returned the force when they did the recall since it didn't work well for me), but I love my One to bits. For me: Zip - Basic tracker worked well, bit of a pain to remember to change the battery, but not a big deal. I used to clip…
  • If you're keeping things cool, how about Canned Tuna Ceviche? I made this yesterday and had it on a bed of baby spinach. So tasty! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/canned-tuna-ceviche.html#more You can eat those hard boiled eggs as-is, or make deviled eggs with them. But for a healthier option use avocado mayo maybe?…
  • Ok, after about 5 tries I give up until I come home from work. :explode: This is skinnytaste.com Canned tuna ceviche. Delicious! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/canned-tuna-ceviche.html#more…
  • This sounds delicious (I LOVE asparagus)! I'll definitely put it on my 'must try' for the upcoming week!
  • Fresh ginger! I used it recently to make a tradition korean dessert punch - sujeonggwa and the ginger leftover from boiling I ended up candying. Delicious! Plus the punch has cinnamon as well as the ginger, though a bit too much sugar. Next batch I'm going to reduce the sugar and see how it tastes to fit it into my meals.…
  • Trying to get used to a new sleep schedule since my hours have just changed at work. I would have been in bed hours ago otherwise. :(
  • Seven Nation Army (Remix) by The Glitch Mob/The White Stripes Monster by Skillet Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie Du Hast by Rammstein I love these while running from zombies (Zombies, Run!). They always make me reach for that little bit of extra speed. :D
  • You can also check out bento boxes for inspiration. They don't need to be refrigerated (and are designed not to be) so you'd be able to have something fun to look forward to when you eat. http://justbento.com/recipes is a good resource. You could also check http://www.skinnytaste.com/ So many amazing recipes (she's already…
  • Luckily for me I have several breaks at work to eat (I'm a dealer at a casino and we regularly get a 20ish minute break every hour or hour twenty) so my eating habits aren't often remarked on except a bit enviously since I'm eating my nice home-prepared food and they're eating what the cafeteria is serving. Plus our health…
  • One of my friends can't have gluten so I've tried to find meals for her to eat whenever she visits. It's hard, but not as impossible as it was even five years ago. Hard boiled eggs are a decent protein source and easy to make ahead of time for snacking or as part of your meals. Good on salads! Or with tuna fish! I've made…
  • Congrats on starting here! It's so great you're getting lots of replies. :D A food scale is a great way to make sure you know exactly how much you're eating! If you can find a cheap one, go for it. I find it a lot easier for me to stay within my goals if I make meals ahead of time, then pack them in individual plastic…
  • Just made this today with chicken breast rather than my usual dark meat. It was still good, if a little bit dry, so here are a couple of tweaks 1) Reduce the heat to 350 degrees 2) Add some chicken stock to help keep it liquid (normally the fat from the dark meat/skin adds more liquid volume)
  • Bumping this to find it later.
  • I've been 'back' on MFP since September first and my scale seems to be moving GLACIALLY slow. My weight loss seems to be at 1 pound per 11 days which is not terrible, but don't we all want to see it move more? Luckily I've started trying to run (using the Zombies, Run! app) and I'm noticing real improvements there. Ran my…
  • Easy Chicken Teriyaki Get whatever chicken you like (I tend to get the family pack of boneless skinless chicken thighs, but it will work with any chicken. For parties I'll get wings!) Have a baking dish big enough for chicken (or buy an aluminum foil pan for easy clean up) Garlic (2 cloves or more of you like garlic)…
  • I'm a carbovore myself. Fresh bread, rice, potatoes, pasta. Yum. I can go without most sugary stuff but bread right out of the oven? I'm also half Korean half Italian so if I tried to cut out carbs my meals would be so sad!
  • I waitressed at an extremely busy restaurant for about a year and a half. I think your idea of making juices is GREAT, especially if you won't have time to sit and eat. I used to keep luna bars in my apron in case my stomach was grumbling loudly. Depending on how long your shifts are, I'd try and eat before and after and…
  • On someone ELSE'S plate! I have tried it and just don't like it (holdover from being told as a kid to ''just try a bite!") but I totally defend other people's right to eat it. :D
  • I am definitely on board with Zombies, Run! It's such an amazing storyline and keeps me motivated to go to the gym much more often.
  • Your weight can fluctuate multiple times in a DAY, so try not to worry about that. I've actually weighed more in the morning when I've just gotten out of bed compared to right before I go to work in the afternoon so you might just be hitting a heavy time of day for you.
